    Another great one Dave. Truly beautiful countryside and superbly filmed to emphasize the scope of the venue. Again, the over your right shoulder camera view really illustrates the leads you put on those birds and there were many outstanding shots on really good ones. You've always been a great ambassador for the shooting sports and your videos never fail to capture what we all love most about them. Thanks, keep up the great work and best regards as always, Ed.

    It's more interesting than the shooting you huge divide between rich and poor when I started shooting in the 70 it was narrower I shot rabbits and wood piegions there the pheasent for poor people great memories even whent to a few small shoots I love a American he was asked are you going to England to shoot birds no to much bullshit to expensive and were not wearing tweed because we're not lords o what fun I love both country's and I learnt of a game keeper and out of town no snoby there it's all fun iv got my own clay shoot and of course we're free to protect ourselves fancy that freedom I love it all see I know how much work is needed to put partridge in the air

    Dave is such a interesting fella money is no problem never talks about it mybe for poorer people half day 3 drives just 30 birds this would be sensible idea 100 pound just a coffee and a sandwich great idea or clays and 5 birds mixed in this would be some fun for poorer people go to a background check so people can get a gun that day no dressing up see us poorer people don't have to impress anybody were not lords you asked rich people why aren't there more people shooting the obvious is to expensive I enjoy these discussions see you keep making it just for the rich when you all die of there's no one to follow iv been working this stuff out for 40 years

    Amazing scenery, it would be great if you incorporated more about the beaters/pickers up and dogs in your video. If it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have driven days. It would make the videos a bit more varied, it would certainly keep me watching for longer, I can only watch the same person shooting for so long 😂 hope you consider the suggestion!

    Can I assume that Steel Shot was being used. Otherwise I see no justification in having to use 40gram 4's to shoot Game birds. When I started shooting 30gram 6's were the norm for Game Birds and I can't imagine that the Great Shots of the late Victorian and Edwardian age put 40gram loads through their Purdy's and Holland and Holland's. If as Dave Carrie states in his videos Shooting should be "open to all" then its time for him and the shooting community to accept that the vast majority of shooters will struggle to hit let alone cleanly kill game birds (or clays), much over 40-50 yards. And as Giles Catchpole stated in The Shooting Times these are not "High Birds", rather "Far Away", birds, which is hardly "Sporting"!

    • @DaveCarrieShooting
      @DaveCarrieShooting  2 года назад

      I would not personally consider a 40yd pheasant fair game, I would expect to kill 90 to 95% at this distance and so would a number of other noted shots, but I do agree wholeheartedly that a 40 to 50yd pheasant for the majority of game shots will be challenging enough and sometimes too challenging for a good percentage of them!! And steel shot was not being used as on this type of bird ! It would be found wanting- Hence my preparedness with the correct loads and equipment!! The Edwardian game shots would certainly not be looking for the type of bird I am looking for, Nooo their main aim was numbers rather than quality, shooting has many variants but the main two that stand out above all is the gun that wants his money’s worth and certainly the bag and beyond !! And the gun that wants quality and to be challenged wether it be a 100 bird day or a 300 bird day the bag is immaterial to him!! only the quality matters👍
