My favorite styx song by far. This is Pure Classic Rock right her ladies and gents.. Pretty hard to believe it only made #64 on the singles charts, this song is a bop
@@lastdaysguitar - You're wrong! Tommy doesn't sing this because they don't play it live! I've seen them 9 times over the past decade and they haven't yet. I wish they would though... Lawrence would kill this!
@@truckerkevthepaidtourist - So let me see if I have this right. Tommy MOVES TO CHICAGO, joins a band called Styx and loves his new city, but he shouldn't wear anything with Chicago on it because he was born in a backward hillbilly state. Okay, now I've got it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Listen to this song and its 1980 again running around with the roof open in the Cougar.....theu guys always said riding around with me was living on Borrowed Time
This video is a perfect time capsule. Not only does it encapsulate the classic lineup of Styx in their prime and at the top of their game, it encapsulates what it was like to go to a rock concert before things like the internet, social media, and smartphones.
Katag68 I've been trying to look for this music video from way before, the actual full-length music video of Styx borrowed time. But now you reposted the music video itself, with no glitches, no short beginning. Because all of it is perfect, and I get to see the music video of borrowed time again and again. But please make sure this video doesn't get deleted, because it needs to live on for the fans of Styx. Even Dennis DeYoung himself, the former lead singer songwriter and former pianist and keyboard player of Styx. And I believe that Dennis DeYoung would be proud to see this perfectly and better quality of the music video borrowed time, so he can remember the memories when he and the band used to play and sing together on stage
Just remember the track in the video is not from live, just dubbed over. The track is actually from the album, including the fade out. They did Play the song live back then, but the arrangement was a little different.
@@jasondudash5501 oh well excuse me, I had no idea. I thought this video and the first music video of babe was from 1979, and then when the song babe won the People's Choice Award. Styx started to do a couple of other music videos including a new one with the song babe, at top of the pops
@Terrence Reardon and Friends Podcast Podcast I'm going per VH1. Some VH1 videos don't show the name of the album. But because I never saw this on VH1, l put the name of the album.
The Cornerstone album was such a disappointment after the excellence of The Grand Illusion and Pieces Of Eight. Paradise Theatre was an improvement but they never got back to the brilliance of the late 70s. This probably explains why their live set consists mostly of songs from those albums and Cornerstone is ignored. Borrowed Time was one of the better tracks along with Eddie and Love In The Midnight.
Genesis also changed at the time with Duke then Abacab then The Mama Album. Pink Floyd changed to arena rock with The Wall then orchestral with The Final Cut and 80s Arena Rock with A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Rush added white reggae with Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures and Signals and synth rock from Grace Under Pressure forward
Here's the thing that is such a trip in fact if it wasn't so sad it could be almost funny! Dennis DeYoung wrote and sang half (50%) of the hits that Styx were known for in the 1970s. It doesn't matter if he never sings another song again. Everytime they play ▶️ one of his 🎵 🎵 🙄 💀 😒 he gets paid! I'm talking full bank 🏦 here! 💸 🤪 😎 💰 😎 Cha Ching!!! I remember putting on my headphones and listening to the yes and no in stereo. It’s was amazing. What a great time to be alive and rock with the best.
First line: Don't look now, but here comes the 80s. It's 2024. Wow, where did all that time go? Still a great song after all these years.
Yep very true

STYX one of the best Rock bands of history
It’s damn shame these guys are not in Rock 🪨 and Roll Hall of Fame
This is awesome rock radio. It should be played more on classic radio stations as well as Man in the Wilderness
esta cancion siempre me hara recordar a Gerardo Manuel y su DISCO CLUB, el la ponia en su programa, descanse en paz maestro Gerardo
This is one of my favorite Styx songs, up there with other hidden gems like Miss America and Pieces Of Eight
I still go see Styx every time they come to my city. They are even better today!!!!
No, they really aren't. Dennis is very missed, and for whatever reason Lawrence was not singing this and I heard Tommy sing this, its not even close.

A classic that is so relevent in this messed up times...YES NO.......NO YES......
Tommy's guitar solo was just magnificent
Pretty cool to see him rocking the Chicago Police uniform too
Yeah especially for a good old boy from Alabama 🤣🤣

i can remember waiting for the doors to open when general admission was at some concerts running to your spot waiting for lights to go down good times
It was definitely a different time back then. It was just electric back then. Haven’t felt that way in years. 😂😂
This is what what music is all about. no one will ever top them in their heyday.
Oh gosh, how I love this song... and it's 2024~!
same here bruh..
Remember Don Kirchner Rock Concert seeing this. Awesome
The production on this song is so damn good! My fave Styx tune.
When ever I hear people say that Dennis can't do rock, I think of this song, then followed by songs like Queen of Spades and Grand Illusion.
Fabulous! Thanks a ton for posting! Love these guys and especially this brilliant song. It plays in my head a lot, by the way!
Magnificence as always from these guys.
Still of my favorites songs by Dennis Deyoung, I mean Styx! Lol Kicks Ass!!!!
⚘❤
Such a commentary on American society, love it.
Incendiario tema.....1978
да, неплохо, но причём здесь 1978 ?
это жжж вещица из "Краеугольного камня", по-вашему -- Cornerstone, а это конец 1979-го;
Por siempre Styx

Clasics. .....
WOW! where did you get this pristine copy?!?! Just dubbed new crowd noises and audio from CD?
Seems like this might have been the official vid.

Such a shame Dennis & Tommy couldn’t work their differences
Just as well with dennis trying to turn the band into air supply
