I have both controllers use the TE more just because, It felt a lot Better after stick calibrations, BUT the resolution part if are correct is concerning.
I have the TE I'm now thinking of exchanging for the pro. If I'm going to pony up the extra $ I was wondering if you prefer scuff envision pro or the razer v3 pro? I'm fine with just PC for the scuff & the razers lvl of customization. My main concern is with the 6 extra in game buttons, which layout do you prefer. Also any idea what the resolution of the scuff thumb sticks are? And will kontrolfreeks work on the scuff? Also which d-pad do you prefer? Thanks.
@@s1aver1 I would have to say I prefer the layout of the Razer as far as the extra buttons go, but I have heard many people say that they love the layout of the envision pro once they got used to it, so it might possibly be that I haven’t put enough hours into it to get used to the two side buttons. I’ve always thought those extra buttons on the envision were a cool idea, and am still a little surprised nobody else has copied that design. That said, if I were spending $200 on a controller, it would be hard for me to talk myself into the Envision, if for no other reason than that it has potentiometer thumbsticks. And as much as I’ve criticized the lack of customization available in the Razer app…Scuf’s iCue software is MUCH worse, despite having more features. It hardly works at all, and sometimes when it doesn’t work, the controller won’t even connect. I’ve had the app lose connection with the envision pro during games, both wired and wireless…maybe I got a lemon with my unit, but I’ve had enough issues that I stopped using it entirely pretty quickly.
@@OldManRob13 So I picked up a Razer V3 pro & a Scuf Envision pro. Though the V3 pro is better than the V3 TE, I ended up keeping the Scuf. I agree the extra button layout on the Razer is a bit better(the paddle that is a membrane button on the Scuf requires too much force) but I just don't like the thumbsticks I'm not sure if it's the tension or if I just don't like the feel of hall effect sticks but I shoot better on both the Scuf & MS elite 2. Also the Envsions sticks resolution is 1200 pts incase anyone was wondering but it's more the feel than resolution as to why I preferred them. Also the controller feels much more premium, has a better D-Pad/face buttons(regular mechanical not a membrane mechanical hybrid). Hopefully I don't end up having the issues with it you did. In icue if you set the controller to device memory mode you only need to use icue to set/save profiles to the device memory otherwise you can close it so it's not running in the background. May help.
I just bought this controller and am thinking abour returning it after using it for a day They recently removed the ability to calibrate the joysticks on the te in the most recent firmware. I wasn't a fan of the higher stick tension. Maybe I should give it more time?
@ Whoa, seriously? They removed the ability to calibrate the joysticks? I’ll test this later today…but yeah. If they removed that, this controller went from “not great” to…I dunno. Kinda bad.
the stick resolution is surprisingly low but the actual input lag accoring to Gamepadla is very good , and having less than 100 points on the sticks will still be bellow the recommended minimum of 125 points. this is vry revealing and it's a flaw and shouldn't exist in my opinion , how did they allow such a very low resolution ?!!
@@MonderMatrix yeah, I was very surprised, it explains why it feels so bad. I really don’t understand how/why the Pro and TE versions have different resolutions, either. It’s pretty disappointing.
Do Xbox controller freaks work on this controller? I have an older version of this controller and the thumb sticks are a different size and I had to cut into the actual thumb stick to fit them previously! If someone could let me know if they work that would be great!
@@user-gq3eq5bf9t I have not. I’ve considered it, but it’s been out awhile and got pretty mixed reviews, so have never pulled the trigger on it. I might if I find it on a good sale sometime.
I have the V3 T. E. & the right analog stick can be pulled up & pushed down a couple of centimeters. I don't know if that's a feature to make the right stick a bit taller, but the right stick doesn't catch drift nor anything negative happens... I want to know if this happens to anyone else who has the TE edition.
@@josephdufresne4177 if you’re on Xbox, there’s just not a perfect answer right now. I’m hopeful the GameSir G7 Pro will be the answer, when it comes out. If on PC, my top recommendations are the Vader 4 Pro and the Blitz 2.

@@ericcousinojr5222 man, as much as I love the physical feel of the V3, there’s no shot I would use this for CoD over the G7. Hall sensors still use physical contacts. The brushes wear out, and can still be faulty out of box. TMR sensors are superior. Magnets have zero contact, and never wear.
Not being able to avoid drift without a 3% minimum dead zone is a big no-go.
