Enlightened action also provides reload speed, although it requires damage to proc. Don't know if it provides better reload speed, but if it does, I can go without the extra velocity from impulse amplifier.
@@infinitedeath1384 I think the sidearm's archetype almost demands velocity for faster moving targets or longer ranges. The bonus to velovity from impulse amplifier is a percentage, it's 35%. So, the more you have the more you'll get. Also, the reload speed provided by the perk is 20 plus x.80 scalar not just the stat. I honestly think it's miles ahead of loose change because it provides more than reload and the gun kind of wants velocity to function well. You'll find yourself missing more than expected when trying to track a target to get voltshot or proc it on a target. Possibly wasting the procced perk or ammo. It's not that hard to track but, I think the benefits outweigh loose change. Though, if it got field prep, I might consider that. Tbh though, even at super low reload speeds, it's not that bad. The animation itself is good... about like the exotic sidearms we have. I also think loose change is one of the crappiest perks.. because it can ruin a roll on a weapon if you don't get anything to match it meaning that you'll more rarely be able to take advantage of it. Even though it works with jolt, I'd still rather not see it on my gun lol... I don't even like the icon they created for it. I'm just baffled why it's most people's first choice for paring with voltshot on this gun. Enlightened action provides 10 handling and reload per stack, stacking 5 times. It is comparable to impulse amplifier with the scalar impulse provides, but you don't need handling if you have a decent barrel that at least doesn't lower it. I wouldn't be mad if I got enlightened though.
So I had gotten this weapon on my one and only run of warlords ruin and I have volatile launch, extended mag, lead from gold and adagio with a masterwork in velocity and it's a beast when it comes to yellow bar enemies. I've also noticed it staggers bigger enemies like ogres nicely
Perks feel kinda like a miss for me. Chain Reaction on this thing would be nuts. Envious Assassin, Cascade Point, hell maybe even Cluster Bomb since it can take rocket perks. I feel like they're holding back on this one, kind like how the Enigma has paled over the seasons in comparison to other glaives that have come. In an sense, Indebted Kindness is the first, and thus the **worst** of its archetype that we'll ever see. Expect to see more in Final Shape, and expect them to be nutty.
Beacon Rounds and Voltshot are good enough for me atm. I'm definitely looking forward to the nutty rolls that the next iterations of this archetype will be able to get, though.
adagio for single target voltshot for fun factor and implulse amp for reload. this is arguably one of the best guns in the game and this is your take away? you then decide to list a tier perks while s tier perks are on the gun. nice

My guess is behind the scenes the Bungie higher ups shut down most crazy weapon ideas but don't really care about sidearms so the weapon design team use sidearms as their sandbox for testing new ideas Which would explain a lot
I don't think the higher ups really care about "crazy" weapons. It likely has to do with a few factors, such as whether or not the functionality of said weapon breaks the game entirely and also whether or not the weapon would make the game insanely unbalanced. We know we're getting a Golden Gun sniper and Traveler-beam trace rifle with TFS, and both of those sound kinda crazy tbh.
@@GryphinHusky yeah but this is Bungie we're talking about, the Traveller beam will just be like Agers Sceptre and the golden gun sniper is just another Izanagi
Can I say, thank you for remembering Dreg’s promise; I was never a fan of the perks but the overall design just felt good; I like showing my support for the four armed boys
Its like a Trace Rifle its a "Super Hand Cannon" like traces are "Super Auto Rifles" and gives more Varity for thoes wanting to flex into a double special loadout in PvE. And just like trace rifles its simply ok in PvP, fast TTK but is held back by pisspoor ammo economy and simply not being super useful outside its optimal range
I haven't played around with this one that much but I got Buried Bloodline on our day 1 dungeon run, he's not kidding about using it like a primary. I took it to some lost sectors after, I was about 20 levels below but it still cleans up, didn't start running lown on ammo until the boss, and at that point it was time for heavy anyway
Got that as my first role. Couldn't care about the exotic because this was the true exotic. It's one of the best guns in the game. This thing carried me through a Master solo run of Grasp of Avarice yesterday (I finally got that Gjallarhorn sparrow). With sidearms breaking barrier champ shields this season the Indebted Kindness just ripped through any Barrier Champions I had to face, It works great even from long distances with big time damage per hit making some of those encounters which used to give me some trouble almost trivial. It especially worked wonders on the 3 servitor barrier champs that pop out after damage phases on the final boss.

I doubt this will get much coverage but sundering also affects anti-barrier champions shield. Once you hit that it increases the fire rate and lets you burst down the champion quicker
The Rocket Sidearm can roll with the Permeability perk and what this perk does is "Using your class ability changes this weapons damage type to match your subclass until you stow the weapon".......So you can turn it Solar, or Strand, or Void, or Stasis. Cheers Guardian.
I gotta say, ran a coil with this sidearm and I love that you can one-shot the arc shield enemies. If not one-shot, you're doing real damage, and you get the double AOF damage because of the shield explosion and the sidearm explosion.
I've got a Lead From Gold and Permeability roll that's been really fun on Threadling Warlock with Verity's Brow, gonna be trying it on my Gyrfalcon hunter as well. With anti-barrier sidearms this season it absolutely eats through champ shields.

Managed a 5/5 roll imo volatile launch/High exp ordinance/beacon/voltshot BR masterwork. By far the most versatile and fun special weapon since forbearance
Fun fact: People have invented a pistol with this kind of concept irl, however due to its big flaws it wasn't all that functional. The projectile was incredibly inaccurate not only that it was so slow you could stop the bullet if you put your finger in the barrel before pulling the trigger
It always feels like the first new weapon of an archetype comes out underwhelming with mid perk combos. I’d bet that if they released a new one later on, the perks will be much better.
I call this thing the Glock rocket, or The Glocket for short. My Glocket never leaves my side, I love my Glocket. And my Glocket loves me back. My Glocket keeps me warm at night. My Glocket makes me feel safe. My Glocket is beautiful. My Glocket is powerful. My Glocket... is everything.
I got one with Countermass, High-Velocity Rounds, Enlightened Action and Permeability. The Permeability (jack of all trades) make this roll shine in any situation like this season thanks to Artifact mods, making it strong with Solar. Next season, whether Artifact mods follow/focus another element then this roll will shine again. Don't sleep on Permeability trait.
Add raditant to this sidearm and some surge mods and you can definitely 2 tap tier 10 resilience guardians with body shots. Also, their are anti flinch armor mods which can greatly help with that, and tracking mods are going to be very fun in PVP.
Got Beacon Rounds + Voltshot on my first Indebted Kindness drop. It has yet to leave my loadout since, alongside Dragon’s Breath and an Onslaught + Encore Breakneck.
Gotta say I have an impulse/volt shot as my drop (took four runs), I have not taken it off. I’m using it with precious scars for infinite restoration and spark of beacon fragment that while amplified arc special weapon final blows create a blinding explosion. Have not had this much fun on a build in a while. With anti-barrier sidearm you can cover all three champions with this one weapon
Volt shot needs a buff...when u reload...all ur bullets causes jolts for that amount of seconds and instead of jolt on ya 1st bullet landed...a jolt version of kill clip
You do know Jolt is a debuff you apply to a target that shoots bursts of lightning as you shoot them? It activates basically the moment you apply it on someone and typically kills them too but if you use it on a tougher enemy you can keep shooting them and it keeps jolting. So it makes sense that it works the way it does. It would be way too potent if it was duration based imo.
To add to the PvE element of the weapon. The damage potential of the weapon massively goes up due to its blast radius. Like you fire this into the middle of a group of enemies and they'll all be taking that 17K or so damage from it. Meaning that in actual uses that aren't 1v1, in most cases Kindness is going to be doing huge amounts more damage than Forerunner could ever do. As is, its an absolute beast of a weapon, and as we get more in this archetype I wouldn't be surprised if they become the most popular type of sidearm.
This sidearm has replaced all the uses I had for fusion rifles. Better total damage, maybe better dps, it has range, ad clear, tons of ammo and voltshot if you want more ad clear. I simply love it.
If I ever get a voltshot roll I hope it has flared magwell or tactical mag instead of one of the RL mag perks because it dosent have a reload perk to pair with voltshot. Yeah it's a sidearm so the reload isn't bad but flared mag and a reload masterwork would make it so fast
The perk permeabilty allows you to run triple Stasis or Stand weapons. Cryosthecia 77 and this rocket sidearm paired with tricksleaves, +3 surges, and a cold comfort, noice! swap Cryo for the final warning and do the same crazyness on strand. hard content build, easier to proc quickly.
I'm starting to view Sundering as more like a raid mod style perk. As in, it's best used in the dungeon. After all, wouldn't all the blight turrets count as constructs? Obviously, those things aren't difficult to kill, but that's the only place I can think of where the origin trait could make any sense. Like against the Chineras' proper damage phase, where you can extend it by destroying the blight turrets. Dunno, I'm just spitballing
whoever at bungie that came up with this thing was cooking good. hope they keep it up with the weird quirky stuff. possibly going off the craftening (shotgun autorifle please???)
This might be the only weapon where Attrition Orbs is actually viable. I can see someone building into that to both increase damage and heal themself. I have Beacon Rounds + Attrition Orbs roll but I'll be grinding the dungeon to get my preferred roll, Impulse Amplifier or Enlightened Action + Voltshot.
It has replaced all the functionality I had with fusion rifles. Why use a fusion rifle when this thing has better range, total damage, and maybe even dps?
Funny thing, rocket bullet firearms aren't exactly a new thing, the gyrojet was a likely inspiration for this. The explosive ammunition, however, would be considered a war crime outside of Destiny

I'm definitely looking forward to the nutty rolls that the next iterations of this archetype will be able to get, though.
adagio for single target voltshot for fun factor and implulse amp for reload. this is arguably one of the best guns in the game and this is your take away? you then decide to list a tier perks while s tier perks are on the gun. nice
@@TheFinalIllusionVoltshot and Adagio arent S-tier brodie, but def better than Cluster Bomb lol. Envious Assassin and Chain Reaction on this would be an instant lock for fourth column if it had them lol
Wonder if they didn't put chain reaction out of fear of obsoleting Forbearance.
I heard someone talkin’ shit about my level 891 Enigma
My guess is behind the scenes the Bungie higher ups shut down most crazy weapon ideas but don't really care about sidearms so the weapon design team use sidearms as their sandbox for testing new ideas
Which would explain a lot
I don't think the higher ups really care about "crazy" weapons. It likely has to do with a few factors, such as whether or not the functionality of said weapon breaks the game entirely and also whether or not the weapon would make the game insanely unbalanced. We know we're getting a Golden Gun sniper and Traveler-beam trace rifle with TFS, and both of those sound kinda crazy tbh.
@@GryphinHusky yeah but this is Bungie we're talking about, the Traveller beam will just be like Agers Sceptre and the golden gun sniper is just another Izanagi
Destiny Devs: What if Mountaintop was a sidearm?
Can I say, thank you for remembering Dreg’s promise; I was never a fan of the perks but the overall design just felt good; I like showing my support for the four armed boys
It's like someone on the weapons team at Bungie saw the Gyrojet and was like "we should add that to the game." And I'm here for it.
it’s a pocket rocket. that’s it. that’s the joke.
It looks like a voltshot wave frame sidearm. Right now I’m using the automatic plunder sidearm. I got to get me the upgrade.
I think there's a case to be made to run this guy with permeability. Making this thing a solar weapon might be pretty crazy with the mods this season.
Ayyyy your new vid actually Popped up on my notifications! Good deal.
Got that as my first role. Couldn't care about the exotic because this was the true exotic. It's one of the best guns in the game.
(Edit: Alright for you goobers that are saying "🤓 It's not end game viable." ... And? I meant to say it's one of the most fun guns in the game. I've had the same run and gun end game build for the last couple of seasons it's not that serious.
Its a very fun weapon but nowhere near one of the best in the game
@@HighFiveGhostenjoyer428definitely one of the best all arounder specials
@@HighFiveGhostenjoyer428a weapon is only as good as the wielder
@@RuiNDieM1988furthest thing from the truth lol, a mediocre player with Wish Ender will still do better than a phenomenal player with a sidearm in GM content
I love how there's people with Wish Ender stuck up their rear so much they ignore everything else because the gun can't solo gms by itself
Kinda glad they brought the weapon frame early so we can test it and get more of them when the expansion drops.
What roll do you have? And good job man.
@@DjLuCKyCHaRM Yeah I got one I really like.......Voltshot/Enlightened Action........High Velocity rounds mag......Volatile launch barrel.........Re-load masterwork. With Enlightened Action/Reload Masterwork/Volatile launch working together it makes this specific roll a very fast and very powerful pocket rocket.
@@Mattblaze1477 I am trying to farm for one with your roll or lead from Gold + adagio. I can one shot the boss, but havent had any luck... Got helmets, gauntlets, bow, swords and a couple of sidearms with the most BS rolls... I dont understand that they just remove perks, nobody would use anyway... Thank you for your reply.
Has anyone noticed how abnormally expensive everything was for Bright Dust today ?
Got me a Volshot / Beacon Rounds roll and I love it. Pocket Rocket for sure, very forgiving and with some simple ammo mods, the ammo economy is great.
You see, now here's what i'm praying for a solar rocket assisted side arm with incandescent and ambitious assassin preferably also craftable for those sweet enhanced perks then I wanna pair it up against sunshine to see which one is better
guess what
U can use this weapons foundry perk to destroy eyes in warlord's ruin in 1 shot as they are constructs.
I doubt this will get much coverage but sundering also affects anti-barrier champions shield. Once you hit that it increases the fire rate and lets you burst down the champion quicker
Man.. I'd love to have a solar version of this
The Rocket Sidearm can roll with the Permeability perk and what this perk does is "Using your class ability changes this weapons damage type to match your subclass until you stow the weapon".......So you can turn it Solar, or Strand, or Void, or Stasis. Cheers Guardian.
Might be the first time Cross openly acknowledged the two gambit players
I gotta say, ran a coil with this sidearm and I love that you can one-shot the arc shield enemies. If not one-shot, you're doing real damage, and you get the double AOF damage because of the shield explosion and the sidearm explosion.
My second ever roll of this thing has lead from gold and voltshot. I think with a heavy ammo finder, I could basically use this as a primary
It takes special ammo right?
As someone who played the entire borderlands series, i am happy that i can experience it here
I've got a Lead From Gold and Permeability roll that's been really fun on Threadling Warlock with Verity's Brow, gonna be trying it on my Gyrfalcon hunter as well. With anti-barrier sidearms this season it absolutely eats through champ shields.
Wondering if you can pair this Forerunner. I know double special was nerfed but they both have great ammo economy
With special finisher and scavenger mods, you could probably make it work.
You should start taking over for Ehoar who seems to be AWOL.. dude made the best build vids.. you already took over dps of weapons so you'd be the top content creator for destiny if you did this
Devils ruin trick sleeves was a fun build back in the day, might have to run that again
Managed a 5/5 roll imo volatile launch/High exp ordinance/beacon/voltshot BR masterwork. By far the most versatile and fun special weapon since forbearance
Bacon rounds+Adagio is easy 2 bodyshots on most resiliences
Fun fact: People have invented a pistol with this kind of concept irl, however due to its big flaws it wasn't all that functional. The projectile was incredibly inaccurate not only that it was so slow you could stop the bullet if you put your finger in the barrel before pulling the trigger
It always feels like the first new weapon of an archetype comes out underwhelming with mid perk combos. I’d bet that if they released a new one later on, the perks will be much better.
I want this thing so badly with lead from gold and permiability, this thing with volitaile rounds or ignitions looks really fun
How would you get ignitions from making it do solar damage?
@@bitingwinds9208one of the seasonal perks makes it where precision kills with solar weapons causes an ignition.
As an avid Forerunner user, this hits me right in that special sidearm niche I love
Done this dungeon for the first time this week, master and normal 5 times, got this sidearm don't care about the exotic anymore, this is insane
As a Gambit Methead using this sidearm in Gambit, the very last sentence of this review makes me feel SEEN
What about a renewal grasp hunter to take advantage of the origin trait? Every duskfield provides a crystal to shoot and proc the effect.
Nothing like triple dipping in champion stuns with one weapon. I love this rocket pistol.
Cool little thing, "Constructs" appear to work on cyclops and shriekers (as they are considered vehicles in the games coding)
Have you done a top kinetic and energy legendary dps load out video for this expansion yet?
Volt shot needs a buff...when u reload...all ur bullets causes jolts for that amount of seconds and instead of jolt on ya 1st bullet landed...a jolt version of kill clip
You do know Jolt is a debuff you apply to a target that shoots bursts of lightning as you shoot them? It activates basically the moment you apply it on someone and typically kills them too but if you use it on a tougher enemy you can keep shooting them and it keeps jolting.
So it makes sense that it works the way it does. It would be way too potent if it was duration based imo.
@@ROFLWAFFLELAWL4 i appreciate it. I think volt shot needs a buff
Cracked out of its mind with volt shot
Got myself a loose change, voltshot roll the other day and it those two go beautiful together
First roll I got was enlightened action and voltshot. Feels great but I’m finding myself having trouble picking a kinetic primary to use with it.
*BREAKNECK*
@@thesonicfanboi OH SHIT I FORGOT BREAKNECK IS BACK YES
@@Reksrat YEAH BABYYYY (and I got the roll a couple hours ago it slaps ((subsistence+onslaught)))
How do you get this gun? What activity will it drop from?
You could use it with stasis and shoot the crystals to get the extra reload speed, but I think that original trait is mostly for PvP
If I ever get a voltshot roll I hope it has flared magwell or tactical mag instead of one of the RL mag perks because it dosent have a reload perk to pair with voltshot. Yeah it's a sidearm so the reload isn't bad but flared mag and a reload masterwork would make it so fast
This sidearm with deconstruct, and anti barrier sidearms allows it to 2 tap a titan barricade.
Ive noticed scorpion turrets proc it
whoever at bungie that came up with this thing was cooking good. hope they keep it up with the weird quirky stuff. possibly going off the craftening (shotgun autorifle please???)
Its almost like having Mountaintop back. More range and more mob control with Voltshot, but less major and boss damage.
I don't understand why so little people are talking about this thing, it is amazing everywhere and for sure my new favourite legendary in the game
It has replaced all the functionality I had with fusion rifles. Why use a fusion rifle when this thing has better range, total damage, and maybe even dps?
When arc artifact mods come, this weapon will be glorious.
using this with monte carlo for my arc build and it’s absolutely nuts
So Torgue finally made his way from boderlands to destiny. I love it.
Funny thing, rocket bullet firearms aren't exactly a new thing, the gyrojet was a likely inspiration for this. The explosive ammunition, however, would be considered a war crime outside of Destiny
got a loose change + voltshot roll day one, it’s a beast
