I think it's worth mentioning that you do get 4 tokens from wave 10+ a higher chance to see the tormentor rush event, with them being at their easiest. Legend 10s are very competitive with 50s and fit quite nicely in the turn off your brain and do 30 minutes of Destiny kind of vibe. 50s are more rewarding while being more demanding of your time and attention, I think they're both in a good spot and have something for everyone
Yea but the wave 50 thing is only worth for people who can consistently get a full clear if someone's team is dying anytime before wave 40 it would be better to stick to the wave 10 farm as all of the actual buffs are after wave 39 and onward

Don't sleep on Rampage + Killing Tally with Actium War Rig. That auto loading means you basically have the Reconstruction + Killing Tally Commemoration but with Rampage for free. It rips through stuff with great ammo economy
Meh you won't use actium in any content that warrants double dmg MG perks. Everything will die in 1 bullet up to like -18 that isn't orange and yellow+s are better off sniping/rocket'ing. Yeh i get it funzies blah blah but endgame isn't 'fun' anyways everything is a bullet sponge. And yeh I've solo'd a couple of GMs before you start crying muh endgame.

if you've gotten it at least once you could just keep opening the first secret chest in dsc on 3 characters each week, i started like a month ago because i forgot the chest existed and i'm now at 3/5 for the pattern
I get bored doing regular runs on 10 wave normal, after 4 runs. I can’t imagine doing 50 on legend more than once A good game mode but investing a hour doing the same thing is not my thing. I like strikes play mode as at least it mixes up things and is more relaxing mixes with intense moments I’m a solo player now so hammerhead and MC are a must MC turned me into a hand cannon main now 😁 Just feels good
The solo player experience for onslaught is awful. People will not play smart, not communicate, waste salvage, and if they’re dying and being the weakest link they’ll leave midway through or leave right after the first wipe
This is good to know, I've been wanting to get into this mode, but I wasn't sure if I should LFG or not. Though I'll probably bite the solo bullet until I'm confident I can hold my own in an LFG.
To be fair back in the day Hammerhead was the go-to PvP MG. It has a base 90 Aim Assistance. Kind of like how the Multimach and even Summoner came back with better PvE perks, I think that's whats going on here. The weapon stats itself still reflect the PvP stats of the old but with perks that give it a better leg in PvE. The old Hammerhead at best I think had Feeding Frenzy + Rampage as it's PvE perk and that was about it. It had things like Genesis and Shield Disorient which was ok for harder level content but for the most part it's perk pool was very PvP centric.

This is exactly how I was feeling about Hammerhead. I like the feeling of Commemoration loading while stowed and pulling it out with a giant magazine. Hammerhead’s double damage perks are great at ripping through adds but the base mag feels so bad in comparison. Swapping it for Envious or Rewind just makes it feel like Commemoration with a different coat of paint. I’ll keep grinding and keep any fun rolls I get but for now I’m sticking with Commemoration.
It still frustrates the hell out of me that we are in a situation where we would say to people not to even TRY and finish Legend 50 if youre going for max efficiency and cant quite handle it. Because we should be in a situation where we are saying things more like "if you are constantly making it comfortably to 30 or 40 ABSOLUTELY go for 50, why wouldnt you, you get such a big influx of drops for finish the 50." Like, why is bungie still so afraid of givings us drops, I feel like the coil is INFINTELY more rewarding for the amount of time it takes. That big room of like 5 or 6 chests at the end of platinum run is just not there for onslaught.
I agree with the general point, but I don't think it's Bungie's fault per se, it's just that many gamers are unwilling to try to stretch their skills out at all, either because they don't believe they can or they just don't want to interact with games in that way for whatever reason. The best experiences in games are often difficult ones, so I like to encourage people to go for 'em, even if they don't think they can handle it.

50 isn’t that hard it gets annoying as hell that people randomly leave after 30 waves that went by completely with ease. I could understand if you had a random constantly dying in the lower waves and you know this isn’t going to happen but when all three of you basically cake walk to 30-35 why leave? Three times yesterday. Good solid quick moving runs and someone leaves and suddenly it’s just two of you and no replacement teammate at all.

Ive ran both legend to 50 multiple times , ive ran the 10 one as well. Deleted countless hammerheads, forbearance, and falling guillitine and still no god rolls on any, starting to piss me off already!!
Onslaught gives a hidden reload bonus based on how many stacks of Onslaught you have. With base reload stat, Onslaught x3 puts you at 95 reload speed. No need for another reload method, but you should always consider a Loader mod on your arms, especially if you can run it Harmonically.
IIRC x1 is 15 reload, x2 is 25, and x3 gives 35. In terms of reload: I think Feeding Frenzy is the best not only for the +reload stats but because Feeding Frenzy is also a reload scalar allowing it to go passed cap.

I have a Midnight Coup with Payload/Tremors. Infinite range! It's so fun! I wish those shiny weapons were Adept versions. I'm already set with my rolls on my normals guns, and shinies with bad rolls will just be dismantled. Maybe next expansion
As someone with about 50k kills between 2 Timelost Fatebringers, I have never dropped them faster than when I got firefly/Ofa midnight coup, now I just gotta get that perfect shiny version
i really enjoy rampage with killing tally. together theyre 63.1 and with 2 surges and a major spec it comes out to a 87.8% damage increase. just makes every bullet count more. its also good add clear with grav lance on a void build because of destabilizing.
On console a target lock fttc hammerhead is actually a good pick for something like GMs. It works well for champions and mini bosses where you need to keep your distance. It’s much more stable than retrofit so you can proc both target lock and fttc at range. Retrofit kicks like a mule on console so trying to hit every bullet on a target further away is more difficult.
Retrofit is attainable through exotic rotator. I wanna say seraph but that may be wrong. The roll is worth having for certain long style bosses (easy 8-9 mill on tether hunter in warlords etc).
Me with 2 more Retrofits that can have Deep sight actived on them in my inventory. I knew I would want it so one day when it was at Banshee I garbed enough for crafting when I got the Deepsight activations. So for now I've been using my trusty Shattered Cipher. Snice, like you said works well with Void Hunters, using Gyrfalcons, All the volatile and all the time.
I love my qua xaphan, dynamic sway and destabilizing. I don’t know why I would need another void ad clear option… I seemingly always am playing off meta lol
I enjoyed running a level 50 but found myself constantly wondering when it was going to be over and needing to save my teammates who kept doing silly things. One hour is a long time to dedicate to a matchmade activity with no guarantee of winning, so probably won't go back to it. Good to hear the ROI isn't that much lower for 10s.
I think people are sleeping on the fact that Hammerhead has destabilizing rounds in the first column. I've been running around with Destabilizing rounds + Killing Tally on my hammerhead for my void hunter ad clear and it's felt like a monster all the way up through Legend 50 boss rooms. Due to hammer head being a machine gun, it doesn't have the same issue as primaries with the same perk where 'ohh, this single volatile proc doesn't let me kill the enemy any faster'. You can drop a 3 shot into a 2 shot and also completely wipe the wave with this set up, procing volatile on everything without the need for volatile rounds (something that can be a bit annoying to keep active on Orpheus hunter specifically) and giving you the ability to quickly stack killing tally again in very few shots after a marksmans dodge reload. It feels utterly fantastic and I'd suggest going for a roll like this if one can manage it. Destabilizing/Onslaught wouldn't be bad either but as he pointed out, ammo economy exists and as fun as Onslaught is it's just burning more of your heavy ammo. But yeah, strongly recommend this for any Orpheus hunters out there, it will treat you right.
I've been really enjoying an Explosive Payload/One for All Midnight Coup with Alloy Mag even though it goes against my intuition; it's quite nice when i do remember to empty the mag or just run dodge/etc
I'm glad I can use my old Hammerhead soon, because as nice as the new rolls are, it doesn't get MULLIGAN, which is better than you think on Machine Guns. The Season of Plunder MG could get it, but that thing couldn't stay on target, whereas Hammerhead can happily sweep multiple targets and save enough ammo to matter.
Envious Assassin has become one of my favorite heavy perks on Hammerhead/Edge Transit. I usually don't pull out my Heavy unless we're getting absolutely swarmed with adds, and when I do, it's hilarious to have 200+ in the mag. Killing Tally helps me make sure I get the maximum damage out of those 200 rounds.
I gotta say, I got a shiny envious/surrounded hammerhead and I will never use another LMG. My previous favorite was corrective measure but I can very comfortably scrap all of them.
I got one with envious assassin and onslaught, and while its not a meta roll or anything, its different enough from Commemoration for me to enjoy using so keep an eye out for that roll if it sounds fun to you
I'm cool with my curated Hammer Forged, Armor Piercing, 4th times the charm, Killing Tally Brave Hammerhead. 85Range with 90Aim Assist is nuts. You don't miss.

I have an Unwavering Duty with Killing Tally and Subsistence and its amazing. I dunno why I dont see this getting used more. Still a 450 machinegun and with this season being wild with solar its so good.
I have a shiny drop of Hammerhead that's envious/fttc in the third and killing tally in the fourth. It's good for perk swapping where applicable on my double special void build, but it's still a machine gun with those limitations
Fourth Times and Target Lock was what I went for with my hammerhead, that thing is nice for boss DPS Destabilizing and kill tally is nice for a void add clear build 👌
I find it useful to an extent for lower level add clearing, but without having an auxiliary perk (say chain reaction or firefly) to kill large swath's of adds (and even higher level enemy), it takes too long TTK with yellow bars to the point where you get overrun (in Onslaught in particular). I recall back in the day the original hammerhead seemed to clear adds faster, but there probably weren't as many coming at you in the content at that time. I've gone back to my old faithful Gjallahorn and even Thunderlord, or any of the recent grenade launchers that have chain reaction perk (before it gets nerfed during final shape of course). I stopped farming for it and am pretty much done farming now as I got a blast furnace with kinetic tremors and firefly that I like. Doesn't appear Luna's Howl will be worth my time as I have a few hand cannons I already like and Sunshot has been by go to for some time (PVE only).
I noticed with your onslaught hammerhead you had extended mag but I actually think it's probably better to go with flared magwell because with onslaught x3 you have 95 reload and stack that on top of flared magwell and you should be able to keep the onslaught between reloads. Of course it still won't have the best ammo economy dumping your ammo out so fast but I do think that's the way to go.
I have basically the same roll (8/9 traits/ MW) on your hammer head except i have Killing Tally instead of onslaught. It is much better for ammo economy. I get 3 kills to get KT up to full damage and then even having rampage x1 the thing cooks! X3 absolutely burns the world and it is quite fun.

Use the in-game lfg for onslaught legend, you can find good people there.

Its because enhanced killing tally increases reserves. Which is what everyone runs on their commemoration

I wish those shiny weapons were Adept versions. I'm already set with my rolls on my normals guns, and shinies with bad rolls will just be dismantled. Maybe next expansion
As someone with about 50k kills between 2 Timelost Fatebringers, I have never dropped them faster than when I got firefly/Ofa midnight coup, now I just gotta get that perfect shiny version

i really enjoy rampage with killing tally. together theyre 63.1 and with 2 surges and a major spec it comes out to a 87.8% damage increase. just makes every bullet count more. its also good add clear with grav lance on a void build because of destabilizing.
you can still farm retrofit from seraphs shield when its the active mission. There are a bunch of other weapons that can drop too, though.

hello markiplier here, whats the best method to farm onslaught xp without legend mode; playlist 10 runs or all 50?
On console a target lock fttc hammerhead is actually a good pick for something like GMs. It works well for champions and mini bosses where you need to keep your distance. It’s much more stable than retrofit so you can proc both target lock and fttc at range. Retrofit kicks like a mule on console so trying to hit every bullet on a target further away is more difficult.

Retrofit is attainable through exotic rotator. I wanna say seraph but that may be wrong. The roll is worth having for certain long style bosses (easy 8-9 mill on tether hunter in warlords etc).
Me with 2 more Retrofits that can have Deep sight actived on them in my inventory. I knew I would want it so one day when it was at Banshee I garbed enough for crafting when I got the Deepsight activations. So for now I've been using my trusty Shattered Cipher. Snice, like you said works well with Void Hunters, using Gyrfalcons, All the volatile and all the time.

Envious on Hammerhead is also really good, for the most part in like non GM or Contest content, I have still around 150 shots of KT x5, super fun
I love my qua xaphan, dynamic sway and destabilizing. I don’t know why I would need another void ad clear option… I seemingly always am playing off meta lol
I enjoyed running a level 50 but found myself constantly wondering when it was going to be over and needing to save my teammates who kept doing silly things. One hour is a long time to dedicate to a matchmade activity with no guarantee of winning, so probably won't go back to it. Good to hear the ROI isn't that much lower for 10s.

I think people are sleeping on the fact that Hammerhead has destabilizing rounds in the first column. I've been running around with Destabilizing rounds + Killing Tally on my hammerhead for my void hunter ad clear and it's felt like a monster all the way up through Legend 50 boss rooms. Due to hammer head being a machine gun, it doesn't have the same issue as primaries with the same perk where 'ohh, this single volatile proc doesn't let me kill the enemy any faster'. You can drop a 3 shot into a 2 shot and also completely wipe the wave with this set up, procing volatile on everything without the need for volatile rounds (something that can be a bit annoying to keep active on Orpheus hunter specifically) and giving you the ability to quickly stack killing tally again in very few shots after a marksmans dodge reload.
It feels utterly fantastic and I'd suggest going for a roll like this if one can manage it. Destabilizing/Onslaught wouldn't be bad either but as he pointed out, ammo economy exists and as fun as Onslaught is it's just burning more of your heavy ammo. But yeah, strongly recommend this for any Orpheus hunters out there, it will treat you right.
I've been really enjoying an Explosive Payload/One for All Midnight Coup with Alloy Mag even though it goes against my intuition; it's quite nice when i do remember to empty the mag or just run dodge/etc
I'm glad I can use my old Hammerhead soon, because as nice as the new rolls are, it doesn't get MULLIGAN, which is better than you think on Machine Guns. The Season of Plunder MG could get it, but that thing couldn't stay on target, whereas Hammerhead can happily sweep multiple targets and save enough ammo to matter.

Envious Assassin has become one of my favorite heavy perks on Hammerhead/Edge Transit. I usually don't pull out my Heavy unless we're getting absolutely swarmed with adds, and when I do, it's hilarious to have 200+ in the mag. Killing Tally helps me make sure I get the maximum damage out of those 200 rounds.
Envious is really good on that neomuna machine gun too
I gotta say, I got a shiny envious/surrounded hammerhead and I will never use another LMG. My previous favorite was corrective measure but I can very comfortably scrap all of them.

I got one with envious assassin and onslaught, and while its not a meta roll or anything, its different enough from Commemoration for me to enjoy using so keep an eye out for that roll if it sounds fun to you

Very first Hammerhead I got was a shiny with Rampage/Rewind Rounds and Killing Tally/Target Lock. That was a short weapon farm.
I'm cool with my curated Hammer Forged, Armor Piercing, 4th times the charm, Killing Tally Brave Hammerhead. 85Range with 90Aim Assist is nuts. You don't miss.

Took me exactly 1000 waves of Legend Onslaught to get to the Coup roll I wanted. Idk if I have the will to go and get Hammerhead after that.

Reconstitution and controlling your firing ends up into basically not ever needing to reload ever
Subsistence requires kills and because of elites and mini bosses you'll have to reload eventually
Only problem ur not taking into account the time it takes to go into the activity and leave it, which takes sometime 2-3 min
Our only clear so far was around 90mins😅 so 10 wave farming seems a little easier and less stressful

Hammerhead is behind Commemoration no matter what roll you get.
I have an Unwavering Duty with Killing Tally and Subsistence and its amazing. I dunno why I dont see this getting used more. Still a 450 machinegun and with this season being wild with solar its so good.

I have a shiny drop of Hammerhead that's envious/fttc in the third and killing tally in the fourth. It's good for perk swapping where applicable on my double special void build, but it's still a machine gun with those limitations
Fourth Times and Target Lock was what I went for with my hammerhead, that thing is nice for boss DPS Destabilizing and kill tally is nice for a void add clear build 👌

I find it useful to an extent for lower level add clearing, but without having an auxiliary perk (say chain reaction or firefly) to kill large swath's of adds (and even higher level enemy), it takes too long TTK with yellow bars to the point where you get overrun (in Onslaught in particular). I recall back in the day the original hammerhead seemed to clear adds faster, but there probably weren't as many coming at you in the content at that time. I've gone back to my old faithful Gjallahorn and even Thunderlord, or any of the recent grenade launchers that have chain reaction perk (before it gets nerfed during final shape of course). I stopped farming for it and am pretty much done farming now as I got a blast furnace with kinetic tremors and firefly that I like. Doesn't appear Luna's Howl will be worth my time as I have a few hand cannons I already like and Sunshot has been by go to for some time (PVE only).
On midnight coup does firefly damage count for one for all stack and another question does firefly also get buffed by one for all?

I noticed with your onslaught hammerhead you had extended mag but I actually think it's probably better to go with flared magwell because with onslaught x3 you have 95 reload and stack that on top of flared magwell and you should be able to keep the onslaught between reloads. Of course it still won't have the best ammo economy dumping your ammo out so fast but I do think that's the way to go.
I have basically the same roll (8/9 traits/ MW) on your hammer head except i have Killing Tally instead of onslaught. It is much better for ammo economy. I get 3 kills to get KT up to full damage and then even having rampage x1 the thing cooks! X3 absolutely burns the world and it is quite fun.
