Where GoTD lacked, WR COMPLETELY made up for it. My least favorite aspect of GoTD, were the extremely long and slow underwater sections that would take up a good portion of the dungeon. However for WR, these sections in between encounters are actually super fun and have a bunch of secrets for you to discover. OH MY GOD GoTD bosses have such a spongy health pool. It seems so much worse with those super durable shield during damage phases. WR has some beefy health pools but you are able to trigger DPS phases fast enough that it doesn’t seem all that noticeable. Damage phases in this dungeon are so much more unique and engaging. They don’t just have a single spot to have DPS, it moves and you need to be a little on your toes.
The damage phase also allow you to improve. If you manage to get enough of those scorn things on the floor you get more time in damage phase. But it also doesn't matter if you don't get them all, boob friendly but also sweat friendly

@@VanpyroGaming0 and it’s still soloable by anyone with an ok exotic and decent weapons.. that’s how easy it is.. solo flawless may be a bit harder but it’s really so easy to solo
Me and my fireteam have been running that exotic, so fun to use and the setup for it is so straight forward id say its arguably the best nade dps option in the game (rotating between powered melees and the nades are the best way to use it IMO). Only flaw it has is it barley gives allies ability regen on initial use. Could be a bug idk!
Ghost of the deep and soire of the watcher are easily the two worst dungeons in the game. Ghost of the deep is simply one of the worst activities in the game.
During the big damage phase for the final boss. Don't worry about the blights. My team never worried about it since we were destroying them with ignitions from dragons' breath. Also polaris lance is pretty decent during the fight.
Dragon’s breath is absolutely (fittingly) meta for this whole dungeon. The ignitions help clear ads that spawn during dps in the first encounter, stagger the ogre, and extend the dps phase of the final boss (who happens to be a dragon lol). I used a loadout I built last season and modified for the weapon and it worked amazingly.
I agree 100% on the Dungeon itself being top tier. The mechanics are fun and the bosses are not huge bullet sponges which is a nice change after Ghosts of the Deep. The aesthetic is just awesome too. Shame about the loot, the only underwhelming part.
There's a hidden easter egg in the beginning of the dungeon, go to the first dead end before you need to jump up the rocks and if you jump around the wall to your left youll see platforms with grass that you can jump on, if you keep going youll eventually find a cave of a skeletons that look like old school version of a hunter titan and warlock.
Also, Prison segment?? 11/10. Best thing ever for first clear! I loved being stuck in there for almost 20 minutes with my dudes trying to figure out wth we need to do! GG bungie!
the solo experience is very difficult for players like me who are great at handling or understanding whats happening I made it through phase one and only ever got to damage phase once yesterday. I died because a shadow thrawl bloced my shot so I rag quit. Its exceptionally well made, not glitch, great atmosphere and design 10/10. I wish there was a mode that did not reward anything but ran you through the mechanics with tutorials and tool tips so I could learn how to do the dungeon without feeling overwhelmed.
Don't give up, skeleton. It's all a learning process. You hit the damage phase. That's progress. Now it's just consistency. Eliminate risk where possible.
“A little lackluster” is such an understatement regarding the loot. Both sidearms are cool, I’ll give them that. BUT the bow, sword, and sniper ain’t cutting it. These weapons should be good considering they’re endgame loot. These are barely scratching the surface of seasonal content level…
I absolutely love all the dark souls vibes and references in this dungeon, whether it be the trapped chests being like the mimics or the shiny screeb that runs away being like the crystal lizards. This is easily my favorite dungeon so far in the game!

He even got the exotic, which is an insanely cool weapon to have. Plus, the rocket sidearm and bow are both good asf, 3/5 weapons being good doesn't sound bad to me.
@@michelangeluhhh Anecdotal fun doesn't deter from the fact that they have become the re skin developers. The side arm is literally a reskin of the stasis exotic sidearm. They're model is old as hell. But they know suckers will pay for it day in and day out so they don't really have to evolve much. What's worse is they have the audacity to bring back sunset weapons with new perks to make you re grind the same damn weapon they vaulted. So good for you that the dungeon gave you and your loved one a good time, but many of us see right thru this song and dance. That's all we're saying.
I’m pretty happy with the loot, but I’m also crazy for strand weapons and bows, so a legendary strand bow in addition to the crafted exotic we’re getting in a couple weeks is everything I wanted out of this season. Also the dungeon exotic is very cool.
I was really fond of Dungeons before, but this is easily my favourite. I love snow, castles and Space Magic™. The combination of them is insane. I love the warlord storyline of a Dragon that became a friend after it was slain and that Fikrul and Crow dilemma is probably my most favourite story in all of Destiny
I was sold on the Dungeon when you escape the jail and jump towards the castle only to hear the Inner Light song play, my whole fireteam shut up for the song as we jumped our way to the castle.
Cudos to bungie for this dungeon. They did a great job. Not perfect but a massive step in the right direction... A couple things annoy me one being that after the quest that makers tour run it multiple times your reward is just an exotic engram...
My friends and I have been doing day 1 dungeons since pit and this one was great. This dungeon and the coil are two things that will actually get me playing a bit this season.
But isn’t the main thing loot? No disrespect but if the loot isn’t good then people will not play it. It sucks that a good dungeon has less than desirable loot.
Love that they added puzzles and a secret boss fight for an exotic/catalyst in this dungeon like they did with xenophage back in Pit of heresy. Was probably one of my favorite things about it back in the day
I really hope they dive more into the _fantasy_ of the space-fantasy more in the future. I think things like this feel sooo good for Destiny--even for other races/factions. Lived-in, old fantasy feeling environments, to me, feel a lot better and satifying to explore, than high-sci-fi, cyberpunk locations we've been getting lately
Im a massive fan of this dungeon. It was a very fun experience trying to learn the mechanics in it and the overall Theme behind it is amazing because i absolutely love the midevil castle feeling
I think the location is cool. An abandoned castle on a snowy mountain will always be interesting. The mechanics were easy enough to learn and get through. The lore and vibe make the dungeon feel like a dark age kingdom. My critiques are that I wish the second portion of jumping up the moutain had more snowy effects, rather than just placing enemies everywhere. Like get cold stacks and get to the next torch before you die. I also think the last boss has too much going on. Like you want me to stay in a tiny circle while being shot by adds, being hit by an immune asshole, and make sure a blight ball isn't constantly damaging me on the ground. I thought it was just too much damage spread out. Get rid of one of those damage outputs, and I think the last boss would be perfect. My choice would be the blight balls. I personally think ghost of the deep is my favorite dungeon right now. It is really unique, and traversing down an ocean is awesome. Then, the reveal at the end of Oryx body, you immediately know what is at stake here. While in Warlords Ruin, I have to fight a giant eyeball, which doesn't mean anything to me until I listen to a byf lore video.
I love so many things about this dungeon. The traps were one of my favorite parts about grasps, cause walking around and watching your friend get absolutely annihilated was so much fun, and having your friends go through their first time without knowing the traps led to some baity activities. But, my only actual problem was final encounter. Obviously, we don’t know what works amazing on it at the moment, but even with decent builds, it felt like it overstayed its welcome way too far. To be completely fair, I was like 20 ish hours no sleep at that point, so me being tired might’ve had something to do with that
watching some of the early footage made me realise how my biggest regret was not getting a mini tool with encandescense hopefully banshe or xur one day will have it
Definitely the best dungeon they've done. I really enjoyed going through it and have been through it multiple times now. For me it's a 9/10 and that extra point would have been for unique looking bosses with their own models instead of the same we've seen before. However credit where credit is due. I never once felt like this dungeon was a chore unlike ghost of the deep. Fights that keep you moving and bosses not having millions of hp with shields on top too.
did this dungeon day 1, fully blind as a 2-man and OH BOY! this was the most fun i had in destiny 2 in god knows how long. it took us quit a bit to get the prison break mechanic as we didnt realize the cogs can turn in 2 directions and the hot potato during the endboss took us quite long too to understand. But once understood all mechanics felt simple yet complex-y enough for a dungeon and pretty fresh. The setting, the aesthetics and whatnot is toptier even for bungo. While yes, the weapons arent the best, still neet to get such types to enable more buildvariety even if its not insane mega dps cracked kinda weapons.
I've only played since Beyond Light, but dungeons are my favourite content and for me I this was the most fun I've had on a day one experience, it was awesome . From a gameplay standpoint they absolutely nailed it in my opinion , I agree with the 10/10
They thought of everything for this dungeon. Even if you already found them, helping blueberries find the bones will give you dark ether toward your quest. It's a really nice touch.
I wholeheartedly agree the dungeon gameplay and aesthetic is 10/10 Feeling of discovery, excellent pacing, fun mechanics and DPS sequences, it's all just so fantastic! Sour taste from Gotd has been cleansed for me
I enjoy everything Destiny and how far it’s come. But when I first saw concept art for this game. My mind went wild with thinking this game was going to be a massive open world; with missions and raids with friends and almost endless exploring. The feel this dungeon gave. It definitely recharged those feelings and emotions I felt back then in this dungeon. Would only hope they partially expand on this. I know people don’t love this game but I don’t care. The atmosphere and gunplay/gameplay is not like any other game. Despite all the negatives we’ve faced some more than others. I just play this game for my personal fun and enjoyment.
Easily my favorite dungeon in D2. They nailed the space magic vibes, and it gave me that sense of adventure that drew me to destiny in the first place. Massive W to bungie on this one.
As much as I love scifi. I, and I think many other people would agree, believe that destiny is at its best when themed around those medieval things stuffed into our crazy shooter world that is destiny. Forsaken, Taken King, Witch queen. Our most favorite elements has us storming castles and finding occult hidden dungeons. All while shooting aliens, helping the space elves (the awoken) and fighting off wish granting dragons. These are the spins on things we love most. For as much as I love the aesthetic of places like neomuna, it will never compare to the sheer level of wonder I get when I ascend the warlord’s peak, go through the dreaming city, or storm the dreadnought. I think I have gotten a sense of what I am calling “the seasonal effect” where I want to dive deeper on ideas presented in seasons beyond what is oresented at a somewhat surface level. However, these things that focus on these elements that they know make destiny so special, is when we get that old D1 vibe again abd we just are on the edge of our seat trying to discover the world ahead. This is why the hive are so consistently the best villains we get, its because the tie into this so well. The cabal, vex, and fallen always felt secondary even back in D1. But when the hive, or the taken, or the awoken got involved, you knew things were about to get real. Anyways my point is I love the theming of this dungeon and they hit that sense of discovery we crave so much so well. The encounters were dynamic and fun and not frustrating at all.
When it comes to the spinning disks, another way to look at it is each skeleton will have the scratch marks next to either their left or right hand. And you can determine counter clockwise and clockwise
One of the coolest dungeons, just wish there was better weapons to chase. the side arms are cool, but the fact that the dungeons only primary weapon you can go for is a bow, instantly keeps me from going back in there once I get the exotic and its caty. I also wish the weapons looked more from that time period, but loved the castle and puzzles

And the dungeon literally reminded me of the Witcher it looks straight out of it and it also reminded me of GOW ragnorok with kratos traversing around puzzles in Midgard during fimbulwinter. Definitely the best dungeon and definitely going for the title for it.
There isn't a single thing I disliked about the dungeon. It feels perfect. My hopes have risen for final shape after this masterpiece.
@@alex62965 Nah this is literally the easiest dungeon ever, if you can’t solo this you shouldn’t play pve, it’s a joke, my team finished it in 56 min without looking up a single thing running old ass shit, we got to the end and where like “that’s it?” Not the mention the quest you get and the end for a RANDOM EXOTIC YOU HAVE ALREADY 😂😂😂😂😂
@@theredpillneo2296The solo experience of a dungeon is radically different to a 3-man experience.
@@VanpyroGaming0 and it’s still soloable by anyone with an ok exotic and decent weapons.. that’s how easy it is.. solo flawless may be a bit harder but it’s really so easy to solo
I couldn't agree more the dungeon is so well balanced! It felt like a great accomplishment as a solo!!! Shoutout *Apotheosis Veil* 😭🤟🏿🔥
Mechaneers tricksleeves + cryosthesia + the rocket sidearm... Pretty great setup.
It really is the best dungeon. Now my favorite dungeon next to ghosts of the deep. It very refreshing and actually feels like a dungeon.
Ghost of the deep and soire of the watcher are easily the two worst dungeons in the game. Ghost of the deep is simply one of the worst activities in the game.
@@FlashesSoccer011skill issue. Also my opinion. Idc.
@lDoxology disliking something isn't a skill issue. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
My friends and I have done this dungeon so many times and not once did we feel bored by it. 10/10
The sniper runs precision instrument in the 4th column. I have a reconstruction and precision instrument roll that goes hard.
I agree 100% on the Dungeon itself being top tier. The mechanics are fun and the bosses are not huge bullet sponges which is a nice change after Ghosts of the Deep. The aesthetic is just awesome too.
Shame about the loot, the only underwhelming part.
Dungeon and season are fantastic so far, pair that with the uptick in communication and I'm feeling pretty happy with the game at the moment
Lol, my dude, Bungie rarely does any of that outside of campaigns.
Dark Souls didn’t invent Mimics and loot goblins lol, more like a D&D and Diablo reference
@@koriusX I can see your view of D&D, but when I see mimics in a castle in the mountains I think dark souls, but maybe that’s just me. If you think of Diablo and D&D that’s totally cool too
Im so glad you love this dungeon because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! Me and my friend did our first 2 man blind day 1 dungeon run on it and it was a blast. We completed it too. Definitely one of if not my favorite dungeon ever.
Great dungeon. But honestly i never thought there's been a bad dungeon, its like the only place bungie delivers consistently good content.
Ehhhhhh
Shattered Throne is pretty bad tbh, but that was the very first one so it’s acceptable.
@@Munch2024 A lot of people really like Shattered Throne (I don't, personally) so apparently it's not all bad. I ran it till I got Wishender and that was the end of it for me, except when a buddy wanted to go in and do something in there.
Your voice bro... Playing this hard and the dedication is admirable... We appreciate you Cross enduring and bring us what we need and desire in content .
🤓
It is a good dungeon but people are definitely overhyping it. The loot is below mid and the last boss is too long.
My God they are overhyping. You know destiny 2 has become bad when they'd praising an activity with piss poor loot. Run this great activity over and over and over again for no loot smh
For real them guys are huffing some copium….. I need me some tho
Is it a crime to have fun in a video game, I mean Jesus. For me, I got to take my friend through this as his first dungeon and it was fuckin awesome!
This dungeon gave me dark souls 1 vibes
Love watching him unload all his weapons and abilities on the taken totems
I was really fond of Dungeons before, but this is easily my favourite. I love snow, castles and Space Magic™. The combination of them is insane. I love the warlord storyline of a Dragon that became a friend after it was slain and that Fikrul and Crow dilemma is probably my most favourite story in all of Destiny
Loved it! Had a great time with the boys last night! Havent okayed in 4 months and came back to play this
Warlords ruin feels like a different game tbh
I was sold on the Dungeon when you escape the jail and jump towards the castle only to hear the Inner Light song play, my whole fireteam shut up for the song as we jumped our way to the castle.
Cudos to bungie for this dungeon. They did a great job. Not perfect but a massive step in the right direction... A couple things annoy me one being that after the quest that makers tour run it multiple times your reward is just an exotic engram...
My friends and I have been doing day 1 dungeons since pit and this one was great.
This dungeon and the coil are two things that will actually get me playing a bit this season.
Definitely NOT META eh?
Glad to see the house of kings are getting a bit of spotlight
But isn’t the main thing loot? No disrespect but if the loot isn’t good then people will not play it. It sucks that a good dungeon has less than desirable loot.
Love that they added puzzles and a secret boss fight for an exotic/catalyst in this dungeon like they did with xenophage back in Pit of heresy. Was probably one of my favorite things about it back in the day
Thought this game was free to play?
Mostly a free beta not the whole game
I really hope they dive more into the _fantasy_ of the space-fantasy more in the future. I think things like this feel sooo good for Destiny--even for other races/factions. Lived-in, old fantasy feeling environments, to me, feel a lot better and satifying to explore, than high-sci-fi, cyberpunk locations we've been getting lately
Best dungeon ever !! I agree!!! The aesthetics are amazing! And mechanics are awesome!!
Im a massive fan of this dungeon. It was a very fun experience trying to learn the mechanics in it and the overall Theme behind it is amazing because i absolutely love the midevil castle feeling
This is the most fun I have had playing Destiny in a long time. I have been mad at Bungie for a long time but this deserves praise. 10/10
6:53 it also has elemental capacitor on the left, i got one with elemental and high ground
While in Warlords Ruin, I have to fight a giant eyeball, which doesn't mean anything to me until I listen to a byf lore video.
the sniper does have more perks, I got precision instrument on mine in the second column
Heads up at 7:05, the circled icon is attrition orbs circled when deconstruction is explained
To be completely fair, I was like 20 ish hours no sleep at that point, so me being tired might’ve had something to do with that
watching some of the early footage made me realise how my biggest regret was not getting a mini tool with encandescense hopefully banshe or xur one day will have it
Thank you cross for a easy to explain guide.. watched other vids and I was confused
Was watching this on the fly while doing the dungeon in a KWTD zone, success.
That bridge moment was just something else
Definitely the best dungeon they've done. I really enjoyed going through it and have been through it multiple times now. For me it's a 9/10 and that extra point would have been for unique looking bosses with their own models instead of the same we've seen before.
However credit where credit is due. I never once felt like this dungeon was a chore unlike ghost of the deep. Fights that keep you moving and bosses not having millions of hp with shields on top too.
The sniper can roll with precision instrument as well, might be interesting with reconstruction.
It gave me nostalgia because it reminded me of Kaer Morhen
did this dungeon day 1, fully blind as a 2-man and OH BOY! this was the most fun i had in destiny 2 in god knows how long.
it took us quit a bit to get the prison break mechanic as we didnt realize the cogs can turn in 2 directions and the hot potato during the endboss took us quite long too to understand.
This dungeon is exactly what you’d expect from “dungeon”, awesome!
I've only played since Beyond Light, but dungeons are my favourite content and for me I this was the most fun I've had on a day one experience, it was awesome . From a gameplay standpoint they absolutely nailed it in my opinion , I agree with the 10/10
Fun quirk of the Hex Drinker in the 3rd encounter:
Winter's Wrath shockwave attack will transfer the debuff, allowing you to get into dps phase easily
This is my favorite dungeon so far. It's so far given me of Ashes of Ariandel vibes.
They thought of everything for this dungeon. Even if you already found them, helping blueberries find the bones will give you dark ether toward your quest. It's a really nice touch.
Even though fireteam finder had bugs definitely felt like it was more fleshed out than expected. Good job on their comms team.
I wholeheartedly agree the dungeon gameplay and aesthetic is 10/10
Feeling of discovery, excellent pacing, fun mechanics and DPS sequences, it's all just so fantastic!
Sour taste from Gotd has been cleansed for me
6:45 you can get precision instrument in the 4th column for the sniper so recon + precision instrument could be good in pve
Man, Bungie do know how to deliver top quality content. This dungeon is proof. I only wish they did this more often.
U finally said something good about the game. The allowed you to be a full time creator.
Dungeons are by far my favorite Destiny content. That team always hits at least a 7/10.
I was saying this during the dungeon, this is Grasp 2.0 and i love it, i still love the pirate/goonies theme of Grasp but man this one is amazing
*I can't even play it but BRO it looks AMAZING and just for that alone it's a 10/10 and it's a solo dungeon so for sure*
03:02. Great choice of music. It sounds medieval.
The jail is based on the color.
Orange is counter clockwise
White is clockwise
I love the Dark Souls sounds effect after getting killed by the wall spikes
I had so much fun my first and second run doing this dungeon I love being challenged and working with friends and randoms. Its hilarious watching all these youtubers going ham on them taken sensors with all that precious heavy 😂
I love this dungeon so much and it’s easily my new favorite dungeon. The aesthetic, encounters, mechanics, lore is perfect. I’m glad I was able to solo this on hunter and it’s even more fun to run with a full team. 10/10
Don’t forget to collect the Ahamkara bone at the final chest on your first run. It won’t be super obvious, but you’ll have a Collect interact cue come up on your screen near the chest. It doesn’t open the chest, it collects the Ahamkara bone, which advances the quest.
After ghosts of the deep this dungeon was a breath of fresh air, both in difficulty and ascetically. GIVE ME MOOORE!
I really like that they up the difficulty on the new mode in dreaming city and plus plenty of loot to grind.
