Pro tip. If you have the skill that makes you do a sharp turn while swinging, you can use it on things like a crane to keep spinning around it and gaining more momentum the longer you spin. Than you can essentially slingshot yourself in any direction your facing gaining you alot of speed.

Slingshotting while web Swinging, Slingshotting up buildings like in TASM1, web based spider-dash and jump, fix the wall crawling, and adding grinding/sliding when you get low to the ground along with climbing up your web would make the traversal perfect in the next game in my eyes.

I think it could work similar to how in TASM2 the game he pauses in mid air and shoots two webs, although greatly buffed in the insomniac games. Miles could maybe imbue his webbing with electricity to boost himself further. And Peter could shoot multi-web lines or use his arms. @@bowens620

MSM2 looks amazing for sure, but its still on a wonky physics engine. I haven't played it yet so not gonna hate on it blindly.
It's not really a hidden mechanic. If it was truly a mechanic we should see actual bending of the web line, this seems more like an accident than anything since weblines put spiderman in a perched state
Small tip: A pretty satisfying way of inverting your momentum aka turning around without losing much speed, just do a loop de loop and let go at the top, you'll get sent backwards. A good tip for a video imo.

this isn't technically "while web slinging" though, none of what you wanted was there. no reversing momentum or slingshotting backwards, or stopping himself. you just made a foothold like you would have if you had done it standing on a surface.
I remember before this game released that people were complaining about them barely improving the web swinging or that it wasn't being "innovated". Like this is legit the quintessential best web swinging in any Spider-Man game, definitely topping what the previous game did.

You can actually slingshot from any perch point. Also something I found out way back in the first game is if you walk up to somewhere you can perch like the edge of a building clicking L3 will cause you to go into the perch position.
i wish they added a mechanic to pull yourself up with webs like from shattered dimensions, i think web of shadows had it as well. another cool thing would be elevating while webswinging by literally climbing the web. i thought it was a little annoying trying to elevate myself while webswinging and i couldn't just grapple the webline and climb up. things i want for spider-man 3: - running while webswinging if you are too close to the ground - slingshot from any point, like tasm 2 game - climbing up webs while webswinging to elevate - vertical climb with webs from shattered dimensions/web of shadows this game is insanely good, just some things i would like to add for the next one :)
As someone who doesn't own a PS5, (therefore not being able to play this) and as someone who absolutely loved the first 2 games, I'm very jealous. This looks sick af.
Its honestly absolutely amazing. Dream spiderman game. Other than the few moments of forced woke sjw garbage (aka, disneys input) It's perfect. Hardest difficulty guarantees you hours and hours on top of the normal game length too. Not that anybody should be playing on any less than hard.
This is a cool little thing I did not think about trying. I really like that idea of being able to use your slingshot to reverse your momentum though, that's a traversal mechanic they should add in the next game.
i love the weblines, i try and make a random group of connected lines above the street for spidey to sit in the middle, can make some good photos from it

I will say as much as I love this game, they really advertised the Webline only to not do too much with it. This is one of the first times I’ve seen it used in a unique way. I still wish I could use it to hang upside down and descend like how you can on a ceiling though. It was one of the first things I tried and I was disappointed it couldn’t be done

To reverse momentum, initiate a loop to loop but do not finish it, let go one you are are the tip of going backwards, move the cam and webwing at the same time I would love in the second game having the opportunity to shoot a big web that would attach to building, you would get to chill like a spider or you would shoot it while in the air and bounce with your momentum. Could wrap multiples ennemy in combat, and be a trap when stepped on by ennemies
considering how good the first game was, and yet how much better the second game made us realize it could be, i wouldn’t be surprised if Spider-Man 3 has the most incredible traversal yet
What I do to get the same effect you're looking for is with the vertical loops, where I dive and get into the maneuver and let go when it is at it highest, turning around and continuing my swinging when the character is going backwards. Hope it helps and you have fun with this, cause I do it all the time!

It's R2+L2 and then jump. Other than that, slingshotting mid swing, seems pretty useless as it would be "useful" only for a 180. Just keep the line and let go when going back for a 180
I really thought this was something they were gonna add to the first game. It would be so nice if when you webzipped backwards, instead of it halting all your momentum, it did a quick backwards slingshot to keep you moving.
One of the things I really wish they had added was dropping to the underside of a perch or a webline and lowering down on a web like you can do from ceilings. Would of made for some cool stealth plays. Maybe add it in the next game by holding circle on them.
Click L3 when on a roof (I think). It’s still in the game. Wildly useless however. Game teaches you how to do it in the high school flashback getting the “item” back from security in gym filled with NYPD you must distract.
The spiderman 2 game for gamecube had so many things like this you could do, you could move theough the air and use webs even better than the current generation somehow, not to mention there were sooooo many different fighting combos

They did their thing on this one. People still saying Spider-Man 2 ps2 webswinging is better can finally give it a rest. This is much better. I’ve put mad hours in and I still haven’t leveled up the skill tree fully. I’m about to play through again with the better graphical setting on the highest difficulty.
Funny thing is, that they show Miles doing this when he was thrown by Sandman. They hinted that we can do this since the beginning, but I never thought about trying it.
You can look up before you do your slingshot and it will slingshot you more upwards too, I also like using it in combat to quickly get over to someone and look stylish doing it

Using a webline to slingshot off of isn't the same thing as using a slingshot to reverse momentum while swinging.

They did their thing on this one. People still saying Spider-Man 2 ps2 webswinging is better can finally give it a rest. This is much better. I’ve put mad hours in and I still haven’t leveled up the skill tree fully. I’m about to play through again with the better graphical setting on the highest difficulty.

you can do it on any building too I remember doing it on the roof of oscorp tower it was funny cuz my webs attached to buildings that were so far away

Funny thing is, that they show Miles doing this when he was thrown by Sandman. They hinted that we can do this since the beginning, but I never thought about trying it.
I feellike this is probably the most realistic of his slingshot move. All 3 points of his web tensioning releases himself like a bow!

IIrc in ASM 2 there is a slingshot that SP does which is also pretty cool where he shoots 3 way and pulls on the back web to boost himself.
the ending is tippable. nice job finding that, looks sick.
You can look up before you do your slingshot and it will slingshot you more upwards too, I also like using it in combat to quickly get over to someone and look stylish doing it
