I was convinced it wouldn’t have from the start. I was knew there wasn’t NEARLY enough webbing and that there was no way they actually thought to add this so it was inevitable
@@dineshs3575I don't know if it's true (because I wasn't in the writing room, obv) but the boat scene almost feels like they were purposefully trying to one up the iconic train scene because it's just that memorable.
In the film, he was already on the train instead of trying to catch it. He tried slowing it down, at first, by stomping his feet through the train tracks themselves. And I counted at least 14 webshots to bring the train to a complete halt, including the first two that (at best) slowed it down slightly.
You’re right but this interpretation is just comedic. Enjoy what’s here, it’s okay to laugh and move on, we don’t necessarily need an analytical break down of why this ‘attempt’ doesn’t fully coincide with what happened in the movie…
@@sebastianstanfield3061 you're right but sometimes people enjoy thinking and sharing their thoughts while others enjoy reading those thoughts. We don't necessarily need someone to make sure everyone is being efficient with enjoyment of everything

It’s really not appreciating the video for what it is, and rather picking it apart for not being an exact reenactment.
@sebastianstanfield3061 You're right, we don't appreciate the video for what it is because the video doesn't show what the title states. They wanted to stop the train like in the movie, they should've tried to *do* it like in the movie. It's what i and maybe other people clicked on the video for, which was not received. Sure, i got a mild chuckle out of the end result we ALL knew would happen as soon as we saw the first webshot, but there will still be the slight disappointment that what was stated in the title was not actually explored in the video.
I think it would be cool if there were train crimes where you fight people on the train, and if you take too long to defeat them then a criminal destroys the brakes and you have to stop the train. Would be awesome
Train robberies? Oh yeah I can already see Arthur Morgan pointing his six shooter at Pete and going "Howdy partner, mind your own business and no harm will come to you🤠"
The Devs missed opportunity to add a 'soft glitch' in there where if you cast a few more webs and stood in the exact right stop you would have got a special case where the train does actually stop.
There are people who makes 3D assets and textures and put them up in a marketplace for a living. I would argue there isn't enough but given that people are getting more adept using computers we can expect more.
The buildup to this I was thinking it has to work, you recreated the web with such precision and knowledge, I was captivated by every second but right when Spiderman gets completely thrown was the honestly the lol cherry on top
I initially thought it was impossible, but when you so carefully alligned the webs I thought "Maybe they tried this before and you need precise placement?" Than BAM! Foolish of me to expect anything else x)
Sam Raimis Spider-man: * Struggling for his life, shoots out 100 webs and almost dies. * Some random dude on his mamas couch: -Lets see if i can do it with 5 webs and some hope
I actually really enjoyed that. It was a thought-provoking rollercoaster. At first I'm like "Nah, it'll just plow through without skipping a beat unless it's a programmed thing as a part of a mission, but probably not judging from the title of the video" but then I was like "Unless it's a programmed little easter egg/tidbit to enjoy while you're swingin' around the city. That would be cool" then I was like "Nah, he's not placing enough web to stop that train, unless those strands are really that strong and this guy knows where to place them, I mean, he was being very precise on the placement." But then I was all like "Nah" again because that train was so close, but then again, my boy over here looks perched and confident with his meticulously placed webbing and foot position... so let's seeeeeee [BANG]... I was originally correct. So I win.
The difference between superhero games and movies is that in games there is an internal logic to how your powers work and you don’t just magically get more powerful when the script writer finds it convenient.
@@LordNiftythose are the worst. During the cutscene your weapon takes 10 seconds to charge, and does an intense 3 second, action-packed firing sequence that narrowly misses and levels a distant building. Then the camera pans away from the carnage, settles into the 3rd person view, and you're now holding a paper straw armed with a dozen half-frozen peas that bounce off the villain like, well, peas.
I know what you mean but it's not completely true. They just do it differently in games. If plot requires it characters can easily pull powers from their @$$. In FFXV leviathan destroys you then you power up fly and unlock Gilgamesh's gates of Babylon to defeat it.
It wasn’t magically more powerful. That’s consistent with Spider-Man’s power levels in the comics and shows. In fact, it’s probably weaker than many of his feats. For reference, Batman could also stop the train. His comic feats are ridiculous. He has NO powers except “convenient writing” / “popularity” lol. So Spider-Man SHOULD be able to stop the train. Btw, it’s a fact he constantly holds back when fighting. Just look at Superior Spider-Man where Doc Ock took over his body and accidentally killed Shocker or something. He was like, “Damn, Peter must always hold back A LOT.”
Guys ik it would be cool to stop the train but it wouldn’t make sense to stop a random train from getting to its destination because you want to recreate nostalgia
As a programer, I kind of know how hard it would be to program that in. There are many ways to do it, ranging from "not worth it" kind of hard if you want to rely on a physics-based system to "feasible in a few days" if you use mostly animations. They probably didn't think about stoping trains with webs when programing the game, but now this video wouldn't be as funny if they did! So they did you a favor by not implementing it. That's my conclusion lol.
As another dev, I have no idea what the engine is or how the train is implemented but I'll assume it's a very basic entity running on a specific path and schedule. They already have collision enabled on it, since the ending of the video is hilarious, that means if not physics based they could have done a trace on frontal collisions to check if the player is in front, and amount of webbing. From there you call some logic like slowing it down or stopping it. I think about a day's work with testing, but it could have generated more issues like angle of webbing being incorrect and such. They probably didn't want to risk introducing more bugs or more realistically, that's one extra day they didn't have during development.
So in this game you can basically form a spiderweb anywhere?👀 Because when you were making that web... It felt like that scene in "The Amazing Spider-Man" where he was hunting for the Lizard in the sewers and shot webs down every tunnel to sense the vibrations like a real spider and then go to his prey.
I hope in Spidey 3 there's more supervillains randomly commiting crimes. Like have The Spot or Rhino or Shocker or Doc Ock making random appearances and robbing banks or terrorising a train, not story related. Guess they can't do certain villains any more thanks to Kraven....
@@FlamingSolo no sorry I mean, there's multiple Shockers in the comics so while Shocker 1 may be dead in the game, it doesnt mean there cant be another Shocker.
Missed opportunity to implement a trophy that basically cheekily implies that's the case hence why it didn't work for you, that's a unique Tobey achievement. That way, them purposefully not programming that isn't such a bloody shame 😅
I’m disappointed in the creators of the game for this. How could you not think that gamers would try to attempt this especially since it’s in the movie. I like it when developers know what we gamers will attempt in the games and prepare for it.

Webs are limited in this game. You can have up to 6 weblines active so that's what i made.
That was hilarious! 😂😂😂
Everyone watching this thinking "It's not gonna work, dude" lol
If spiderman was made by Rockstar then definitely there would be feature like this in the game.
or just spiderman stealing cars
You have way too much hope in rockstar, they couldnt even add train heists to red dead online, or have a functioning anticheat
MY CONTENT BETTER
@@greendesignerwhat about the story mode ?
In this universe Spider-Man can't stop trains
I hope in Spidey 3 there's more supervillains randomly commiting crimes. Like have The Spot or Rhino or Shocker or Doc Ock making random appearances and robbing banks or terrorising a train, not story related. Guess they can't do certain villains any more thanks to Kraven....
Hate to tell you.....Shockers dead
@@FlamingSolo Vulture killed Shocker in Homecoming but there was another one.
@@MrMisanthrope84 no no I mean, Kraven killed shocker-
@@FlamingSolo no sorry I mean, there's multiple Shockers in the comics so while Shocker 1 may be dead in the game, it doesnt mean there cant be another Shocker.
@@MrMisanthrope84 oh ok
Peter PS4 : You can stop the moving train?
Peter 2 : Yeah,, you can't do that huh?
Tobey is the only Spider-man who's capable of doing that
Missed opportunity to implement a trophy that basically cheekily implies that's the case hence why it didn't work for you, that's a unique Tobey achievement. That way, them purposefully not programming that isn't such a bloody shame 😅
Ngl I thought you get a badge
Bro its not roblox its spiderman2
And its trophy

"Any more bright ideas?" would have been the perfect title for one.
I’m disappointed in the creators of the game for this. How could you not think that gamers would try to attempt this especially since it’s in the movie.
I like it when developers know what we gamers will attempt in the games and prepare for it.
“Evidently not.” -Red Skull.
Spoiler: No.
😂
- All you had to do, was stop this damn train, SM
(c) Uncle Ben
😂😂 damn I was really hoping he would stop the train like Tobey 🤦🏻♂️
Fun fact: The Raimi Spider mans will always be the best live action ones.
That was beyond creative. Nice 👍!
Bro had so much confidence 😂
"He is just a spider."
Had this worked, it would've been the greatest easter egg of all time.
If I learnt anything from GTA 5, it's that the train can never be stopped, no matter how hard you try
"All you had to do was stop the damn train Peter"
I think the difference is spiderman was moving along with the train when he web trapped. A train moving at that speed is a death on impact
😂 poor Spidey went squashed. And here I was thinking "the developers probably added that from the movie".
