Lamp Cord Switch Replacement

Very informative! I've replaced a couple of these. They're fine for light duty. I've prefer a better quality switch if the appliance gets daily use.

I have a lamp with such a switch.
And for all the time I’ve had it, maybe 15 years or more, it’s had a short in it.
I have to click it several times to get it to stay on.
Turning off is always easy.
I’ve been wanting to get it fixed, but was at a loss.
Thank you so much for this video.
I’ll be going to Lowes tomorrow to see if I can find a switch for it.
And hopefully, tomorrow afternoon, all will be good as new with my lamp.
Tho I should say, it’s the way I received it, when ordered from Colonial Williamsburg.
They told me to pay to ship it back, and they’d replace it.
I never bothered.
This repair I can make, using your guide.

Thanks for this video! I am newly separated from my husband and had to replace a switch on a star lantern that I have in my window. I was successfully able to change the switch, and it works now! Thanks again 😊
