The moment I saw the change to cold I immediately swapped my mesa from corrosive heat to corrosive cold, the low level annihilation abilities of her 4 has gone up a lot as you aren’t worrying about dot or even status chance as much anymore, you can just go for straight elemental damage
(Particularly if you have an armour strip)
Is it better than the double dipping you can get from archon vit with heat on peacemakers?
@@wuzzle5261 I unfortunately have not grinded enough for archon vit lol, but when I get it I will definitely test with that mod
At a guess though, +50% crit multiplier to all the damage dealt is very good compared to another 30% or so total damage from dot stacks, particularly if you use the extra mod space for more ability strength

it's not only about dot stack for heat, but another 50% armor reduction that's multiply with corrosive is also a thing to consider. I imagine cold would be a tad better in base steelpath due to heat needing time to ramp up, but once you get to 1k range, you probably want heat for that armorstrip.
Nice showcase man! Ive been putting corrosive on my weapons too because of how boring the slash viral meta has gotten. Nice touch with primary frostbite. Might need a weapons 3.0! In Pablo we trust.
I absolutely agree, the slash viral meta is boring beyond belief. I figured even if they are just small buffs, a cold corrosive build really shakes things up. Now we need a good buff to gas, electric, impact etc etc as they aren't nearly as effective as the meta. In Pablo we trust o7

As long as you get a kill and have all of the Galvanized mods rolling, it's such a strong combo and I'm excited to see the different combos
If the incarnon Gammacor will work as i think it is, it's upgrade form will be amazing to proc the cold procs(I know that there won't be an arcane to slot there unless I'm mistaken cz I don't remember the arcanes after zariman)😊
Secondary encumber will be pretty good for more varied status procs

I've had this combo on my Corinth (Now Corinth Prime) for years.
This is like my third comment here but this is incredibly interesting.
This arcane and the toxin/electric variants seems to proc from Warframe abilities too for example frost.
Also this arcane on a kitgun with residual malodor that creates aoe cold areas on kills should on paper work incredibly as you can slot this arcane on a kitgun slot and still use primary frostbite*

Two problems with that. First, corrosive heat is better than corrosive cold. Heat reduces armor by half, while cold only increases crit damage by 50%. These may seem similar, but heat is MUCH better because it's effectiveness scales exponentially, while cold's effectiveness scales linearly. Second, heat has a stacking DoT effect on proc, while cold has none. And if you use Bane mods or abilities with similar effects then you can double dip into that extra heat DoT.
So no, it's not even close to being a viable alternative.
At the end of the say, objectively speaking, heat corrosive/heat viral is better. But as someone who enjoys builds that are experimental and personally are fun to try, playtesting weird builds is fun. I've also been inspired to make a meta build for the battacor based on your mod recommendations. I appreciate you pointing that out
Viral/Cold/Puncture is probably the best combination if you don't need your weapon to strip armor or shields. Even against limited status proc targets any of those proccing would be better damage than heat dot ticks.

the change to cold makes in interesting if a weapon has inate cold or you got it on a riven but if you are considering putting on a cold 60/60 on a primary you are better off putting on hammer shot, instead of having to apply your cold stacks to get only 50% crit damage hammer shot just gives 60 and 80 status chance. now if the weapon has a bad crit multi i guess cold beats it but you probably dont care about crit in that case.
Interesting proposition and that is definitely something I'll look into. Also I don't have hammershot so it didn't even occur to me to put it on
Doesn't the cold cd buff affect base crit before mods?
@@7opher619 that i am not certain of how its math is done and am having trouble finding any one who has covered it.
@@spaz_taz4910 I could easily be misremembering but I thought Brozime covered that and stated it affected base crit before mods. Again, don't quote me as I very well could be wrong.

@@orionsgear that, with wisp haste, and priming with alt fire(cause it gives viral cold), double jump for a motus setup(also gives wisp invis so enemys lose track of her her) and enemys turn into a wall of yellow orange status. add some breach surge into the mix? now everything in 30 meter has been vaporised or hates each other for being to close. also blind. bit of true damaged from that one mod is just icing on the cake. another cool combo is gladiator set nidus and cold hirudo melee. drop larva, have gloom nidus stack massive combo and regen finish with stomp. had hirudo do 2.3 mill damage before with just a haste mote to boost attack speed and im sure people could improve it.

I would recommend you do if it suits you. It works well for me and depending what sort of roll you get on your riven, it might even be better

@@Wonback Would shred be objectively better? I figured on a weapon with a 30% CC rate it would be good/preferred but if there is a better reason to use that then so be it
I wish the cold and impact buffs where even bugger because they help fast mutli shooting weapons but not slow big shots, its great to see some improvement but the problem is every time they touch something they stop there for years
I didn't notice, but you're absolutely right. Maybe slow rof weapons should have more stacks of cold or the cold potency should be higher
@@orionsgear Thats the sad thing about statuses any of them that have effects need multi stacks so any slow weapon cant realy use them with the current status primer meta to being viral you cant run cold with that so colds in a awkward spot
a couple questions:
- why corrosive? I'm not disagreeing with you--just curious. Is it because its just the least useless option? what about viral -- wouldn't that synergize better with slash?
- would glaxion be viable in a similar situation, since it has innate cold? so you could save a mod slot for the rime rounds. and the vandal version has aoe :D
Why Corrosive? With admittedly small armour strip potential, it was the least useless option. Cold + Viral wouldn't work because you can't use two cold mods on the same weapon. It would synergise better with slash because that's the current meta (Slash+Heat+Viral). Though nothing is stopping you from throwing Hunters Munitions onto any hybrid/crit rifle for that extra slash damage.
Funny you ask since I've just gotten the Glaxion rifle and you can absolutely save a mod slot. I had no idea the Vandal version had an AoE so thank you for the tip. The only thing the Glax doesn't have is Puncture iirc so it doesn't benefit in that regard. I think Corpus are going to be a strong competitor to the current meta in regards to alternative builds
Viral and cold or Viral Corrosive Cold etc are possible if you use Nourish as a subsume
@@daveelliot2328 absolutely, but this video was more about focusing on the new elements that now have potential after the puncture/cold buff. though I don't doubt that you can throw nourish into the mix at the expense of an ability slot
@@orionsgear I use corrosive cold on a few frames already along with nourish because of the extra elemental dmg for exalted weapons, bonus status for condition overload effects and cold dropping energy orbs with archon flow for things like Mesa's regulators or Baruuk's desert wind. I was hoping your video was going to show some of the math comparisons.

You just test on primary, test on secondary. Because secondary shiver is a bit...stupid.
Primary shiver is great.
Even that, when i have cold, crit dam on nukor, i use it and it great.
Not great as battacor in this video, because i need arcane avenger to help, but see the big number( 500k) is always satisfied
I don't have a maxxed out secondary shiver so unfortunately I can't reliably test secondary. Though I also think that there is a lot of potential
