For the note this move is called the "french drop" and it was invented mostly for balls but also applies to coins. Its like the D major cord of magicians... It has so many uses and should be one of the first things any new magician masters. Great tutorial and great showing off with the coin! Love it!

The Russian Genius IS a genius! I learned the trick from him and took it a step further. When I do the trick, I start out the way he does it but I rub my arm slowly down to my hand and let it fall or slap the back of my hand to get the coin to fall. Killer coin trick.

The French drop, also known as "Le Tourniquet", was the first sleight I learned 60 yrs ago. I hold the coin in my left hand instead of the right hand like you do in the vid...same result.
