Jackie is the most underrated guitar player in the world. I’d never heard of him and then saw him with the Allman Brothers Band at the Beacon run in 98 or 99, he blew the roof off the place with his Stormy Monday solo, been a fan ever since.
Their reactions were great at the end of Tommy's insane solo! 4:40 my reaction here was same as the audience, blown away and laughing along with these two extreme guitar masters!
Agreed, which is why he does so many of these duets. Not so shabby at trios either haha. I caught TE not too long ago in Sacramento and I can't wait to see him again.
I’d like to see Joe Bonamasa’ pull off a Solo like Tommy’s end solo on this tune! Just saying 👍These two good old Boys are just Amazing on Acoustic as they are playing Electric! Not many are masters on Both.
Looks like an Alvarez Yairi that Jack is playing here- a sweet acoustic, uncommon around these parts. The dreadnoughts meant for the American market are common though fortunately. Neither guitar here is well suited for backing, and EQ is such that there is a bit of mud but nothing can take away from their stellar abilities and chemistry.
That's the guitar Jack asked Alvarez Yairi to build for him. It has Honduran Mahogany back and sides that the Luther's at Yairi found on one of their properties that had been bought in the late 60's and had been air drying for that long. It is such special wood that they decided make a limited run of guitars available to the public. They have AAAA rated Adirondack Spruce tops. One of the Folk size models is available with a Mahogany top. They are making a Dreadnaught, Folk, and Parlor style models.
Tommy is more in the pocket and cohesive, using space better than Jack, but both are great. I do like how Jack moves the rhythm, up to bebop tempo, though.

Please stop talking about "underrated" guitar players - maybe he's not the best known one, but everyone who has ever heard him can't "underrate" him!
@@bobbynoe1 you know what underrated means right?
@@edge1289 Not estimating one's quality highly enough. Or what do you think?
Two Great masters having a guitar conversation...and enjoying every bit of it.

Tommy Emmanuel plays 300 concerts per year as a solo guitarist, but he really shines when he plays with another musician.

He and Jack really push each other to the limits. It's a beautiful thing to see and hear.
Just stunning feel and knowledge of the guitar, and that’s on acoustics!! I give up!! 👍🏻👍🏻🤘✌️
Two of the best guitarist of our time , could be playing a cigar box guitar with one string and make it rock . Take note kids ...
Why do people have to make this a competition? Two absolute monsters playing like mf's...and loving each other. Makes me cry like a happy little baby.
So true! And they are great friends, and they are both super nice humans!
Hellll yeah, I love this tune and never expected to hear these two legends play it together!

Yeah I love Jack but Tommy is far more melodic and interesting here
Amazing!
There's something - i.e. someone - missing here. Charlie C would have made it the real dream team.
What guitar is Jackie playing.?
Comments say it's an Alvarez Yairi.
Gladly...The cross eyed bear...Lol...
