You know I'm not really sure... it will protect the paper for sure, but it is still tile so something really hot could still crack the tile I would imagine.
If you are worried you could get the cork type paper and cut them to fit the sides of the tile to catch the sweat it should help or even go up a hair past the tile to help protect or something like that
Honestly, it's been so long since I've done these I don't remember exactly. But there is a smell to the spray (you want to do it outdoors or a well ventilated area), but the smell fades as they dry.
The felt pads can be found at any big box store under furniture felt protectors. Love the idea of gift items to make and would like to see more

Can this be done with ceramic tiles ?
The process should worksheet same, but I would be a little hesitant as ceramic is much less sturdy and could break easier.
Will that Krylon make it heat resistant to things like casseroles, if I get the bigger tiles to make trivets>

If there is no cork or indents on the top of these coasters, how does the heat sweat, stop the cups from sliding off?

How do you make sure that you don't see the streaking from the modge podge under the sealant?
Hi Ebony! I just use a foam paint brush and very thin layers of modge podge.
