What a shocking experience 😳
It is sicking to know many people have been killed for crimes they did not do. Yes there are those that did do crimes. It is like how many are in jail for things they did not do, and are there because they was framed or even lazy police work.
I do not believe in the death penalty, it does not work - yes it kills a person, but it does not stop others doing the same type of crime.
Know Jesus. We are not of this world. 🙏
It does keep that person from ever getting out and doing it again though.
@@Dean4511 Read John Grisham's true story of a innocent man sentenced to death for a crime he didn't commit. Eleven years on death row only exonerated because of the Innocence project and the advent of DNA testing.
Ask yourself how many innocent men went to their deaths because they couldn't afford a effective defense attorney.
@@robertblackburn790 I agree the death penalty should not be imposed lightly. I'm sure there are many cases where it was used on innocent men in the past. But modern DNA testing is a sword that cuts both ways. It can prove guilt as well as innocence. Also, since video cameras are prevalent everywhere these days many murders, esp. those committed in the course of an armed robbery, are caught on security cameras. The death penalty should only be used when guilt is established beyond any doubt, but that's much more achievable today.
Most people in prison are in fact guilty and the majority are revolving door offenders

Agree on ya. Punishment is for the offender and as a deterrent for everyone else. If the public didn't see it, they wouldn't feel how terrible it would if happen on them too.
Like when I was young & small, I though that punishment by canning is easy, until I saw how they execute the punishment. It really opened my mind. It's not the same like the canning we used to had back at school.
Deterrence should never be the reason for an execution. You could deter just as effectively by framing and executing innocent people. The reason must be justice.
What about people cheering for executions (hanging, etc) and stoning folks says watching such a thing via a screen, let alone in person, means a damn thing?
You can watch cartel videos and of far more horrific things, so it frustrates me to see such a silly statement.
The call to watch violence as a deterrent given our history is rather demented because wtf says all criminals are murderers?
What crimes is it deterring exactly? Not robberies with weapons or other violent offenses NOT qualifying for capital punishment makes any sense?

I totally agree. Just from my experience of being an addict. Nothing deterred me from using until I had enough!!
They fail as deterrents, Especially as [acts’ of Passion] or for the calloused psyche of a true ‘malefactor’ , which many would themselves fail to ‘judge’ , as might/ be fitting or for many to cursorily acquiesce in proscription of ‘The Sanction’ !(death) .

To anyone assuming this guy was innocent: go read the facts of the case. The problem with retracting the confession was that the original confession gave numerous details that only the killer or his accomplice could have known.

Is that it? I mean, these stories usually have a big "Ah-ha" moment at the end, but instead all we get are the final moments of a condemned killer. Are we supposed to feel how wrong it is to have capitol punishment? Because, if he is guilty, then I say he got what's coming; it was sad, but no more sad than what he'd done.

The government. It's Cheaper than life in prison. A flawed and Disgusting system and shame on those countries that allow the practice.

They could've at least let him finish his final words. Guilty or not those were the last words / sentence to come out of mouth. Have some kind of dignity before eletricuting him.

I'm we don't go to heaven when we die I really don't understand why people believe that we don't go to heaven until Jesus comes and takes us to heaven we sleep until it's time to go until Jesus comes
