Thanks my friend. I replaced a broken spring today. It came out easier than the new one went in. My spring compressor wasn't the best and the straps slipped. I had to cut the straps off in the end too but the jobs done. Thanks for the help, It was terrifying at times.

Did one spring last night without this tip and it was a chore. This method made it way easier to get the new stock height spring in

I had the same idea but I didn't consider the straps but I probably would have after realizing the compressors couldn't fit. good job mate!!

Hi, just a small question pls. It is a big diferents between standard and sports? If i have sports springs, can I change them to standard? Thank you in advance!!!

There's a difference in ride height with the springs, the shock absorbers will be different as well, sports shocks will be stiffer than standard and potentially different in length too, I wouldn't recommend putting standard springs on sport's shocks as this could impair the handling of the vehicle.

did same on Audi A2 one side was ok with clamps but other where tank inlet is wasn't possible to use clamps so ratchet straps to the rescue

The easy way is to use an internal spring compressor, like the one from Sealey which doesn’t cost much. I didn’t need to unbolt anything to remove the spring.

Those I have seen locally at the cheap store were like $160, the external spring compressors were $20.

I was slightly scared watching you put a spring in that had been held with straps that could of easily slid while putting the spring back in, lol. Good idea but a little dangerous.
