Had a standard Skeletool which was confiscated when I forgot to take it out of my carry on bag. Told the security guard to keep it rather than throwing it away wastefully. Came home, bought an OG Skeletool CX with the carbon fibre insert, gave it to my friend as a little gift. He lost his at the airport, confiscated as well. Then I bought another CX last year and am sad it no longer has the CF insert but it's as good a tool as ever.
That's funny, I also owned 2 CXs and lost both to TSA. I haven't purchased a third yet, but man I really miss that tool. I probably had one in my pocket the better part of a decade.
I recently received the CX as a gift and I love it. I have had to use it already and never thought I would use it as much. I will be carrying the CX with me everyday. Amazing quality and the knife is very sharp. Definitely worth the money. 🔥
The CX is a great alternative to a simple folding knife. 154CM in a multi tool simply rocks. I love the size and steel choice of the blade relative to the size of the tool. I also see it as a knife with the extras instead of a "traditional" multi tool (pliers with the extras). While the carabiner has been controversial to some, to me it opens up a whole new world of carry options (it can be clipped to a belt loop, a backpack, a lanyard, a keychain and more) in addition to being an effective and easy-to-access bottle opener because the whole tool is used as a lever.
The CX is one of my go to EDC knives. The ergonomics are really impressive for what it is and while it only has a frw tools the bulk of them are impressive.
I love my CX as a daily carry. I do wish it had an alternating side bit driver of flathead and phillips vs 2 of like sides. I'm always swapping out the bit for different style screw heads and I would much rather just flip it around.
I've been carrying my Cx since 2016 almost everyday. Got one for me and one for my sister and she uses hers regularly too. One of the best multitools around.

I've gone through 5 because I keep losing them (usually when I'm drunk) but I have to keep replacing it because I can't live without it! The blade on the CX is the bomb! I sharpen it with ease and its like a razor!

Bought the Standard Skeletool and am super impressed with the quality. My first Leatherman, judging from its quality, probably my last. Bravo Leatherman!
PLEASE make a few iteration of the Skeletool that provides alternate options for the Knife. Many people carry a dedicated knife, but would like a light multi-tool that gives other options. Scissors, Diamond File and Wood Saw in place of the Scissors. AND perhaps another tool option that will pass TSA rules.
In the past we've made TSA "compliant" multi-tools but even those got confiscated. Ultimately it's up to the discretion of the individual TSA officer 😕
@@LeathermanToolGroup That's fine--the primary goal isn't for TSA purposes, but to have the alternate main tool. It seems you can have a pretty direct option for that knife slot. Please consider.
