    I have the original CX since 2008, with partially serrated blade. It was my only tool/knife for a number of years. Once I settled down in my own place, the EDC tool craze started for me.

    I really like this one and using it for 10 years now. Because of the compactness, cool style and workable stuff on it.
    The only flaw is a more stronger palmgrip, so the screwdriver bit presses too hard into the hand.
    Furthermore one of the pliers side broke while operating something. I don‘t know anymore what it was.
    But Ttanks to the good guarantee of Leatherman, I am still using it.

    Hey great video however it is worth pointing out that it does have tweezers. The head is tucked on the outside face on the other side of the pocket clip under the left pivot screw.

    I'm a huge Lover of all tools discussed here..but...
    I do not think these are equal. The pliers on a skeletool are very weak and break easily with lateral torque. A T4 + small Slip Joint plier may be a little closer (since it has cutters). Try the channel lock 524.

    • @urbanknifeguy
      @urbanknifeguy  3 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for your thoughts. I agree they are not equal and the application is for the general edc tasks I typically encounter. I did not know the skeletool pliers were that weak. It is specifically for the Skeletools or Leathermans in general?

    • @JoshTalksTools
      @JoshTalksTools 2 месяца назад +1

      @@urbanknifeguy Skeletool in general, they're not made for heavy duty tasks.
      One thing I don't like about the Skeletool, are the holes in the knife; it makes it incredibly annoying to clean when using for food prep. If cutters are not essential (I rarely have used them when carrying the Skeletool), then something like the Cobra pliers you showed + the Rambler/Manager + ROCKTOL multitool knife 9cheaper than a T4), might be a better combo.

    • @urbanknifeguy
      @urbanknifeguy  2 месяца назад

      @joshfa5526 Thanks for your thoughts. I agree that the Skeletool is not for heavy duty tasks which is why it fits with my general urban EDC tasks. I also perosnally don't use multitools or folders for foodprep or outdoor use.

    If they made this tool slimmer and drastically improved the pocket clip, I would have never stopped carrying this tool. The tool selection is amazing, especially since I carry a Swiss Army knife as well. The pocket clip was the main thing. It got caught on stuff all the time AND isn't centered so it moves around constantly. I guess I love the tool but hate carrying it. 😂

    • @urbanknifeguy
      @urbanknifeguy  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks for your comment. I personally don't have an issue with the clip but it is failry thin. I guess you could find a compatible clip from a 3rd party or another folder to seee if that works.

    Nice video. It's worth noting that the CX also has an upgraded blade steel. A couple suggestions for a 2nd bit to carry if you're using the phillips/slotted combo bit: (1) The glass breaker / 1/4" slotted combo bit, which would add the glass breaker to the setup in the video without adding anything superfluous; (2) The #0/#3 phillips bit - with this and the #1/#2 combo bit you'll be able to handle just about any Phillips screw; (3) If you're a cyclist, the 4mm / 5mm hex bit is great because those are the most common drivers for screws on bicycles, (4) The Volty switch digital multimeter bit if you're into electrical/electronics work.

      Lot of the things I carry I use mostly at home for fixing household repairs and rarely use when I am out and about. The Skeletool is something I would use as I do use the pliers and screw driver a lot. Urbanknifeguy does have a point that the Skeletool does offer three tools in one making it a viable multitool for edc but I feel that if you are going to carry a multi tool, it should have a bit more tools than just three main options.

    This 154 cm blade is amazing but its still not as good as 3 percent of maxamet steel of spyderco.. the grip on knipex cobras teeth is also not comparable to the leatherman cause u have alot of more leverage and the bits of leatherman they just so soft .. use wera instead :)

    • @simonh6371
      @simonh6371 2 месяца назад

      I like your choice of specific tool manufacturers...I can't EDC a locking blade here in the UK so no Skeletool for me, and I came up with a few configurations which in my opinion beat the Skeletool, as well as being UK legal.
      They are based around the Spyderco Urban with N690 blade - Austrian steel in an Italian made knife - and the Knipex Cobra XS. One of the configs I came up with was the small Wera bit driver (913) which is about the size of a Bic lighter. But I do like scissors and Victorinox make the best ones so I have carried that setup with the Vic Moneyclip which is very slim and has flat alox scales. Or I ditch the Wera driver/bits and carry the Vic Jetsetter which has small but good scissors and the small Phillips driver - which can turn PH2 screws if they are not supertight, and add a keyshaped flathead driver/pry bar on my keyring.

    I like the skeletool, i have a few of them. As much knife as you'll generally need for my urban carry.
    The RX model has a really nice serrated sheepsfoot blade. If i was pairing it with another tool maybe a Victorinox compact. To give you a straight blade option and scissors ✂️
    Great vid. Cheers 🍻
