I'm buying at least 1 of these to add to my collection. I personally EDC a Leatherman Rebar, and think that it's the best compromise between weight and functionality.

Got a RX snd it's great. Have got an add on to add a hammer surface woth oxygen rench and strap cutter. All work really well, extra functionality with minimal weight and size increase

Excellent informative video. Just got a RX Skeletool for myself for Christmas with some bonus money from work and it’s a great piece of engineering.
The learherman Wave is a permanent backpack tool for me but the Skeltool is something I would actually carry on my person. The Skeletool is like the Victorinox Compact of Leatherman tools, everything you need, no fluff.
I’m surprised how good it feels in the pocket

As paramedic I had to get the RX when it was released, which is usually half a year later in EU. The very first edition actually was bright orange which is what I use for my working gear. Had to import it from a small shop in Australia to EU cause only red ones were available anymore^^ Good luck finding one of those these days.
Still think it's a little bit underrated. It's small, extra light and you can obvs. use a lot of different bits. It's a shame that it's the same price as the Raptor, a very overrated tool in my eyes.
It's also clearly a working tool with it's tools and the serrated edge, so it's legal to carry in Germany for emt-purposes although it's got a one-handed opening and locking blade. Think in GB aswell.

Thank you for the very informative comparison. I've been looking at these for a month now and have decided to go with the CX.

I didn’t get the CX because I dislike the look of carbon fiber. I actively avoid anything with it. I didn’t know they had changed it to plain black, that’s great to know

I watched 50 videos none of them opened the rest of the blades or features

I can’t stand serrated blades as I have to do a lot of resharpening The CX is the only straight blade right?

I'm waiting for leatherman to discontinue the skeletool like all the other good models lol...

I’m literally buying another as a backup just in case lol Never know what LM is thinking. Like a lot of their tools but as a company they don’t connect with their core users at all. I doubt anyone in management even carries a LM
