I am a Firefighter and Paramedic, the tools from leatherman and victorinox helped me so save a lot of people in dire situations, as a paramedic i always wear the raptor and the signal on me but i searched for a leatherman for me as a firefighter and i think i found here the RX. Thank you very much.
Excellent informative video. Just got a RX Skeletool for myself for Christmas with some bonus money from work and it’s a great piece of engineering. The learherman Wave is a permanent backpack tool for me but the Skeltool is something I would actually carry on my person. The Skeletool is like the Victorinox Compact of Leatherman tools, everything you need, no fluff. I’m surprised how good it feels in the pocket
Got a RX snd it's great. Have got an add on to add a hammer surface woth oxygen rench and strap cutter. All work really well, extra functionality with minimal weight and size increase
Is the add on available on etsy or someplace similar or was it custom made. I plan on getting an RX and that mod seems like something I'd be interested in.
I'm buying at least 1 of these to add to my collection. I personally EDC a Leatherman Rebar, and think that it's the best compromise between weight and functionality.
I like the RX because I already carry the ARC and need a serrated blade. So I carry the ARC in my pocket and I clip this RX to a belt loop on the other side of me.
I would like the cx in red. I don't want the rx because I don't want a serrated blade and I don't want the guava colour that leatherman offer in the cx because it looks more pink/orange.
As paramedic I had to get the RX when it was released, which is usually half a year later in EU. The very first edition actually was bright orange which is what I use for my working gear. Had to import it from a small shop in Australia to EU cause only red ones were available anymore^^ Good luck finding one of those these days. Still think it's a little bit underrated. It's small, extra light and you can obvs. use a lot of different bits. It's a shame that it's the same price as the Raptor, a very overrated tool in my eyes. It's also clearly a working tool with it's tools and the serrated edge, so it's legal to carry in Germany for emt-purposes although it's got a one-handed opening and locking blade. Think in GB aswell.
If the rx had a blunted or rounded tip on its blade it wpuld be viable. Otherwise seems like a gimmick. If I'm cutting a seatbelt or clothes I can't risk stabbing the victim if I'm stressed or they are moving.
I didn’t get the CX because I dislike the look of carbon fiber. I actively avoid anything with it. I didn’t know they had changed it to plain black, that’s great to know

Thanks for the great video. I'm going with the RX just for the peace of mind of knowing I can break glass and cut a seat belt in an emergency.
Thank you for the very informative comparison. I've been looking at these for a month now and have decided to go with the CX.
Glad the video helped!
Carry my CX every day. 😎✌️

Just want to add that the carbide bit can be ordered.
I have an older regular Skeletool from 2010ish I think. It has a full straight edge blade with no serrations.
Great video, personally chose the Rx, not a first responder but I do spend most of my days driving !
that and the serrated knife will last longer in the edge retention overall.
This is a great review!
Thank You!
Great comparison, thanks
Glad it was helpful!

Thanx 😊😊😊
Thanks for the video, I've never seen a comparison of them before 👍
Thank you.

Great video
I watched 50 videos none of them opened the rest of the blades or features

hello, i am a lawyer so, i go for the standard skeletool coyote... EDC thats all
Which would you choose to have only one as EDC - Standard, CX or RX version?
I talk about that in the video!
I can’t stand serrated blades as I have to do a lot of resharpening The CX is the only straight blade right?
Yes
Yes and 154CM on a multi tool is pretty sick.
I recently purchased the Original Skeletool on Sale but i do have the Glass Breaker bit on order,The differnce in price is ridiculously pricey(£50)
