Wow! That is definitely a perfect fire drill with a brand new alarm system. All the alarms are in sync which is a good thing. I have watched several videos of fire drills done at various schools, and it is kind of annoying when all the alarms are so out of sync that you can't hear yourself. Think. It is definitely perfect when all systems are functioning properly, all the strobes are in sync as well as the alarms, and it is the perfect fire drill. Good job you guys. Keep up the great videos.
Ngl but this is one of the nicest elementary schools I have ever seen and on top of that it’s cool to see fire alarms not so Damm loud in the classrooms. I always had the loudest horns when I was in school
Question- do you let the fire department know prior to doing these tests to prevent an unnecessary response in the event someone calls 911? Someone driving by the school could see the lights flashing and hear the sirens prompting an emergency call.
Nice. System is nice. I heard NFS2-3030s are good panels. My school has one. Personally I would’ve prefer if the system was voice evac but Canada doesn’t use Voice Evac unless it’s a high rise. I agree with the Notifier statement. I have a Notifier AFP-400 and I’m liking it
Central York High School also has a voice-evacuation system, though I don't know which type. This is what it says "Alert, Alert, an emergency has been reported. Please move towards the nearest stairwell and exit the building. Do not use the elevator. Please move towards the nearest stairwell and exit the building. Do not use the elevator." This might not be fully accurate as I'm pulling from some old memories, but as far as I know, it says this.
It's a nice interior I'm not a fan of the outside look I still prefer the 2015 high schools but they are also much bigger so I guess it's not a fair comparison
Maybe this isn't all that applicable to Canada, but in case of a school shooting, the fire alarm would trip but you would need to be able to PA a lockdown order. So the PA should have priority.
Definitely not here PA does not get priority over fire alarm ever at all even if you could use it PA it's not loud enough to be audible over fire alarm going off
for anyone wondering why there's the red lines painted on the roof of the school; it's the designated safe zone if you wish to work without any harness (outside the line requires you to have fall harness on and tethered)
I'm glad they actually gave them to us at the school most of the older ones don't have them it's some thing they started doing recently on the roofs which I like so you don't have to guess
Will probably be doing the annual verification this summer hopefully I will be able to film it could be tricky as both this school and the middle school are still being worked on
No need for a horn in the classrooms. My high school had those in the modular buildings. Hated them with a passion. Having the horns outside would’ve be just fine with the strobe only in each classroom.
It's much better to have low volume devices in classrooms and then be able to have low volume devices in corridor's the alternative is having high volume devices in the hallway to meet the decibel requirement for the classrooms it's the cheaper way but certainly not the better way
That is a modern school! Is it mandatory to program alarms in different building to set off each other?(which is every building will sound alarm if one building had its alarm set off)
No that's not the way it's set up if one building is an alarm the other two will simply have a red light on the annunciator showing the other building(s) is alarm
Solar disconnect was something the fire department requested to be added in both the elementary and middle school to be able to isolate the solar system from the electrical service i'm not sure what you're talking about about the cartoon filter as I don't use it anymore I used to use it but not with the new editing program

So? Have they ever caught the kid who keeps pulling the alarm? If not maybe it's time for some dye capsules in them. Also unlike the NBG12s I'm going to guess break rods are an option but not included.

Love your videos!
I love your vids
my school still has its EST3 system that goes off a second time after reset not matter if the pull is reset. notifiers are nice and reliable
All three of my schools that I went to had Seimens FireFinder XLS fire panels by the way. Not sure if they replaced another panel or not.
Really good fire drill videos keep up the good work man love your videos😊
Thanks, will do!
*I am the 100th comment for this video!* This is a nice school. I like this school which is an Elementary/Middle school crossover.

Question about the generators at the schools where are the fuel tanks and how big are they

That system has better sync than your school.
I wonder if the addition to your high school had something to do with the crappy synchronization
It's not the addition causing the issue there is lack of sync in the original area so I'm not sure why it can't seem to be fixed
