Nothing more satisfying than handling a conventional gear with finesse. At least in the airplane world LOL. Beautiful job on the aircraft. I know what you mean about almost the perfect airplane. I don't know if there is a perfect airplane but my Tailwind W8 comes as close as I've had, for me anyway. Keep up the excellent work young lady.

I have to admit the first time you presented this aircraft I was not crazy about it. BUT you hit a HOME RUN with the new taildragger set up. Looks great looks like it was meant to be a taildragger, Great job. I hope you have some great off airport experiences.

Love your videos. The mix of visuals and music is great. And I love the look of Woodstock. The Glastar looked great when you picked it up, but as a tail dragger, it just looks like it wants to jump up and fly.

Love the detail on the tailwheel arrangement at 0:18. Those two coil springs and associated hardware look beefy enough to handle even a rough landing.

Amy, with the conversion to conventional gear Woodstock can easily handle the [short] grass strip near the west end of runway 8...and save the wear on the tires! Splendid upgrade.

Personally, I'm all about the tricycle gear. I like to see the runway. I also don't like to ground loop. But to each their own!
Some taildraggers have better visibility over the nose than others, Woodstock doesn't look bad.. plus you can install a camera for the nose as clearing assistance on Experimentals..extra insurance! But yes, taildragger is a discipline!
It keeps you honest, but it rides a LOT smoother while taxiing, has great prop clearance, and I don't have to worry about the little nose gear buckling in a pothole if I go out exploring.
Great transition! Fly by The Dalles and say hi to us in the TacAero maintenance hangars sometime, and then go find some grass!

Nope!!! It's extremely unnessecary. This plane will go almost anywhere just like it is. The only change I'd like to make is to the the prop. A re-pitch, a composite ground adjustable or, if I win the lottery, a constant speed.
Amy I have a question, I've always flown tricycle gear planes. Looking at the different video angles from rear to front, why do the mains " cant " inward both on landings and when sitting on the ground ? It looks like the tire would wear on the edge as its not flat on the pavement during takeoff/landing.
Very cool plane. Soloed in a citabria...so appreciate taildraggers...are you going bigger with tires? Camera works great. Can't wait till I get some virtual presence goggles and can enjoy looking around while flying...thanks for doing that.
Somehow the video doesn't do justice to the tires, but these are 8.50x6 and will pretty much go anywhere.
