Hi Helen Rose, I was having the same problem with my pool.
    It was driving me crazy.
I would get home from work and find 2 to 4 ducks in my pool nearly every day, with a heap of poo in the pool and on the coping.
I tried blow up crocodiles, flamingos, eagles on a string, fake snakes, reflective balls with eyes on them, bought a pool cover. None of these options were very effective, at best some worked for a day or two.
I finally found a solution to this problem which has been working for me for 9 weeks now. 9 weeks of not 1 duck in my pool on my coping or in my backyard for that matter.
So I've placed one of my long sleeved hi-vis work shirts on a hanger over a chair and clipped a truckers hat over it so it looked like person/scarecrow, placed the chair on the coping and haven't moved the chair for 9 weeks now. I have not had a drop of duck poo in or around the pool now for 9 weeks. I cannot believe it, but it makes sense and it has worked for me. Good luck everybody 🤙💪👌

@Casey Jonathan I ended up not trying this, instead bought two inflatable crocodiles from Woolworths Toy section for about $9 each. They worked 100%. There are still Ducks in the area, though they will not go in the pool area. We also had Cockatoo's and Galahs, and the will not land in the pool area, worth a try👍

Thank you so much Helen. It was driving us crazy every day. We also tried the rubber snakes as well as leaving toys floating in the pool and they didn't work. We bought the Solar Magic security light 1500 lumens from Bunnings $75 and it worked. I was so happy this morning as we didn't have to wash duck poo off the pavers for the first time.

Good idea. I think it will also, help keep out other intruders.
    Thanks for the video.

Your welcome. We haven't had any Ducks since I installed the sensor light so hopefully it will be a successful remedy for you also. :)

Every spring we have had a pair of mating mallard ducks in our pool for the past 5 - 6 years. I have tried everything (several types of floating alligators, hawks, owls, motion sensor sprayers, reflector floating balls, snakes, fireworks, and more!) without success. FINALLY I FOUND SOMETHING! I stretched a black net with 2" squares over the pool about 1-2 feet above the water. We have seen the ducks around our house but not once at the pool. If I could train them to crap in my landscape instead of around the pool I would feed them!

Thanks Helen. Does the light deter ducks from landing in the pool during the day?

A pool with black, tarry poo on the bottom is disgusting 🥹

The best was to keep flies out your kitchen. Put a bucket of doo doo in the living room
