I've used the RGB version of this GVM kit daily for 5+ months filming for the university i work for. Yes, the stands are crap and I never use the plastic diffuser with brackets instead I use lots of silk. I'm filming on a couple BMPCC 6K's so the fact these lights don't get very bright isn't an issue for me. I highly recommend this brand if you're on a budget 😁🎬

@@seandavis8213 considering the cheap price, they're fantastic. Would they remain set up? If they needed to be moved frequently I'd want better light stands than then included stands. If you choose to use the included stands, I recommend purchasing a set of "studio sandbags" which cost $15 - $30 on Amazon.
GVM is the truth ! Between them & neewer they produce equipment that punch above their weight class . However you are correct about the light stands . I Just purchased basic stands from Amazon . Their RGB lights and the phone app are awesome together .

The Switti panels on Amazon are a 2-pack for $299, are more than twice as bright at 19,000 LUX, you can link them, remote, dim, change temp, etc. And come with soft boxes. A superior product for less money. Oh, and come with legit stands.

The Master/Slave function I believe works like a hand held remote control would, it's just built in. That's how they get it to connect without any WI-FI or Bluetooth.

I wonder, what's the color accuracy of each temperature is (3200,4400,5600K, etc.)? I have several of their older light panels and while they are great work horses, the color accuracy is usually way off and doesn't match between panels. Hopefully this is something they have worked on as I really do like this company.

@3:14 My favorite feature too! Can't stand pulling up for a 5 minute job and it takes 30 minutes because you have to resync all your devices.

Personally GVM is not the king of bicolor but they have some absolutely amazing value in terms of super bright RGB

Dimmable means you can change the amount of light output... bi-color means you can select the color temperature to be tungsten or daylight.

How would/could you fit (or can you) a soft box onto it?
Think this more of a bounce/scrim/shower-curtain diffused type of thing. I do like panels like these for bringing up overall ambient light on a set.
