The choice was inspired by the current Proms as was the Cynthia Arrivo request who did a great one woman Prom the other Sunday The classics were covers of Shirley Bassey and Gladys Knight etc etc in this case

Think I've heard Nina do a version with many
more body parts in .... perhaps not thought suitable for that particular audience .... Pretty sure it was Nina herself, not a spoof/take-off ..... (??).
When i hear this song i also can't help thinking of the experiences of the slaves in the south of America - picking cotton etc they had nothing - even after slavery ended! Only themselves and i can't help thinking this song might have a deeper resonance for people like Nina who were only too aware of what life was like for a poor black person in the southern states ( see her "Mississipi Goddam " song).
The slower tempo brings more power to this.
