- Today we are touching on all the specifications that matter when it comes to the Canon RF 70-200mm f2.8 L Series lens. This is the newer version of the lens, designed for Canon's mirrorless line up. It has become my favorite lens to shoot with in the last month, and after watching this video, you'll want one too!
Stay tuned for next week's video, which will be a more hands-on review of my real world experience behind the lens. We will dive into some killer sample footage and photos, as well as some great behind the scenes video of me using the lens on real professional projects.
Thank you for watching, and don't forget to subscribe for more gear overviews like this one! I'd love for you to be a part of this growing community of hungry to learn photographers and filmmakers.

I'm not even a professional, but I think I'm getting this one as an all-in-one travel and family solution.
me too, it's so perfect that im happy to drop 3 thousand dollars on lol
Hell all the RF L lens are almost 3k a piece lol
Dude, that b-roll and the motion tracking text 😮.
Ahh thank you Ryan!! 🙌🏼 had to learn all the tracking text stuff in DaVinci Resolve in a day for a project, so I figured I’d put that to use and throw it in there haha!
@@Jay_Fritts That’s awesome. Fusion is intimidating!
Awesome video, I love that you are straight forward with the info and you don't waste time making creepy jokes. Like smelling the lens while staring into the camera.
The intro is so butterly smooth, God dayum🔥
I recently upgraded from dslr to mirrorless system got myself
R6 mk ii, rf 16 mm f2.8, rf 24-70 f2.8, rf 70-200 f2.8.
I love your b-roll! I'll be watching closely to try to match those moves boy!
Hahaha, do it! 💪🏼
Thanks Jay for the great review! Getting one for myself soon ❤
Heck yeah dude congrats!! And thank you for the kind words 🙏🏼
Nicely put it. I really appreciate it. Can u also make a comparison videos of EF 70-200 with a adaptor ring.
Very informative video especially with the IS explanation. I just purchased one in lieu of the f4. Can’t wait for it to arrive! More excited now after watching this. Thanks!
I just got the 2.8 70-200. I am looking forward using it. My favorite feature is how compact the lens is compared to my older sigma 70-200 2.89 lens.
i just wish the lens didn't extend like the EF versions. Not having to worry about dust getting sucked into the lens when shooting sports or action was *chef's kiss*.
photographing trophy trucks in the desert or at tracks (also in the desert) dust is *everywhere*
but i suppose canon is marketing this for folks that don't go shoot in extreme environments, but instead in controlled settings..
TOP lens... I finally got one... It was my dream to have it for a long time :) I done some most beautiful pictures out of it... i love it a lot.. I being with Canon all my life... They are on top of the list when it comes to quality...
Dude congrats!!! It truly is an amazing lens 🙌🏼 and I agree with everything you said! Canon is the best 💪🏼
Would appreciate if you also give metric values for lengths etc.
I liked this vlog. Can you make one with RF 100-500
Where you gonna make that video you talked about making with this lens?
I've got my eye on this lens for sure!
It’s such an amazing lens!!
you said dust and weather sealing. Does that include when it's zoomed all the way out? My only issue with the lens is that it zooms out externally which I feel like could be susceptible to dust and debris over time which could ruin a $2500 lens. Im a big fan of the EF version since it zooms internally.
Great review!! I'm saving up to get this lense!!
Let’s go man!!! What do you plan on photographing with it?
I just bought this lens for my Canon R6 Mark II. That control ring closest to the camera. You mentioned you have it assigned. Please tell me how to program or set that up. Is that done through the camera ? Thank you in advance.
one of dream lens Zoom Native glass 🔥 Even F4 to me its Fine...
Hey there. found your YT from FB . Keep it up !
Aye love to hear it!! Thank you so much, I absolutely will! 🙌🏼
5.7 in isn't small☹️
Nice video, I work at best buy and I get to actually test this lense out also other fr lenses like 100-400 24-70 it’s pretty cool lol
Oh dude that’s RAD!! Gosh… what Best Buy is carrying those kinds of lenses???! Haha!
Best Buy in Florida lol, I thought that was normal
@@Creative.visionzz dude that’s sick haha! And not at all! Not professional cameras or lenses at least lol. I’m sure it’s because you’re in a more touristy, popular travel destination!
@@Jay_Fritts oh ok yes that might be true
Big Respect!🔥 very very nice Vid with nasty clips👌🏻 finally found a video with some proper Video clips of the 70200👍🏻 Im so hyped to use this thing… this Winter is new combo time hahahah R6mk2 with this beast of lens.
One Question;; do you fish by yourself or are these clips from a friend?
What is difference between face tracking and subject tracking? You mention it
crazy good video man! Appreciate it!
New subscriber from India.. which protection filter you used on this lenses
Welcome to my page! I use a properly sized Canon UV filter!
I have a question. I see my photos shaper on the EF 70 200 2.8 at f4 than at f2.8. Is it the same case with the RF version?
Very informative video ❤
What is that opening on the side of the lens hood?
To adjust filters
Whoa
Nifty count… jk thanks for the video. Just picked one up and can’t wait to try it out. Sub’d
Make damned sure you have your Prime Lens game set before going with a zoom. Love my 70-200 but it is soft at every focal length.

Is someone counting how many nifties we're getting in this video? 😅
