Glad I was around my phone to take the call and be of assistance!!!
Jared Polin you da man
Jared Polin awesome cameo!
The hole in the lens hood could lead to a fail in the wind test.
I need to call you. I want want to borrow that A7IV
my two favourite photography accounts interacting -- hyped!
I'm really disappointed that Jared doesn't answer the phone with a "JAAAAAARED Polin ..... Froknows.... FoTOOOWAH!" :-(
... dot com
i feel like he should even enter the room like that.
Haha yes! That would be funny.
@@BanjoeTraveler "...And you're speaking to Jared on the phone! In today's phone conversation, what would you like to discuss? State your comment now... But not before a message from this phone call's sponsor, Squarespace!" ?
I’m relieved he doesn’t. I don’t watch his videos much but, if I do I fast forward the first 5 seconds
You have such a cool aesthetic man. Definitely one of my favourite camera channels. Keep it up
I still have the first 70-200 2.8 that I bought 15 years ago and it's still one of my favorite lens to use, especially for video.
That was like the biggest crossover in history after Avengers Endgame hahaha
Ferdinand Parga yes!!!
It was far more satisfying than Endgame.
Adam Relayson tue that
Adam Relayson true that

Been watching the Fro for years. Love that dude. It would be pretty sick to see you two do a collaboration. Or some quick fire critiques. ;)
thank you.
@@froknowsphoto , I cant wait to see to see what version of your T-shirt I get from your cyber Monday promo.
@@froknowsphoto you are a really good human being. Genuinely, though sounds kissing ass, but you have almost always replied to my comments on your channel, and that speaks a lot of a person thats not consumed by his success to the most fundamentally cellular level
Was lucky enough to get my hands on one last month and it’s already a permanent fixture in my kit... absolutely love the chody little thing! Biggest thing I am impressed with (aside from the insane quality) is how well it handles dust! We’ve had a heap of dust storms in Australia lately and it’s handled that great and I’ve had no issues with break dust when shooting motorsports too, internals look as clean as they day it was opened!!
I have an ef L 70-200 f4, absolutley in love with this focal lenght and this lense. New lenses is briliant but old is good one too!
Me: *Christmas shopping for others*
PM: "The BEST just got BETTER"
Me: *Christmas shopping for myself*
LoL
Used it for a day, AND YES this lens is sharp.
Big fan sir
I am just wondering why has no one has commented on your comment
Ha dada. ❤️🔥 Mojjj Kar deee🙏👍😀
Big fan ❤️
Is it a lot sharper than the F2.8 EF 70-200mm L to warrant paying an additional 2k?
Was looking at a 70-200 but decided to go for a 85 prime instead. When shooting with my 24-70 GM I noticed I lacked a lot of range not being able to go above 70 and I'm starting to love the compression that 70 gives. How ever as someone shooting low lights and mostly portraits the 85 makes more sense for me personally. That said, would love a 70-200 sometime in the future!
Enjoy your lens Pete!
The 15-35 RF lives on my EOS R I can’t wait to see your tests to see if the 70-200 RF is worth snagging.
my two worlds just collided today...never thought i would see those 2 in a video together lmao (not a bad thing, love them both)
Unboxes the lens : IT'S SO CUTE 😂
I’m on the 70-200mm f/2.8 III and love it. Even shooting professionally, I can’t justify this jump, but I am looking towards the RF lens system for something in the 16-35 range since I don’t have that sweet spot in EF glass yet.
PETER, PETER, PETER. You're the freaking man. Thank you for existing and showing everyone, following your passion is obtainable. Take the leap and keep making mistakes until; well keep making mistakes. Learning and progressing will never stop. Any way you could show us creators how to clean up and edit audio in Premiere Pro or other ways? I understand this is another art and beast in itself, but basic effects and edit would be greatly appreciated. I feel that sound is just as important as lighting. Thanks again for showing me the light!
2:19 Jared Polin, Fro-no Photos....
RUclips is becoming this small community of creators
they were lucky enough to build early on know they have an easy time making money from videos. anyone starting now will have a harder time
@@RayValdezPhotography What is harder about it now?
@@dna8269 saturated and weird algorithms that wont send people your way and the monetization i hear isnt as good.
@@RayValdezPhotography pete isn't that long around ...shorter than i do thats for sure 🥴🤣🙌
@@RayValdezPhotography i respectfully disagree... I follow this guy Jeremy Siers, some dude in Florida... similar content to Peter, but with his own personality flavor into his channel and I seen his channel grow within a year to 150K + subs...RUclips content creation is like working out... if you are not consistent, lifting heavy, and keeping up with the diet consistently for 6-8 months, you wont see much change
Your work is so motivating! Thanks for being you, loving coffee and being a sweet Canadian!
Pete. I own RF 70-200 for 3 months now. I have travelled Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore with it. It is killer lens for vids and photos.
So awesome how creators are getting together and helping each other out. That shows positive view on how we can band together and do positive things. And yup I was expecting the Fro knows photo.... lol
I just love my RF lenses! Still thinking about the RF24-70 and the 70-200.
Feel free to send that lens to me when your done 👌🏼
Cameron Kaiser haha same
Liked your comment so he can see it, would be so cool if he actually did 😵
You're
John Evans good one..
Thanks, man. I work out.
2:50 Sometimes that longer throw allows you to get some really nice sharp focus, but I could totally understand that complaint. Looks like a great lens, I think it will actually fit in my backpack.
I'm excited for the follow up video! The 28-70 f2 is my current dream lens but this is pretty high up there
Yeah baby!!! Love when my day moves up a notch on the Peter M stoke factor
I marked out when you called Jared 👏 I wanna see you guys in a video together hopefully we get that sometime in 2020 🙏
Peter! That text transition where it breaks apart and jumps across screen at 6:05.......SOOOOO AWESOME!
Peter and Jared in one video, one of the best crossover of 2019!
The eating it LOL so good. Stoked to see a full review of this
what a new episode in the same week! love this!
I’ve been using the RF 70-200 for about 10 days now (with the Canon R). Unreal pictures!!! I have used it for some outdoor stuff as well as a local basketball game. I want to put it to the test doing some aerial photography ASAP. I can tell that, for what i shoot, it’s going to quickly become my go-to lens! Thanks for the video and I’m looking forward to your next one!
I love your videos!! You are just hysterical! And I love how you just get right into the subject as quickly as possible. Happy new year!
Peter & Jared in the same video makes me happy
Was just checking my phone when the video came out. 😍
Day saved
Love your gear reviews. If money weren’t an issue, the canon RF system would be starting to look 🔥 thanks for the amazing content Pete!
The new 70-200 RF looking like baby Yoda lol. Nice cameo by the Fro!!!
I recently bought an EOS R myself. It would be cool to see you review the 35mm f1.8 RF since it's the most affordable lens for this system!
I can’t wait to see your review on this lens
Yess!! Thank you for doing this! Soo worth it! Love the size- huge difference !
fantastic video! absolutely love this lens, I've been waiting and waiting for something like this to come out for the EOS R, ive been using the EF 7-200 f4 and I cannot wait to upgrade to this! I was talking to canons live chat about it earlier and along with this video cemented the idea of upgrading!
I got to try this lens before the PETER McKinnon himself?!?!? Woah.
Love the work Pete.
But I'm guessing you actually paid for it!?
Nothin makes your day like a fresh PM upload :)
Impressive speed with this zoom lens. Looking forward to your results Pete.
What is that sound effect with the titles?! I'm loving the subtle details of your videos lately. Smoothe lighting, crispy sound effects, and really clean colors. Love it!!
Man, I wish I could get one of these! The smaller footprint it has in your bag is super appealing. I'm wondering if the telescoping part has any weather sealing/proofing?
I'm sure it does. I have had a number of push/pull lenses over the years, including the 150-600 Tamron G2... which seems well enough sealed. I used it a lot and have seen no dust entering the lens, or moisture issues whatsoever.
FRO KNOOOWSS PHOTOOOOO DOT COM AND THIS IS a small hole in the lens hood
🤣🤣🤣5:45 "Just wanna eat it!" OMG I had to stop watching and disclose how fascinated I was about that. Just hilarious!
I haven’t watched a PM video in like... over a year. The new setup looks gooood
I’d love to get that lens. Actually started saving for it. For now, I’d settle for you reviewing the RP for stills.
"Its so cute! It's like a little pet!" 🤣 Best part!
RF 70-200 just arrived. Looking forward using it. I have loved my 70-200 ii, but as you said, takes up to much space in the travel bag and now using the EOS R, it feels a bit large with the adapter. SO yes, very excited about this lens!
I have been using the f4 for years due to its size and weight savings. Nice to see the faster lenses getting lighter!
You calling Jared Polin was the highlight of my day 😂
You called the fro bro!!! 🤯
Loved seeing the Fro in your video! He was my first introduction to photography 9 years ago!
just subscribed to epidemic. thanks for the great direction. I'll be gettin the R soon. Loving this lens!
We all would really love a canon eos rp review.
"Bludgeon someone" immediately makes me think about Harry Potter and trolls in the dungeons. :D
Thanks so much for these videos they honestly help so muchhhhhh!!
love your videos, your presentation and your work...bless you for everything you put out bro
Peter: calls jared in his video
Jared: explains what the hole in the hood is using Peters ND filter as an example in his video
I'm digging the love boys
“I don’t wanna be carrying the world on my back.”
-Peter McKinnon 2019
peeps just complain 2 much about weight so they need to hump around few heavy AK's around to get used to it or else hit the gym
Big Fan of yours and started my own photography journey
When I first started working for a wedding film company, I haded using the 70-200 just because I didn't know how to wield the beast. Now, its my goto. Details have never looked more magical.
Peter: "I've never seen that hole before?"
Sony: "It's so 2016!" 'continues sipping it's beer'
Pentax: that´s so 1985...
Idk if it was canons first lense with it but the 100 - 400 Mark II had the hole as well
3:10 it's not the length that matters but the girth. As with many other things.
This lens is... Wow!! This way to keep the 70-200 compact is great!!!
RF lessens are definitely the number 1 reason why I'm keeping my Eos R even if I'm not totally happy with it. And now, when the RED Komodo will come out with RF mount... new possibilities will open up...
Got the new RF 70-200 and f**king WOW😍It is easily the best 70-200 on the market. Only downside is the zoom distance as Peter and Jared mentioned but you can get around that by just taking the tripod collar off. Keen to see your extensive review Peter 🤙
Is it a lot sharper than the F2.8 EF 70-200mm L to warrant paying an additional 2k?
Soooooo early
Another great vid peter
And another reason to spend all my money
Dang dude you kill every video! 🔥
Those bloopers tho! LOOOOOOL!! Like a Marvel movie - stick around after the credits!
Jared Polin making an appearance in a PM video 🤘🏻 that’s fricken awesome
I don’t even know where I am at by now I just LOVE your content and your personality. God bless you
Rented one for this upcoming weekend for a family Christmas photoshoot. Excited to play with it, but dang it's out of my reach to purchase it!
Waiting all year, did you order it from Wish 😁😁
PM: I just wanna eat it !
Me: laughing so hard after hearing a person say I just wanna eat it to a camera lens
I love my 70-200. It’s so magical 😍😍
I'm not even into photography. I have a Nikon D3100 from many years ago but never use it. I don't plan on getting into it in the future. But MAN do I love watching this guys videos. No matter what it's about!
it surely looks nice, better storage is always a plus (and the lower weight as well)... but i really don't like how it extends :D i know it sounds weird but i don't like how it looks... i always love when the lens does the zoom internally. it just looks right :D
but hey, i still can't afford it so my opinion doesn't matter that much :D
Yea and I expect weather sealing is also affected even if they say it is sealed
@@madmarty2892 yeah, i think so... i would be always worried about it
@@madmarty2892 My concern is when you zoom you are drawing air in and out of the lens tube, are you drawing
dust into the element area also?
@@jamesscarborough9545 yup that's why the weather sealing can never be as good for moving lenses
Bro! I just ordered mine the other day! I cant wait!✌🏼
That looks sick!!
Not gonna lie, Jared was who got me into photography back in the day. Watched his video on the Nikon D3100 back when it came out. Still have it too. Would love to see a colab with you two, the FRO and PM....come on gotta get that one day!
Imma be honest here...
I’m still trying to get used to his hair.
Lol
I much prefer the internal zoom. Not a fan external zoom.
I bought the 70-200 Mk III a little over a year ago and have found no reason to take it off of my camera. It is a phenomenal lens! It's sharp, versatile and I have even shot in the re=ain with no issues! I am not ready to switch to mirrorless just yet - though Canon may be releasing a 75 MP EOS-r next year and depending on the specs that may cause me to make the leap.
Peter! I was really inspired to start my own Videography channel about How to shoot on festivals because of you ! Thanks for that :))
Peter I have a few comments about your music selection for this video.
Yes.
that would be one comment
Exactly.
“It’s a stubby little thing”
Me: That’s what she said
Hey, but it gets the job done!
.... "its so cute" :( double the insult
Bloody beautiful! Absolutely fantastic. Peace and love.
Just got my first camera yesterday and subdued to you today thank you !!
Where's the enthusiastic "WHATS UP, PETER MCKINNON HERE!" intro? You run out of coffee or something?
This actually makes me kinda mad I didn't go with a EOS R over a 5DmrkIV
Purchased this lens TODAY and like a child.... I couldn’t wait to get home so i pulled over on the freeway and took a few shots.... IN LOVE.
Best collaboration ever
Watching this video again after 3 years, still can’t afford it 😢
me too
That new RF's size and weight progress it's just amazing, but the fact of being external zoom takes out the weather-sealed right? I think the price can almost compare to the quality, excellent quality but a bit pricy. Thanks, Peter for everything!
Heyo! Awesome seeing the Fro on here!
Love your vids Peter! :)
3:18 ‘everything is a little more ReFined’ - they don’t called it the RF lens for nothing
