    The panel actually comes out of the hole itself. No need to take the bottom panels off. Just installed mine today

    I installed mine but it’s not reading the trailer . I have and done exactly what the video showed. Is there a fuse or something I need to put in or flip one of these two little switches on the control box.

    • @TheRuralDad
      @TheRuralDad  2 месяца назад

      I’m trying to remember if there was a fuse, if there isn’t one on the unit there should be one in the fuse box as it’s plugged into factory wiring. I remember something about the little switches but I didn’t have to do anything with mine. Unfortunately I don’t have the installation instructions anymore. I’ll try to get out and have a look at mine later. Definitely double check the wire connectors too. They are so tiny with not a lot of room for error.

    Wish you had shown how you removed the bottom panel so you could get to the pop-out plug

    • @TheRuralDad
      @TheRuralDad  Год назад

      There is one screw on the driver side of the bottom panel to remove then it just pulls off. The middle panel just pulls off. Then there were a few screws that hold the main panel on. I just figured it out as I went. I don’t know if it was the proper way or not so stuff like that I tend to not focus on. I don’t want to be blamed for someone breaking theirs.

    I know it’s been a while but… what plug did you use to plug in your 7pin in the back of the truck

    • @TheRuralDad
      @TheRuralDad  6 месяцев назад

      My trailer has a standard RV style 7 pin so I was able to use the factory 7 pin plug on my truck. If that is what you mean.

      What broke? The metal end that goes into the clip or the wire itself?

      I think you are talking about the Molex pin connector.

    Question: I just ordered this unit, I like the form/function and it seems like a well designed system. My question is does the system "remember" your settings or do you need to set strength and sensitivity each time you power up? Obviously stopping for food, gas, camping would mean a lot of resetting! I am assuming the main unit has an onboard lithium or something similar to maintain when powered off? Thank you!

    • @jackfetter
      @jackfetter Год назад +1

      Second question: I understand pressing the button and applying manually can be a huge help if you experience runaway sway, in essence stopping it almost instantly, but... does this mean you have to set the braking level once by pressing and rotating, and then if you do press it later, does it "remember" this too or will it always start at the lowest and require you to rotate while pressed (obviously not "instant", as it would be if it remembered the level you wanted/set)?

    • @TheRuralDad
      @TheRuralDad  Год назад

      It remembers your settings.

    • @TheRuralDad
      @TheRuralDad  Год назад

      I may not understand 100% what you mean here but when you manually press the brakes it will go back to zero for the manual function. It won’t change your other settings

    • @jackfetter
      @jackfetter Год назад +1

      @@TheRuralDad Thanks for the quick reply! I mean, if I push the manual button and hold, and say rotate the dial to 4 LED's, if I then release and re-push later, is it still set to 4 LED's strength or back to default (and I have to both hold it down and rotate each time)? My concern is pushing in an emergency is quick but pushing, holding and rotating isn't so much...

    • @TheRuralDad
      @TheRuralDad  Год назад +1

      @@jackfetter just push and hold in an emergency. You don’t have to rotate. It’s just like other models where you slide the slider to apply in an emergency and then it bounces back. If that’s what you mean.

    that piece popped out and i can’t get it to go back in. is there an easier way to do that. i feel like im gonna break it when pressing against the sides. do u have to pop that whole thing off to put it back in?
