    I used this C4 on my E46 Touring (a lot of black trim) 3 months ago.
    It brought it back to looking as good as new, and still does today. 3 months down the line and I'm very happy with it. Admittedly it is more expensive than the other trim restorers out there, but if it lasts as long as it claims to do (up to 2 years) then I'll be more than pleased.
    The prep work is key though, i cleaned all the trim with IPA before applying the C4 and it looked great from the start.

Also I've switched to auto finesse avalanche snow foam. I use black magic tire wet and yes ik it's not meant for this stuff nor is it very good. But, when I got my car it was completely faded (04 expedition xlt with black plastic bumpers) and looked terrible. I did all the same steps but applied the tire wet once a week for 4 weeks and now it has fully soaked in and lasts about 4 months which is great for me considering a bottle of 23 oz is just a few bucks

    Great demonstration, just got myself some of this to use on my 17 year old Discovery, the trim isn't actually too bad in most places so this should get it back to factory condition, however I think the wheel arch trims will be too much of a challenge as they are rough plastic. Even if it goes on it'll be almost impossible to buff off without the plastic tearing the towel apart. We will see.

    Now tho, for the people that don't mind doing it every now and then when they wash their car. U can use rubber seal protection. That's what I do for my tires,rubber seals of course, side skirts, door trim, even interior and so on. Yesterday I even covered my whole front end in it, since I still haven't painted my panels and bumpers. It does the job if the panel has gotten a matte look

    Had no luck with this Product on my wifes mercedes wiper arm cover. It looked nice and almost new for nearly a half year now it's just grey like before. Cleaned everything properly and let it dry for 2 days indoors. Wondering if other Products could do the same for a fraction of the price. I would be fine with restoring the trim once or twice a year but this stuff is not cheap 😁

    • @tomatoindustriesdetailing2955
      @tomatoindustriesdetailing2955 8 лет назад

      bing crosby. Thanks for the tip. I watched a video by the maker of SF and he explains it has protection component in mixture. From my understanding from talking to the guys who sells it in Australia the better quality the plastic the longer the produst lasts. I normally allow to dry for a week and then visit customer and apply 303 Aerospace Protectorant over the top. If the customer is on my monthly Maintanence cycle I apply 303 each month. According to the makers of 303 it should be reapplied after 5 weeks so it fits in with monthly maintanence. I normally like to use 303 on interiors but thought I'd give it a go over the top of SF after talking to rep about drying time. 7 days he suggested. THe only problem I've had with SF is when I dressed trim on white car that had lost all clear coat and I'd restored base coat with light polish. The car was being sold. The job was for my neighbour and and an hour later it rained. The next day I noticed black streaks running down panels. I had to polish it out of the base paint that had absorbed it. Pain in the ass really. Other than that one time I have had no issues with product. As for Car Pro Reload it seems to be a silicone Detailer Spray used as an overcoating to Cquartz and the like. It can also be used on trim. But I'm not sure about putting over SF. Maybe it ok. I tend to steer away from silicone products.

    +car cleaning guru. If you haven't used solution finish you should try it. Works awesome on oxidised black plastic and rubber trim. In the end our choices are to either cover the oxidation or remove it through chemicals. I may be wrong but this product just coats surface but does not remove oxidation. Solution Finish penetrates into plastic and removes oxidation and finishes well. I guess it's 6's and 7's. As long as it looks ok and customer is happy. Job Done.

    Went out and bought some of this after watching your video, cant say im impressed one single bit really. Tried it on the exterior plastics on my clio 182 sport and all it really did to be honest was restore colour a little bit and put a bit of a shine but other than that no better than anything else really, will have to see how it lasts but it certainly didnt put any black back into the trim just looked slightly blacker than before I started and shinier, is it worth the expense???? not in my opinion.

      How have the results lasted over a few months? is it really "permanent" or does it just wear off like every other oil based product

    Halfords used to do a interior cream renovator back in 2000, it was the best product I ever used. It made the trim come up looking new and had a lovely eggshell satin finish. Does anybody know who made this for halfords or is it available under a different brand name?

    I don’t love our 2003 focus that much 😏
    I’ll just give a quick wipe over with Back to Black from the £1 shop and buy 23 cans

    Paint thinner and boiled linseed oil works good as well and probably less pricy mate. We usually don't use that lingo here in Canada but I thought I would use it as it what you use! CHEERS
