Hi Lee. Thanks for watching mate. Pink Stuff is a light abrasive paste that comes in a pot, which you can buy from Home Bargains / B&M. Costs about £2 and you simply get a soft cloth and rub a small amount over the coin. I only ever use it on very flat & unidentifiable coins, and you certainly wouldn't want to use it on anything of value or importance. It's a good way of rubbing off the crud and crust to get down to any detail that remains underneath. I have tried all sorts but Pink Stuff works the best. The more you use and rub, the more you will take off....so eventually you would get down to the bare copper....so take your time mate! Hope that helps
Great video mate. You mentioned Pink Stuff and you had my attention. What finds do you recommend to use it on and what do you apply it with, cheers, Neil
Hi Neil, thanks for watching mate, and appreciate the kind words. I only ever use Pink Stuff on finds (typically copper coins and other copper / brass) that are very flat and detail free. Because it's a mild abrasive, I would never use it on anything shiny, nor of value. It's a great way to rub off the crud (I use a soft microfiber cloth) to reveal whatever detail might be underneath. I do a little at a time and rub softly....as eventually you will expose the bare metal below. Hope that helps mate, and thanks again
Thanks Colin! The cufflink is classed as potential treasure (despite being relatively common in these parts) so off to the FLO it went! No idea when I will see it again! Thanks for watching my friend, much appreciated
