    Looking back I think it becomes quite obvious that Ned was always talking about "my wife" and not about Ariel herself. He was never celebrating her, but rather he was celebrating himself and the fact that he was able to be the first married. Marriage was centered around what it meant to him - rather than the relationship between two people. That's why he makes comments like "Unmarried at 35" because he views it as a goal post and classification rather than an organic consequence of two people feeling love. As uncomfortable as it must be for Ariel to watch people pick apart her cheating husband's behaviour - I think it's also really important that as many women as possible learn to see the signs. You DO clean well enough, you SHOULD split chores 50/50, your husband SHOULD care enough to take down his own video if you're being trashed in the comments, and he should not make comments like that especially not to other women. I hope the consequences of this scandal increase awareness about signs of cheating - and encourage more people to leave relationships where they don't feel nurtured.

    That biological clock comment is absolutely DISGUSTING. The whole biological clock thing is doesn't really exist, and such a sexist thing to say to someone. Someone's choice to reproduce or not is their own choice, and is private, and it is incredibly demeaning to insinuate that a woman will be "expired" because she doesn't have a child. Someone may not want kids, or medically cannot have them. Either way it is a tasteless and insulting remark. Ned was ALWAYS my least favorite, and it's clear to see why. He just annoyed me.

    • @madison2226
      @madison2226 Год назад +64

      I agree that it’s okay for a woman to choose if she doesn’t want to have children and that it was completely inappropriate for Ned to say that to her. However, I do have to say to you that a biological clock for woman’s fertility 100% does exist (a “biological clock” exists for every organ tissue in the body). It’s harder for woman to conceive starting in about their mid to late 30s and becomes harder to carry to full term.
      Again, a woman absolutely does not need to have children to have a fulfilling life. But saying the biological clock “doesn’t really exist” is just simply wrong. People have definitely used it to be sexist towards woman, but they’re not technically wrong scientifically, but they are wrong in a human decency kind of way.

Where the hell was his common sense? Was it arrogance or just he was dumb? It was selfish and irresponsible. Even though it is messed he was cheating, he could have just kept it a secret instead of going out in public with his colleague at clubs, restaurants, and concerts. Ned is extremely competitive, that’s just kinda how he’s been known in the Try Guys, so him flipping out like that makes it incredibly confusing on whether or not it’s actually a joke. It's one thing to openly choose not to be monogamous. If both people in the relationship agree, there are no problems. But if you both agreed to monogamy and entered into marriage with the understanding that it would be monogamous, that is different. He didn't hold up his end of the contract. He betrayed her. They didn't have an open relationship.

      A lot of people like that song. It's a good song.
      It doesn't mean they're all going to cheat.
      Not to mention, it's from the POV of a woman who's either being cheated on or afraid she's being cheated on, not a guy tempted to cheat!
      It's just one of those things that seems unfortunate in hindsight, but, really, I just a meaningless coincidence.

    I recently got confirmation my husband has been having an affair with a woman from work. This is so sad to watch because I felt a lot of the same things I can now see were signs! Especially getting mad at me for anything I did around the house instead of being thankful at all for the work I put in. He never cleaned, but my cleaning was suddenly always wrong for some reason. It’s such a small thing that feels awful. I feel for Ariel.

      @rebekahcreates Год назад +1

      Yeah, but something that seems impossible can be missed for much longer than an outsider. They were together as a team for 8 years, and Ned was completely and genuinely in love with his wife pre-pandemic and babies. An affair would seem so impossible in that context that everyone (except maybe Nick, their production manager) would have totally missed the red flags

    There was a try guy episode where their dad was in and if you just watch his father you knew what kind of person he is. His dad was cold acted like he is better in everything talked down on him no emotion, what would we expect from a men who was raised by a cold distant men high chances he was so desperate for his approval but never got that, and if you count how Neds sister turned into a alchoholic now she is better but lived for a long time with Ned and Ariel when she hit rock bottom. It was expected that Ned would turn out the same type of men his dad
