Took this advice and ended 2 unproductive, toxic relationships...one with a female and one even with a family member. Diverted the time and energy to way more productive and meaningful endeavors. Very liberating. When you reach a tipping point where you value yourself and your time more then what other people may think of you, the lightbulb comes on and changes your life.

You don't need to have huge muscles, huge income or frame or whatever it is. YOU NEED SELF RESPECT! I have learnt my lessons in hard way but luckily I wasn't stupid enough to sign a paper. I keep around 8 other men in work from my business I bring in. They appreciate it but when things get tough, they whine and whinge. That is the time to be cool and give them confidence and tell them you believe in their skills and knowledge.

the difficulty in not caring what other people think is in direct correlation to how much control you have over your life as compared to how dependent you are. Its pretty much that simple.
Are you in control of your finances? Are you dependent on anybody? How much street smarts do you have? Basic survival skills? do you cook? do your own taxes?
The reason why people give less shit as they get older is because they are at a point in their lives where the answer to these questions are being checked off one by one. Your at your most dependent when your young. Your dependent on your parents. Your guided by your peers. Your married to your job. etc. Less control means you give a fk because your dependent and its not a surprise.

When i was younger, i was like you to a degree. When i recognized that women simply used my thoughtfulness to take advantage of me, i stopped that aspect of myself ruthlessly. After that, when i wanted a women, i was able to get one. When she no longer pleased me, i could get rid of her. Respect women, but don't cater to them. I give an F about everybody. The level of care and manner on how it’s manifested differs per individual.
