Devon is such an amazing ambassador for arm wrestling; being able to be a world-class elite champion while also being such a down to earth and understanding teacher is such a treasure and really brings hope to the future of the sport.

i agree he is very tactful and well spoken, i honestly have no interest in arm wresting as something i would personally do but just watching this video and also listening to him speak is interesting to me, you can tell he knows a lot but is laid back and doesn't take himself super seriously. that's a sign that he is a good coach and also good content from juji/tom's perspective!
He's just the average Canadian. We're all just remarkable people here really. Lol. Im jk, Devon is definitely laid back and down to earth, especially for being a world champion. Props to him

It isn't just the passion that makes Devon good at promoting arm wrestling. It's that he is passionate and also has the intelligence, charisma and outgoing nature to be the point man of the whole sport.

Aside from Devon's fantastic coaching, Beau's sportsmanship, how about we all applaud Tom's shoulder commitment?
Devon Larratt truly is a class act! I didn't know about him until a year ago or so. Bottom line, it's almost impossible to get someone to take time out of their day to show you a skill, because they don't want you to succeed or be better than them. Devon actually takes the two guys in this video and everyone watching what steps you need to take as a beginner. Devon Larratt is the BEST!

I think M. Todd did a great job with his strategy in that match the way he trapped Devon's hand and stalled. But I also think Devon's conditioning wasn't anywhere near what it could've been. I think Devon will be in top form next time around and will prove his superiority.

So I'm sitting here watching Devon Laratt give a full workshop to "Juji's videographer" and "Juji's fulfillment" guy with "Juji" sitting behind the camera. And now I realize, Jujimufu isn't Jon Call anymore. Jujimufu is Jon, it's Tom, It's Beau, it's even Sam hiding in the background. Jujimufu is more than the sum of it's parts now. And that's pretty freakin' OK.

That's maybe not the brightest idea.. at least spend a bit of time to get used to it a bit. I watched a number of videos on how to properly hit a golf ball.. then I watched a recording of myself.. and there were certainly a few things wrong with it lol. Even after trying to correct what I saw in the video.. it's still hard to do it.. because there's a number of things to be mindful of, and just getting the proper feel for it as a noob, is difficult. Even if you know what to do.
In armwrestling, you can get caught out by little things.. sometimes happens to professionals who have been doing it for a long time. Like the last Zloty Tur.. happened to a guy who had been armwrestling for 12 years.
He had a really fucked one too (including the surgery). Certainly wasn't one to be brushed off too lightly.
Starting slow and getting a feel for it is always beneficial.
BUT! if you were already armwrestling with completely shit form.. then definitely go for it! lol.
Although you might run into people who don't know how to protect their arm, and they might think you're cheating.
It blows my mind how analytical Devon is. In a sport often presumed to be decided by brute strength, he has analyzed the biomechanics involved to seize upon any conceivable advantage....remarkable!

@@StephenDoty84 I read your comment and watched the john brzenk video and while I think it tells good information it doesn't really explain or show you how or what these things look like. So to answer you I think for raw information the brzenk video is the way to go but for visuals and a few laughs and a good half hour I would prefer juji' s video
@@dillj5118 OK, thanks. Thoughtful answer. I agree this has more little mechanics to see, especially with the wrist. In Brzenk's tips video, it shows how he turns his wrist and then dips his body smoothly for the pin which I try to imitate by example too, a clean, economical motion.
Gotta say these past videos with Devon have been some of my favourite content you've put out! It's relaxing and informative

Funny thing is you can lift heavy like Thor and still not have enough power to pull Devon's arm across that table...it is just mind blowing
@@mikimiyazaki i agree to a point.of you have seen the previous episode with Devon pulling all the arm wrestlers from Juji's club...you very seen very experienced guys trying to pull Devon and they have plenty of technique too and made fools of themselves. The major difference when 2 experienced arm wrestlers meet is the stronger guy will win.an Devon is unbelievably strong. Another example ...when Devon met Denis C...the brute power of Denis overpowered all of Devon's...
As far as Thor...Devon actually has more power in all his arm and shoulder than Thor.
If you do not believe that
..watch Alexei Voevoda or Travis Bagent pull 2 or 3 guys with one arm... and that is stronger than any strongman...they are only training that arm while strongmen train for all body strenght and simply are not at that power level for arms. Imho. Of course...Devon can clear this in 2 seconds if he reads this

My point is arm wrestlers have all arm muscles joints tendons training to work together at insane power levels.whereas a strongman might have a biceps a shoulder a tricep but when put togheter simply do not perform at the same level as a top arm wrestler. I guess muscles can be trained for stamina...for speed...for brute power ...way to much science involved to explaine it...

Otherwise a 100 lbs arm wrestler would also pull Thor over the table using just technique...and that is not possible.so power is where it is at...technique will make the difference when power levels are close in competitors....
That being said I would love to be able to exercise with the heaviest dumbbells at my gym..but it will be a while until I lift one that heavy...
@@mikimiyazaki Dennis broke the world record for the strict curl in 2015 so I don't know if Thor or any other strongman could outdo him that easily on that lift.
@@mikimiyazaki Its not an exception. Arm wrestlers can generally curl, especially static curl, A hell of a lot more than strongman. Hafthor cannot static curl 180 lbs in one arm like Devon.

They would need to lose some weight so they can get their elbow closer to their body but with 18 inch forearms and their long reach they would be excellent. Devon is a technical master so he makes the best coach.
I don't see any way they could not be amazing at it with enough training.
