@@JohnjOcampo I don't agree that WAL is the best, but I do agree with everything else. I prefer the sumo arm wrestling more since it's freedom of movement in a more complete sense. Regardless, I do believe that people attacking Todd is literally unfounded and not cool. The guy has so much hate around him it's astounding. He is actually pretty down to earth.
Does he have an ego, yes. Devon has one too. It's competitive when it's two guys sparring. Hard for it to not be competitive when it's your rival.
I am a fan of larrat but I also love Todd too. I am such a fan of the sport that I find myself cheering for athletes like Ian and Matt at times too. I wish other people wouldn't take sparring so seriously so that these athletes could just let go at times too.

@@devonsstemcells1442 he does that arm workout every week (not with bfr's), but that does not mean his body does it like nothing and he's all fresh after finishing; i do a heavy pullup day every week, but that still doesn't mean i'm all good and at full strength after doing it, your muscles are in the middle of resting afterwards; i once finished doing a heavy workout with weighted push ups and handstands so my triceps, shoulders and torso were dead afterwards and my dad beat me when we armwrestled right after I was done; your muscles are not the same at all, now imagine armwrestling a bigger guy who's totally fresh like larratt was when he arrived

The relationship between fierce top-end competitors is a razor edge between friends and enemies. Devon is chill with it, as competitive as he is, he's so chill when it's not official matches. Todd always seems on edge with everyone when arm wrestling, not just Devon. Can't we just have fun and enjoy the sport during practice? :C
These dudes are INHUMANLY strong. In the back of your mind, you may think, "I bench xxx lbs...I can take them". No. You can't. These dudes could snap your arm in seconds if they wanted to. Devon is a once in a lifetime armwrestler. Michael is a top 1%er. Iike that armwrestling is starting to get some recognition. There is a ton of technique. Michael is using the "king's move" to tire devon out. Michael gets a lot of haters for using this technique, but it is a legit strategy . Very painful for whomever uses it, but that is why michael is always in the top ten...he can handle the pain and saves enough in the tank to finish his opponents after they gas out. Devon is just on a whole different planet though. Dude is a FREAK! love them both. Great ambassadors for the sport.b

Tisha: I was just talking about a certain type of guy that thinks arm wrestling isn't a skilled sport. Ask any pro or even amature armwrestler how people react when they are told that a person competes. There are always a group of guys that think they can easily beat them. It was more of a statement that people erroneously think armwrestling is a mindless spectical rather than a very intricate sport requiring tremendous discipline and practice.

You mean this Cyplenkov who literally just got examined finally by a doctor who said that there is not way his body can withstand another round of the horse steroids he has been using for years. He would drop dead if he faced Devon right now. and that is the cost, Devon will still be doing this when he is in his 80's, and Denis blew his entire lifetime of matches in a few years.
I think Denis isn't a bad guy, but the people who have pushed him to abuse his body with steroids for that many years are not his friends, they don't care if he dropped dead, as he would if he tried to do what he did again. In that lead up to Devon match hew as using so much gear that he literally caused an entire organ failure where every organ in his body stopped. I hope he gets better, but I also hope, as much as his matches were fun to watch in many ways, I hope he stops before he kills himself... it isn't good for the sport, it isn't good for him, and it isn't good for all the kids etc watching the sport either. Another reason why Devon is such an ambassador for the sport, he is someone that you can have kids look up to, inside and outside of the sport...

It was unfair to expect him(as no.1) to fight his rival publicly, unprepared, with no compensation , with no professional ref, and after he'd already worked out.

Allow me to be perfectly clear, I am not saying anything about him as a person. He had his reasons I am sure. Just kind of lame lmao. First of all, he took round 1, so he already "won", but then he took a fat L (imo) by not just having fun at that point. Talking bout "I CANNOT BE PEER PRESSURED"... like bro. It's cool. Relax. I'd revel at the chance to go a few rounds against Devon if I was in his shoes. Practice with another world champ? lol. whatever though
the thing is he takes this shit serious. even if its just for fun, he's too competitive that if he loses, he won't be able to sleep at night. plus as they mentioned, he, juji and Tom just did a heavy workout so he wasn't 100%. thus making him even more hesitant on doing more rounds.
for me, he didn't lose any respect. he's a legend but he definitely is a bit of a party pooper/buzzkill.
I think it was wise he not continue. His arm was blown from a workout, but no one pays attention to that sort of thing. So if he kept going he would've just looked weaker than he actually is. He gained SO MUCH popularity from this match, his youtube channel doubled in like 2 weeks
@@Me-wk7dz I am not a pro so my opinion doesn't matter, case in point, mike could've stood up to a few more matches and possibly win again. You can argue having trained that day is a disadvantage but its possible to argue the exact opposite. Devon being "fresh" likely means the risk of injury without a warmup or workout is pretty good for him too. Mostly his attitude about saying no made me lose some respect. He could've just said "no thank you good match" but not everyone is like me. I'm glad for his success with his channel I still wish him well
