- In the search for arms and artillery, Captain Rex brings the rebels to an old abandoned base from the Clone Wars. They quickly find that they're not alone, however, and must once again face enemies from the past.
This scene kind of stresses me out, because every droid that gets destroyed is basically a rare antique
There is some droid factories that are still lingering in the time of the empire if they weren't reactivated then the empire wouldn't know where they were so they wouldn't be destroyed

Yeah, I was wondering what god do they have and how common or a phrase is that to use? Also does that mean it can feel fear because I would think if you build a droid specifically for combat purposes you would not program it to retreat in a situation like this. It’s out in the open, no cover, outnumbered but it has a clear shot on at least one, why wouldn’t he shoot?
Well that's kinda the reason they have to reset droids every so often or else the become self aware

wales2k the Stormtroopers would be overwhelmed to the point that they retreat. Those droids put up a fight against the Clone Troopers and they’re superior to Stormtroopers.
There was a geonosian named Gizor Dellso, who reactivated a Droid factory on Mustafar and also repaired an entire Providence-Class destroyer with some fighters all by his own.
That alone was enough of a threat to send in the 501st Legion. Imagine if the rebels mass produced all variations of battle droids, with BXs and Droidekas, with heavy armory like spider droids or AATs and an entire Fleet

Actually it is canon that the stormtrooper's armors provide better protection than clone's. Also there is a thing called morale, the clones being trained by Jedi wasn't so good as motivated troopers who had their planet saved and decided to enlist, the Academys get the Troopers with a 70% accurracy, and even kenobi said that the Troopers were good aim. Just get the facts, mate.
Droid are good at shooting enemies because they are the old battle droids of the separatist they have experienced war before so that droids are good if the rebellion found the secret droid factory and rebuild more that would be the balance of the troops so that the empire storm troopers will lose

The droid who got stepped on, the poor guy actually started waving his arms around. That is NOT standard protocol. Seeing his comrades fall caused so much trauma that he became more human, developing a fear of death and overriding his commands to negotiate and his "instincts" to fire back.
Remember droids the longer they are alive and no memory wipe they more unique and human they become, look at r2d2, never had his memory removed so he was just as much a free thinker as humans are

And before this, Rex had a PTSD moment that showed the clones were human. He reacts and calls out for Cody thinking the war is still on and Anakin is on the way to save them. You don't get that many instances of writers of a series showing the effects of war on an individual.

Well in both versions of the EU they did have to fight Separatist holdouts. There are probably more battle droids left than this episode implies.
The General is probably heading out to an untouched holdout (or a place likely to be untouched after the war). Either way, I honestly doubt we'll see the last of him.

Yeah, Some B-2 Super Battle droids actually survived up to the Force awakens, So I would assume at this time there are still at least over one million droids left in existence at the time of rebels.

Fun fact: while there were very few separatist holdouts left by the time the Rebel Alliance was formed, the CIS remnants provided the rebels with several Lucrehulks, Providence-class carriers and Banking Clan Frigates. Each one was manned by one battalion of Battle Droids (though the droids were mostly used as security guards, which allowed the rebels to use more recruits for their infantry and navy). In addition to that, they were able to add about 10 Hailfire Droid tanks to the Alliance military, but they were used very sparingly and only during sieges.
The rebels also came close to activating a hidden droid foundry, but the Empire beat them to it and destroyed it.
A famous Rebel Lucrehulk called the Fortressa served as a rebel capital ship until it was destroyed by the Death Star.
However, the Confederate ships became outdated once the rebels acquired the Mon Calamari cruisers. Nevertheless, they all served the Alliance until the Battle of Endor, where they were all destroyed.

Rebel alliance to restore the Republic… they were literally part of the galactic republic but when the empire took over they decided to form their own barricades to fight against the empire and to reestablish the galactic republic
You got one thing incorrect. Most of the confederate cruisers were destroyed in the battle of Scarif, with only a single vessel making it to the battle of endor.

In Star Wars Battlefront 2, there's actually two missions where you have to quell an uprising of Sepratist Droids as Imperial Stormtroopers, which was pretty damn cool.
+MrMyriad well the clone wars was pretty massive, and it had only been over for 19 years when the Original Trilogy started, so it makes sense that there would be some aftershock coming from the Separatists.
You right. The reason they give for this is a Geonosian who was in charge of manufacturing the droids used factories on Mustafar to make a new army while using a fleet of existing droids and sepratist flagships to defend the orbit. IDK if this is canonically sound but it seems legit.
Anyways, it ends in you destroying the flagship and glassing the factories so that's fun.

This isn't a cross-over though since its all within the same universe, same galaxy and within the same timeline, canonical storyline and has the same characters from the same franchise. I guess you can say the same about Marvel but the characters are more individual in that universe as a handful of them have films dedicated to just that one character.

In this case it's two groups of people who shouldn't exist meeting new ones.

+Rodrigo Martinez they had a bigger budget, that explains the better artstyle for the clone wars (I am not sure but it is a possibility that the artstyle of rebels is also this way because some prototype artwork for the original trilogy was like this, of course this could not be case, I don't know for sure). I like rebels more because I realy love the originals and I am not realy into the clone wars era. this is of course my humble opinion :)

In Legends, the Clones were solely loyal to the Republic, it’s just that the Republic gave the Jedi the “keys” to command them so to speak. However, due to The Clone Wars series humanizing the Clones, and giving them individuality, the betrayal seemed less plausible, so the Inhibitor chip was introduced in Canon. I actually like the change cause it adds a sense of tragedy to the Clone’s existence.
To be fair, the “betrayal” was always related from the perspective of the betrayed. Chip or not, that would have felt like a betrayal. I honestly can’t remember if there were stories about the the Clone Wars that intimated any explanation other than the one set down in TCW, but I do remember that the control chips made their way into several Expanded Universe novels, mostly those involving Fett or Mandalorians.
Rexs helmet looks weird, I know that it got older but, still it looks more bigger then in the Clone Wars.

4th wall breaking, when a Separatist Droid Commander & Captain Rex Republic clone trooper come to the realization that Palpatine/Darth Sidious not only instigated the Clone Wars but played both sides like puppets.
Think they already knew, but let their programming dictate their lives and actions. Hard to defeat wartime experiences like PTSD and lost comrades

cause of a company buyout George Lucas decided to basically retire and sell the company and star wars so in turn cause of this star wars the clone wars was cancelled cause of the merger so this is kind of George Lucas's fault but I don't blame Lucas film and Disney they did did pretty well the force awakens was a big hit at the box office the Phineas and fern crossover was great and star wars rebel is going to be an amazing series and everything they did so far is also great and also the show is actually made by almost the same people as the clone wars team we dave filoni and others too so don't blame anything on Disney these people are doing Disney seems to have little to no involvement on the show's team and please don't judge it until season 3 is over ok

for example the droiddeka shields over heat now and can easily be lowered so I doubt that other advanced droid's would fair much better
They aren't in a droid factory, they are in a crashed and old starship with limited supplies.
We'll see him again, but I doubt the Empire would have been foolish enough to leave entire droids factories simply "deactivated" and abandoned.

Thibault Doucet I don't know most if not all of the droid factories were hidden deep in the outer rim and the empire has trouble monitoring the outer rim even at the height of there power there must be hundreds of hidden droid factories that sidious never even heard of especially since he left dooku and the separatist high council in charge of all that info(who were all killed by Anakin Skywalker)

In hindsight, it's kind of surprising that the remaining B1s weren't re-fitted as service droids considering how polite and harmless they are when not in giant, armed swarms.
In clone wars there is a scene where a commander b1 frames the droid next to him as commander in order to save himself from being shot. There was also the scene where a b1 turned off a bridge while another b1 was clearly still on it (who was completely ignored by his squad who all noticed the alarm). There was also that one scene where a b1 droid made fun of his dead friend because they were one of the older models controlled by a central computer.

Assuming Disney doesn't rape anymore of the lore, the CIS holdouts and their droids get obliterated years before the first deathstar is completed.
adventurethroughtime Disney loves to skullfuck Star Wars canon, so assume we'll see more CIS. Though for the record I read somewhere that the Rebellion managed to activate a derelict CIS droid factory and produce some battle droids with it.
The Cool Persian the rebellion did have some CIS ships as well....
In the EU, remnants of the CIS did assist the early Rebellion, provided them with ships and so on. It wouldn't be Disney changing the lore in this case but more accurately bringing it back into "canon".

I remember that mission, droids vs stormtroopers. Damn, the setting and atmosphere gave me goosebumps when I play that mission but my most favourite have to be the one in kamino, the one you attack the cloning facility as stormtroopers, clones vs stromtroopers, best nerdgasm I ever had when playing that mission .

When I first saw this episode, I literally jumped up and cheered. I love both the clones and droids. I loved how funny the droids were and how badass the clones were. Combined and they were the best. I wish they hadn’t just dropped clones and droids like they did but still

Almost everyone's Star Wars fantasy came true in this scene: Stormtroopers meeting Battle Droids and having them fight each other.
It would be funny that the Stormtroopers said: "Take down the droids" or "Shutdown the droids" like they did in SW Battlefront 2

I am really hoping the tactical droid finds some abandoned droid factory and rebuilds some droid reinforcements for the rebels. Probably won't happen but it's a nice touch. I love how they are mixing elements from both the prequels and original trilogies, shows that maybe Disney hasn't forgotten all about the prequels.
Tyler D Filoni has proven time and time again that every episode has a purpose down the line (even the most random fillers), so chances are this isn't the last we see of Kalani and his droids.

It's a recurring joke from the Clone Wars series. They did this constantly in that series. It was honestly hilarious, an interesting implication that the Battle Droids might have been given a limited degree of self-cognizant thought.
