You can create you own patterns with the rhythm creator and assign them to variations then assign to your FS6, but like you say its a pain in the arse. Also you have 3 extra channels compared to the RC300 and you can record the rhythm parts on to them then assign your FS6 to them. Personally I use tracks 4,5 & 6 for percussion in single mode, and have tracks 1,2 & 3 in multi mode for my guitar and bass parts. I have 2x FS6 style swishes which I assign to 4,5&6 play/stop, which means all my percussion is controlled by them, when I start one loop it stops the other without effecting my guitar and bass parts . Also doing it this way doesn't limit you to the RC-600 rhythms. I make my rhythm parts in Ableton with Addictive drums 2 and they sound amazing compared to the standard ones. As to the expression pedal you can pick one up for like £11, personally I don't use one and appreciate the size decrease. But I hear you, It can be really hard moving from an old device that has almost become part of you to something new that has loads more features but doesn't control the basics in the way you are a custom too.. Nice vid

      Thanks for the comment Linz,
I did find a work around which is similar to your comment.
I tried the recording idea after seeing another video on youtube. Which works unless you have a song that is a little slower than the original rhythm recording because you can here the bits.
I dont like single mode, I prefer to build up each track as I go, so you can bring channels in and out.
I did something similar to your suggestion, I wrote my own rhythms hehehe I then ran into more issues which I have a solution for, Ill do another video when I get a chance. Thanks again :)

What is the assign button to change the variations in the rhythm?

Pretty good vid. But I get the impression that this is more of a situation of being use to the 300 for so long and not liking having to go through a completely new learning curve of the 600. I think I can relate. I HATE having to completely learn new gear after spending so much time to get my old stuff down perfect.

      Thanks for the comment
I have worked out a way to do it, And part of the solution is to, rewrite your own rhythms and create 4 variations and fills for the pattern. Very fiddly! but does the job. If you are looking to do this you will run into issues when you have phrases that are fewer that 4 bars.
For example, if you put a cymbal hit at the start of a chorus or big section, but your loop is only 2 bars. The rhythm will hit the cymbal on every 2nd bar lol
I have made a work around. I will do another video on that soon!
      Cheers

@@blakekeep4947 Thanks!! 👍 BTW, one thing that may help when it comes to scrolling. By pushing down on the dial to detent while turning, it accelerates scrolling blistering fast to get to the area you want, then you can turn the dial without pushing it in to select individual selections

😄I have the RC-500 and I can change patterns but you have to program the switches or use external FS or Midi control and I'm sure it's the same on the 600....??
    (pattern up/down) at least

Thanks for the comment, you can change rhythm variations only, not patterns. Only 4 per "pattern"
