Great review, very thorough. I have both of these boots and agree with your comments 100%. It did take me a while to get used to enduro boots, they are very stiff but it was worth it. I went down once in the mud with the Tech 7s and lightly sprained my ankle, I'm sure that if I had been wearing the touring boot I would have broken it.

Oh wow, what a coincidence. Sorry to hear about the sprain, did you twist your leg? You’re definitely right about a worse outcome with the adv tourer.

Just picked up Garrne G Dakar, lots of protection and waterproofing but more relaxed and comfortable than the Gaerne Fastback Enduros. They both have good soles for walking around. 👍🏻

I do have the so called in-between boots: Alpine Stars Corozal Adventure Drystar Oiled Leather Boots. But I am looking for an upgrade to Tech 7 or 10 (Enduro). More protection on off-road and in very wet conditions, is what I need.
Thanks again for this nice and explanatory video. Safe rides bro!

Yeah, they are a game changer. You just don’t have to worry about your feet anymore, they stay safe and dry.

Great review. I have the tech 3 boots and like them. Next boots will be tech 7.

... Last year I got back to the dirt (CRF 300 Rally)
Looking for a good boot, I did a lot of research and decided on the Tech 7 DryStar .
Loved them from the first time I put them on. VERY comfortable.

I have a pair of Forma Adv boots (the lower ones) and the ankle opening is huge on them, also. Otherwise, they are a great bang for the buck, everyday boot.

Yes, much better than a hiking boot, or the pink hello kitty crocs I see some people wearing here 🤣

Having been much interested in ADV Tourer boots I placed an order for them with Amazon yesterday. While looking forward to their arrival I am collecting info about them, for which your vid is a good reference. A bit concerned that the Velcro part was torn off but I don’t think it will be a problem as far as I am enjoying being a city adventure rider on my R1200GSA. You have an interesting channel. Subbed you.

Hey thanks a lot. Yeah, that happened after going into a real tight bamboo single track off road. If you’re on road, you should be fine.

    Hello,
Even, I was looking out to buy either the tech 3 or TCX-X blast. And now still looking into Garene too 😅. Haven't purchased one yet. Your review helped me on more insights.

There are a lot of good boots out there. Just think about what kind of riding you do the most and fit the boot to that. Good luck!

Now we know why those perplexed looks from Japanese people when the blonde blue eyed American blows them away with perfect conversational Japanese keep up the A+ work I’ve learned a lot from you sensei

Cool video. I found it since I just ordered size 42 and 43 of the Forma ADV Tourer boots and looked for videos while celebrating the buy. Personally I'm a 100% tourer/streets guy so that's my argument. That said I really wanted a pair of dainese torque 3 or Revit discovery. First one was just too tight and Rev'it is very expensive here.
Since you're also in Japan, maybe see you on the streets✌🏻

They will serve you well. I just wore mine the other day while riding through Tokyo, light rain, no problems at all. Are you Kanto based?

What about loosening off the upper straps when walking with the Tech 7? I forget to try this. LOL.
I have the non-enduro Tech 7's and absolutely love them for Offroad and trail riding a KTM XC 300 TPI enduro 2 stroke. Do not not even know I have them on when riding for hours at a time.
And never feel anything when I have a tip-over and the bikes ends up on top of my lower leg.

Ditto, if you watch my adventure series videos you’ll notice I’m in these boots ALL the time without complaint. Best boots hands down in terms of protection and comfort.

I've stepped into the tech7s vs tech5s at the store and the (additional inside) hinge that the tech7s have is definitely worth it. it felt so different from the 5s. but I still havent pulled the trigger. I wore these and walked around the store and it felt like ski boots! was it a big change when you first started riding with the mx boots? did you get used to it pretty quick? does it change your riding style/techniques a bit?

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  5 месяцев назад

If you’ve been riding for a long time, it’s harder to get used to these. But not impossible. You’ll most likely have to make adjustments to the shift peg and rear brake peg.
