Hi, The chain adjustment instructions say to raise the bike with lifting gear (paddock stand) before measuring and adjusting the chain. But in your vid the bike may be considered as only half lifted as the stand is taking a lot of the weight. This might mean that you have over tensioned??? Also interested to know about top end speed with the 14 tooth sprocket... I would like to be doing less revs at 110km/h but with the 14 tooth sprocket you will be doing more.
Hey thanks, that’s good know! As for the 14t, you will generate more revs at higher gears as it’s a smaller gear (less distance to travel). If you want less then keep the 15t and down on the rear a tooth. Good luck!
河原でキャンプ。KTMが3台うらやましいです。楽しそう。日本の景色のはずなのにADV-Japanさんの動画編集のおかげなのか映画のような、非日常を感じます。次もまってますw
Thank you sir!
very nice vid, wonder who the instructor was?
Yeah, Buck, he’s a friend of mine based out of the Philippines. His company, Adventour, runs tours in Mongolia
@@advinjapan cool, i am from the philippines myself and i could definitely recognize a filipino accent when i hear it ;). cheers!
@ninoroldan2448 oh yeah, dead give away 🤣
Great video again. Nice to meet up with freinds talk and share storys and make memories,
Yup, one of many chances to come, I’m sure.
アドベンチャー欲しくなります!道がない所バイクで走るのってワクワクしますよね😊
何よりも最高です。一緒にのろ!☺️
That was a fantastic video!!! I just purchased the same throttle lock, except from Amazon and I wanted to here from someone, who actually used it and you were the right person. I want to thank you for your info, which was very easy to follow. I appreciate you.
Hey thanks a lot for the kind words. Glad I could be of service!
Hi what clutch cable did you install? Royal enfield clutch cable?
No I went with a German company Voit. But the Himalayan is cheaper and will work just fine.
@@advinjapan have you tried the hima?
I have not but it’s good, I’ve friends who have.
@@advinjapan do they also have youtube channel?
@primoventures yeah, if you search RUclips you can find it.
Yet I'm over here with my Harbor Freight Apache 2800 case that I got for $20. 😄
Harbor freight is great! I loved my old case, too, just needed something larger and easier to remove.
Do you have links to the case and rack?
I got mine cheaper on Amazon so I’d search there first, but maybe it’s the same for you on AliExpress. a.aliexpress.com/_okGluVB
That's a huge effort to create this video. Thank you for sharing your bike and all the love you've put into it! I bought my 2020 390 Adventure a month ago and started doing some off-road riding with the stock setup. I fell twice, so now I'm looking to improve everything for off-road trips. This video gave me a lot of ideas and helped me create my own wishlist for the bike. Thank you again for sharing your experience-it’s a beautiful bike! Happy riding, and stay safe.
Thank you for the support! And have fun with the upgrades! Any question, let me know 👍.
@@advinjapan Thanks for your quick response! Do you know how high is your seat after the raise of the forks? Stock its 855mm i believe
@notcris highest point is about 880ish but I have a plush DIY seat so it sits higher than stock.
@@advinjapan Great, thank you! Did you have to adjust the rear shock ? or anything after the fork riser?
@notcris nope! It took me all of 30 minutes to install
Welcome to the Moto Pizza Delivery Club! 😝 Looks very nice and what a great DIY inner storage, you made. I myself have the huge 56L Givi Alaska Black Topcase. I use it for work to store equipment and spare (IT) parts.
Haha, yeah, it took me a while but I finally gave in 😅
I have got the 65L big boy, same "AliExpress brand" for like 180€. Best choice i've made, good quality and is like a car trunk😆. Used only for big trips.
Haha, on a 390 that would look insane 🤣
Thanks for the review. I have been looking at that one for a while. It is nice to see the size of it on a 390. Im still struggling with the added weight when handling. I know i will overload it. Ha
Can’t do worse than me with all that heavy gear in there 😅. I think it’s at 12kg with all that in there. But still better than my last setup in terms of convenience. Plus, if I wanna just roll around in the dirt I can remove it.
Which Fender on the front?
Hey Christian, it’s a Polisport universal fender with a custom mount. You can find the information in the description.
Good day. Have you tried changing your cam chain tensioner?
Hey! No I haven’t, sounds like a pretty crazy job.
@ You just change it on the side. Above where the clutch arm is. So, you don’t hear any rattling sounds yet?
@choompa ah, I see what you’re talking about. That noise is actually my engine guard. There was a loose bolt. Thanks though for the the heads up!
You and your partner have had some bad luck lately. Let's hope things turn around. Thanks for your hard work.
Thanks Jack. Yeah, that’s life I suppose. Things are getting better day by day though 🙏
Forma also makes and ADV boot vs. the ADV Tourer boot which does add much of the additional protection that you point out between these two boots and still at a lower price point than the Tech 7's. I've always had good luck with Forma.
Hey, thanks for the comment. Yes, I am aware of the adventure forma boot. I’m pretty sure I mentioned it in the video. While this larger boot does offer more protection than the Forma ADV, its level of protection is nowhere near the Tech 7. But that difference is most obviously reflected in price as well. But hey, those Forma’s are better than the sneakers I’ve seen some riders wearing🤣. Ride safe dude!
Thank you for completing the series and so glad your wife has made a full recovery.
Thanks Hillquest for all the support!
I'm glad that your wife's condition has gotten better. Adapt and overcome.
Thank you so much. Words of wisdom
Nice one, man.
Thank you sir!

Thank you so much for your support Nokotanu, you’ve always been so kind 🙏.
Absolutely breathtaking, I have no more words other than... stay safe and healthy, both of you and be thankful everyday for everything in your life...
Thank you sir! You pretty much nailed it😅
Glad your wife has a positive recovery and thank you for your great productions. You are an inspiration
Thank you Ron, as always, you’ve been a great support too🙏
Great video. Under your circumstances. And hope your wife gets better. The strain it can take on everyone. I understand. And once again take the time out to record edit all this. From here in the UK. 😊
Thank you so much, Guy, always appreciated🙏
I put the "one finger" on, but I could not find neutral because the clutch was partially engaged. I've adjusted it a bunch but I'm not sure it's going to work for me...
Man, im sorry to hear that. The best practice is to start back backing out the adjust at the lever to where is barely biting. After that go down to the clutch arm and make adjustments there. Finally, ensure that your lever ajudter knobs are somewhere around the 3-4 mark. Try that and see if it works. You may also need a different clutch cable.
Wish I could find a 16 tooth. 24 RC390 kif you know where please help! Have a blessed day
Hmmm, I haven’t heard of one but a quick google search might help.
It's impressive to see these together! Love how you've taken a DIY approach in places, very practical and focused on real-world improvement without just throwing money at every little thing. I'm making notes on how you've attached the tool roll, as simple as it is I need to finally get mine mounted to the bars. Also jealous of the fuel delivery upgrades, I've been seeing a lot of jerkiness on my 390 lately (all OEM). Happy riding over there dude
Thanks a lot mate! I’d say most of those upgrades really work for me. But mostly I recommend the tire and fork extender upgrades, absolute game changers those are!
aliexpress link please
Here ya go bro: a.aliexpress.com/_onBaktD
sorry you're right your link is correct. it's me who's wrong.
No problem, thanks for watching out for me though 🙏
votre barrure sur la maille qui unit votre chaine est posé à l'envers. dans ce sens elle est susceptible d'être accroché et de la perdre.
Thanks for the heads up. You mean the wrong direction or the wrong side? It’s definitely in the right direction. You want the closed end to face the direction the chain moves in.
7:22 Can't see any coolant in the reservoir?
Probably the camera color profile, but it’s in there 😁
Did these last longer than the OE?
They are still on there, so I’d say that’s a big yes 👍
Does replacing only clutch cable work for rising handlebar or is it needed gas cable or another cable to be replaced too?
A bar rise over 8cm may require a new brake cable.
hey man, great vid! another 390er here from greece, also bought the windshield but cant really understand how to put it on in the right way,do the little hooks at the low end get into the headlight??? waiting for your vid desperately great content, keep it up!!
Thanks! Are you talking about the Aliexpress 790 windshield?
@@advinjapan yeah
@Kopenko it bolts into the OEM bolt hole on the headlight just like the OEM stock windshield, super simple. That lower bracket is meant to hold the windshield.
@@advinjapan oh so there is some space between them at the bottom end of the headlight, correct?sorry about the chat here
@Kopenko yes, though I would maybe put some padding down there to prevent rubbing or vibration during high wind.
Hey man! I love your videos! Can you tell me where to find these crash bars? Does he offer them in orange?
Thanks a lot! These are the OEM crash bars so you should be able to find them on the website. And unfortunately, no they don’t have these in orange.

Thank you so much Nokotanu for your kind comments. そうですね。妻入院しましたけど、今元気で大丈夫です!いつもありがとうございます!
Hey there. A really good demo video. I've gotta ask, the bottom plastic plate with two torque screws which you mentioned which holds the headlight assembly, can it be removed from the outside or it needs to be done from inside? Was wondering if that can be a quick access for the ports 🤔
Hey thanks! It’s been a while. Are you talking about those plastic torx screws that hold in that bottom plate? You remove from the outside and yeah, I think you could probably wire up some fog lights through there.
@@advinjapan yup right I was asking about em. Thanks will explore 👍
@ravigemus2 you will have to probably drill a hole though, it’s pretty tight down there.
I like the stickers on the front fender - can you send us a link where we can get them? You have created a fantastic machine. it has amazing options and looks incredibly amazing. If they sold such a motorcycle in series, it would certainly be unrivaled in the class of light adventure motorcycles. Greetings and I wish you long, unforgettable journeys on this KTM machine !
Thanks a lot! Very kind words friend. I actually make the fender sticker myself 😅. I purchased decal wrap from AliEpxress. Just search “KTM Orange Decal Wrap”
So the forma would be good for city riding to my job and keep the during my day? I'm about to buy a bike and I am not going off-road but I like long boots and I don't care about wearing long boots whole day "I like the looks". Or do you suggest a boot out there with better protection but still comfortable? Maybe new Gaerne G adventure or Oneal Sierra Pro? I can get those boots or some from alpinestars about the same price in my country.
Anything that will give you more protection is always the better choice.
Hey @ADVinJapan. Fellow 390 adv owner here. I have a question. Will the 2023 clutch switch work with older model (mine is 2022)?? What year model is your bike??
Hey! Yes it will, mine is a 2021.
not a good idea. more restrictions than the original hose and, above all, it's going to breathe hot air and an engine likes fresh air because there's more oxygen. the ideal is to let in as much fresh air as possible. even the cover in the form of a filter breathes hot air. solution: a less restrictive, washable filter and get more fresh air.
Thanks for the input! I’ll consider for sure 👍
So for us Imperialists, you got 65 miles on your Low Fuel warning, and another 5 miles on zero. Good.
And if you’ve got an extra fuel bottle even more.
今日KUSHITANIで見かけました〜 かっこよかったです。

Thanks for the video.
Thank you!
This bike won’t be finished until you sell it.
Haha, I’m afraid you’re probably right 😂
do the double take mirrors vibrate at high speeds ?
Nope, not mine at least
What is the top speed with this setup? And at what rpm are you at around 110kmh?
Hardly affects top speed. I’d say probably 100-200 rpm higher in lower gears, even less in higher. I did a video on this too: #19 - KTM 390 Adventure - Front Sprocket Upgrade - Riding Impression ruclips.net/video/Tr1phgfpVzg/видео.html
