    What a legend!.
    Fantastic video 🙌. I love watching your videos on our adv 390. I got mine last summer, about 8 months now, munching roughly 11k miles. I have been following your content along with Adv Matt. You folks are really doing a great job at DIY and motivated me to get my adv 390 instead of other bikes in the segment.
    Always appreciate the efforts that goes into each video 😄.
    Love from India 🫶
    Cheers mate!

      Always appreciate these comments. Thank you so much. OneOldManRiding is also a good channel for the 390. Hope to get out to India myself some day!

    This is essential info if you need to replace the electronic throttle tube. Thank you so much for sharing this.

    Thank you! This video was the best resource I found for fixing up my KTM 390. I hit a tree and had to replace everything from the frame and forks forward. BTW, the headlight is $1100CAD, so try not to break those.

      Thank you so much! Wow, I’m glad to hear you’re okay. 👍 the headlight doesn’t surprise me, everything else on this bike is crazy expensive 😭

    I am thinking that when I finally dig in here to get to these, I am going to wire in waterproof connectors and wire tie them up outside of the light so I can plug and play in the future.
    Another great video

      Yup, that’s also on my list of to do as well.

    Thanks for the detailed video! I had no problem disassembling the headlight unit. The assembly was a bit more trying as I mixed up the order of parts to be put on and my family walked through my well organized screws on the floor... But it all worked in the end! Now have a Zumo XT mounted and wired as well as the sily cigarette lighter replaced with a USB charger.

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  6 месяцев назад

      Oh man, yeah those screws can easily get mixed up. Glad it all worked out in the end👍

    Good info, Joe about the accessories wiring. I plan to put one of those Carplay displays when I get mine, so it's good to know. Thanks for the tip!

    Thumbs up for not coating every fastener with locktite. It seems like every "youtube mechanic' covers everything with it these days. You make this job look like it really is not that daunting because it isn't. Remember that the manufacturers make these bikes to be assembled quick and easy. I agree with you that a lot of the fasteners on this bike are crap. I'll watch most any video you make.

    Good vid but i found that on 2023 model there are 2 additional bolts that hold the headlight in

    Great video! Very detailed! If my entire assembly shakes like it is a bit loose what bolts would I check to tighten?

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  6 месяцев назад

      I’d check first the bolts that attach the headlight to the frame. Next, the bolts that hold the headlight. Finally, the smaller bolts that hold the two halves together.

    Thanks bro. I have to rewire a lot of stuff on my bike (2 sets of auxiliary lights, heated grips, hazard light button, etc.) and this tutorial helps me a lot. I am also thinking of replacing all the crap bolts at the same time. I just need some good amount of time to do this and without haste...
    By the way, how are you doing, still recovering? Get well, relax, don't rush, we can't replace things on ourselves as easy as on our bikes...

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  11 месяцев назад

      Thank you! Yeah hit two birds with one stone, replace those boots and put all that aux stuff in 👍.

    Hey there. A really good demo video.
    I've gotta ask, the bottom plastic plate with two torque screws which you mentioned which holds the headlight assembly, can it be removed from the outside or it needs to be done from inside?
    Was wondering if that can be a quick access for the ports 🤔

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  3 месяца назад +1

      Hey thanks! It’s been a while. Are you talking about those plastic torx screws that hold in that bottom plate? You remove from the outside and yeah, I think you could probably wire up some fog lights through there.

    • @ravigemus2
      @ravigemus2 3 месяца назад +1

      @@advinjapan yup right I was asking about em. Thanks will explore 👍

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  3 месяца назад +1

      @ravigemus2 you will have to probably drill a hole though, it’s pretty tight down there.

  • @manuelcalvino674

    Wooow what happenen whit that auxiliar lights, we need that video to see wich pieces you use

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey, thanks for the comment. The light are a cheap Japanese brand. The mount is totally DIY, just a metal bar I bought from the hardware store and bent into shape.

  • @discopunkgr
    @discopunkgr 11 месяцев назад +2

    So, this is the easiest method to access the power connectors inside the headlight unit? I was thinking of installing heated grips by using these connectors, but it seems too much trouble. Now I am considering using the connectors under the seat since the grip cable is long enough...

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, I ran mine to the battery terminals. There is just too much wiring with heated grips to fit in that housing, headlamp won’t go back in.

    • @virajvrooms
      @virajvrooms 11 месяцев назад +1

      If you are two people then you can detach the whole headlight unit from the neck without stripping it down. Most important plugs surprisingly have mounts in which those can be tucked. What I have done is pushed the ports that I need down. So it's accessible easily from below the headlamp unit. There is a small flap you can unscrew.

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  11 месяцев назад

      @virajvrooms Yes, that’s a great point. I didn’t think of that.

  • @holden3083
    @holden3083 6 месяцев назад +1

    Have u done a auxiliary light install vid? Or where did u get power from please?

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  6 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve done auxiliary lights, but not a video. For aux lights I recommend going straight to the battery. There is typically a large voltage converter that won’t fit in the headlight cavity. Good luck!

  • @allentig
    @allentig 5 месяцев назад +1

    So when you unplug the headlight, is there a replacement bulb there or is it just one assembly? When i search online, it is showing bulbs you can buy, but the whole piece is like $600

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, there is a replacement bulb that you can replace. The whole unit is very costly, but no need to go that far.

  • @CCCZuzu

    No, please no. It took me 10 hours to f*kin add the veridian cruise control.. tragic experience. The headlight didnt fit back until i ve removed the lighter soket😅

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I’ve been there and done that too. That cavity up top is the best place for extra wires.

  • @holden3083

    👍. How do u find the headlight cover / guard please? Does it create shadows, dull the light, reduce light range or spread? Ect.

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, invariably it will spread and dim the light. I passed the inspection here though. I don’t think it’s super necessary imo, more for looks if anything.

    brother, you are traumatizing me with all of the brokend bits, etc. Hummmm, what about connecting the pressure sensor to the Bluetooth dash, an app via phone or helmet directly? I haven't looked for a connectivity type unit...come on, manufacturers. KTM needs to add more room to mod.
    Thank you for being so brave.

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  11 месяцев назад

      Haha, that’s why I make these videos. I break stuff so you don’t have too 🤣. As far as I know, it’s not possible to connect those Bluetooth sensors to anything but the unit atm, would be nice to have an app, though, you’re right.
