That's a huge effort to create this video. Thank you for sharing your bike and all the love you've put into it! I bought my 2020 390 Adventure a month ago and started doing some off-road riding with the stock setup. I fell twice, so now I'm looking to improve everything for off-road trips. This video gave me a lot of ideas and helped me create my own wishlist for the bike. Thank you again for sharing your experience-it’s a beautiful bike! Happy riding, and stay safe.
It's impressive to see these together! Love how you've taken a DIY approach in places, very practical and focused on real-world improvement without just throwing money at every little thing. I'm making notes on how you've attached the tool roll, as simple as it is I need to finally get mine mounted to the bars. Also jealous of the fuel delivery upgrades, I've been seeing a lot of jerkiness on my 390 lately (all OEM). Happy riding over there dude
Thanks a lot mate! I’d say most of those upgrades really work for me. But mostly I recommend the tire and fork extender upgrades, absolute game changers those are!
Great video! As far as the 390 windsheild issue I think I finally solved it. I bought an 18" Madstad windshield specific to the 390 and added a spoiler that I bought on Amazon. I bought the Kemimoto spoiler, but there are others that should work. The Madstad by itself in the highest position caused the wind to hit my helmet at about eye level (I'm 5'9"). Adding the spoiler put the wind completely over my head and now cruising on the freeway is actually pleasant! I don't even wear earplugs anymore. I like this setup because I can adjust the spoiler while riding and direct air to my head/chest if I want to. When I don't want the air flow I just push it back to the upright position. It's easy to do with one hand while riding. It's working really well for me. I think the 20" tall Madstad windshield would work too, but I like having an adjustable spoiler, especially for going offroad, I can move the windshield down and point the spoiler at my chest for air flow.
Sounds like all the lever & clutch mods help you with your tendonitis. Can't say I've needed any of those. But did you get the QuickShifter? I think it could be an upgrade for your year. It was available at purchase for my 2023. I would certainly put foam tubes over your handgrips, e.g., Grip Puppies. That stopped the vibration affecting my throttle hand on long rides. My rear brake pedal popped right off on my first drop. Got the same folding one you have. You've clearly enjoyed upgrading your bike beyond anything I've seen before. It is part of the fun!
What another great video. Love all those upgrades mine still stock apart from exhaust. Think ship mine over and you do same to mine lol. Thanks for the time it takes it shows thank you.😆😅
I like the stickers on the front fender - can you send us a link where we can get them? You have created a fantastic machine. it has amazing options and looks incredibly amazing. If they sold such a motorcycle in series, it would certainly be unrivaled in the class of light adventure motorcycles. Greetings and I wish you long, unforgettable journeys on this KTM machine !
Thanks a lot! Very kind words friend. I actually make the fender sticker myself 😅. I purchased decal wrap from AliEpxress. Just search “KTM Orange Decal Wrap”
Great video! Happy to see another fellow ktm 390 owner go ham on all the upgrades haha I noticed you have a fuel x lite installed from powertronic. I was wondering if you've ever encountered any electrical issues due to it? Ever since i installed my powertronic, ive been experiencing "mtc and abs error" promp showing up in the dashboard. Not always but from time to time it shows up. Did you ever experience anything like this?
Not with the fuelx lite. I would try letting the bike sit in idle until the green lights stay solid. It usually take 30 seconds for the fuelx lite to calibrate before riding the bike. If that doesn’t work. Contact fuelx lite and arrange for a replacement. The QC from them isn’t the best, unfortunately.
I have checked the original install video and this one but I couldn't find the link for where to buy it from. any chance someone can send me a link and what price they go for?! I don't wanna buy the wrong one for the wrong price..
By the way - re the lower triple clamp play when mounting the fork extenders. Wouldn't it be possible to wrap some 0,10 mm blade steel or brass around the point where the upper bolt clamp the fork legs?
Yes, I considered that as I do have some blade aluminum on hand. I may go back in there and do that. Though I honestly don’t think the forks are going anywhere.
Hey @ADVinJapan. Fellow 390 adv owner here. I have a question. Will the 2023 clutch switch work with older model (mine is 2022)?? What year model is your bike??
May I ask, what adaptor did you need to connect the Veepeak OBD+ to the bike's output? And what app do you use with it? My bike just lit the check engine light. Thanks!
Sure, it’s a standard 6 pin adapter. I got it on Amazon too. The app download instructions are in the manual for the veepeak. iPhone and android I believe are different so be sure to purchase the correct one.
I added the same 46T Power Parts sprocket. I would have tried to go up another two teeth but I didn't see anything in the Power Parts catalog for our bike with more teeth. I didn't notice much of a change in the bikes behaviour. I considered a 14T front sprocket but a lot of people tell me doing that puts unnecessary stress on the powertrain and adding 3 teeth to rear sprocket is better. Do you know who makes a 48 tooth rear sprocket for our bike? Do you know if adding a 48 tooth rear sprocket would need any other modifications? I was wondering if anyone has every added a 14T front with a 46T rear sprocket and you have :). Would you say it helps with difficult hill climbs? I struggle on steep hills with large loose rocks. If I don't make it up in one go I have a hell of a time getting moving again. Part of the issue is that I need to practice my clutch work, but also this bike stalls more easily than other bikes. One more thing. Change your exhaust to a high quality unit. Sound is half the enjoyment of a motorcycle. The stock exhaust sounds aweful.
Plenty of people have done those higher gear ratios, especially popular in India. There used to be several companies out of India that used to make them. When doing my research I tires to get my hands on there but was never able to find them in stock. The 14t has a significantly great effect on the bike because the ratio of going from 15 to 14 is much greater than going from 45 up to 46. As you mentioned, hardly noticeable. Anyone that says the 14t does unnecessary harm, doesn’t know what they’re talking about. The Duke 250 comes stock with a 14t, and that’s what I have here on my bike. If anything it will wear the engine faster because you’re generating more revolutions per minute than a 15t. But generally, yes, going up on the back in considered a “safer” option, if anything, for the chain. As for exhaust, I don’t way too much high way driving to be able to enjoy a cannonball on my exhaust, but I get it, sound can be important 😊
I really appreciate your video/s man! One thing i have to ask - not being a dick, just a guy who doesn't have English as native langauge, you say "as well, too" tons of times :) isn't one a synonym for the other? Again, not being a dick but it sounds odd to me. All the best from a fellow 390 adv owner!
My friend, you are totally correct. It also proves that grammatical correctness is never a good measure of speaking ability 🤣. Based on what you’ve written here, your English is great, as well, too 🤣. Keep up the English, and thanks for the support!

@@advinjapan Thanks for your quick response! Do you know how high is your seat after the raise of the forks? Stock its 855mm i believe
@notcris highest point is about 880ish but I have a plush DIY seat so it sits higher than stock.
@@advinjapan Great, thank you! Did you have to adjust the rear shock ? or anything after the fork riser?
@notcris nope! It took me all of 30 minutes to install

Thank you for the support!
I love your recommendations, I'm looking forward to doing them to my 390
If anything, it really helps you learn your machine. Glad you found it helpful!
Thanks for the video. You have inspired me to sit down and list all of the upgrades I have done to my 390. I may have you beat 😂😂😂.
Holy! 🤣 and I thought I had it all 😅
All in one❤❤❤❤

This bike won’t be finished until you sell it.
Haha, I’m afraid you’re probably right 😂
Which Fender on the front?
Hey Christian, it’s a Polisport universal fender with a custom mount. You can find the information in the description.
