+latorquemada Practice and practice, soon you probably won't even need to sketch when you draw a portrait. I only do it because then I know what kind of eyes and hairstyle I'd want the portrait to have. xD
This is gorgeous! Trying to get myself into drawing because people like you really captivate me and make me want to watch more and more x3 Any tips for people just starting off? like what to practise on first and/or how to develop your skill on paper? Thanks a bunch! new subscriber :D
I have only been drawing seriously for about a year so I'm still kind of a beginner but I definitely recommend getting a sketchbook and just sketching different things, and as for what things to practice, try a bit of everything! Get some cheap supplies and try them out of you enjoy it, continue doing it!
The important thing is to be patient with yourself and not to measure your growth against that of other artist. We all learn at different paces. I recommend you check out marydoodles channel, she has a drawing basics course which will help you with some fundamental techniques, but the best thing you can do is experiment a lot, with a lot of different mediums, in a lot of different styles and practice as much as you can. Even if it's just absentminded doodling, draw something everyday, and try to draw things that intimidate you. Watch how you hold your pencil, for loose sketching hold it between your index and middle finger and use your whole arm. For finer details and final lining hold it normally. As for shading look at a lot of photography, watch the way light drifts across different surfaces. And always, always work from lightest to darkest blending as you go.
Rachel Wilkinson Bought a sketchbook and some cheap supplies yesterday :D I'm just going to keep drawing until Ive found the way I love to draw and go on from there! :D Thanks so much!
Just draw whatever you want to! Tutorials and looking at different styles to try those out helps a lot. But really, it's about practising. Don't be discouraged when it doesn't turn out the way you wanted, that happens to all of us!
You are conquering each challenge !!, it's not even a challenge from my perspective, more so for us to be able to gain inspiration and motivation :D. Thank you for posting so frequently as well as with such effort in each video :)
Well done! I've watched your channel for a while now and I think this is your best piece. Avoiding outlines "forced" you to pay a lot of attention to layering the skin etc and this adds a really realistic look to the drawing. And to all of you who say they are insecure and could never achieve this: it comes down to practise. You will get better over time and you'll get used to your tools and then you will get better and better at drawing.
I love your artwork and the music!! I always listen to classical music when I draw, and it seriously helps me get ideas flowing and stay focused. (That or I listen to podcasts.) Sorry this comment is so late, but I just wanted to let you know that you are a huge inspiration to someone just starting out using copic markers!
+Kiri Chan What part of it isn't nice ? I was stating (in basic terms, since you seem to be interpreting the statement wrong) that the music made me sleepy. How is that not nice ? It's a neutral statement. I listen to classical all the time, mainly to calm my nerves before I sleep.
+Kiri Chan Telling the artist her art sucks, telling her that her taste in music is shit; that's judging (this is just an example Rambutan...love your artwork). Telling her that this song sounds like it came from a pre-school lullaby playlist isn't judging, in my mind, because I specifically remember this song from nap-time ten years ago. I'm not sure why you're getting your panties in a bunch over this.
I find the music very calming, and while yes, great to fall asleep to, it fits well to the piece, and flow of the hand in a way, plus, it gives an atmosphere to the beautiful illustration :D
Absolutely beautiful. It looks like a digital art. I've tried using copics before, and I could never make them look right, so I find this highly impressive.
your art is so amazingly gorgeous, i'm having a hard time believing you didn't sell your soul to be able to do this! I really hope with lots of practice i will some day be able to draw as beautifully as you!
This is so darn beautiful, I literally fell in love! It is very relaxing just to watch this and listen to the music. I wish I would have more time to improve my own skills..
I don't know anything about Copics but I understand there is quite a system for using the pens alone. Then when there is no sketch, it's a pretty amazing accomplishment. Very painterly. The hair with the stars and the white stripes of the eyes kind of distracted me a bit, but overall it was quite nice. Good job!
Aww das sieht echt wunderschön aus! /// Ich mag vor Allem die Colo der Haare! (Mit den Farben + den Glanzeffekten sieht es wie das Universum aus ~ *o*)
watching your work inspired me to improve my own, especially my coloring techniques with markers! I wanted to ask you, what is your favorite medium and why?
I actually color like this, I draw with pencil first tho. I love how the art comes out, look more... partial-realism? Not sure how to explain, but good work c:
This makes me wanna get my markers out again and draw a bit... even though I'm not able to draw anything without sketching xD But this is really great!!
For some reason I had the sudden urge to rearrange the hair into a ponytail and change the side bangs to front bangs and the curl the hair. Without the outline it looks so majestic and cute! I really want to be a manga artist and I'm already working on my series!
Fantastic! Your drawing is really beautiful! I would like to know if you use a specific type of paper for such no outlines drawing? I wish I could blend and control the colours as well as you do!
Why does the first song remind me so much of the anime Strawberry Panic?? When listening to it I can just imagine Shizuma and Nagisa dancing to it and it almost makes me shed a tear XD Damn fangirl feelings.
I would have failed this miserably 😂 awesome job 👍🏼
I can't draw anything without sketching. This makes me so jealous.
+latorquemada Practice and practice, soon you probably won't even need to sketch when you draw a portrait. I only do it because then I know what kind of eyes and hairstyle I'd want the portrait to have. xD
That was really cool to watch, it came together so well!
Jordan Persegati i love your art!!!!(°^°)/
Hellooooo!
This method it's more like if your sculpting something out of nothing. It's great and sometimes I use it.

I can't do this, it's to good, I'm hungry, I'm gonna go get myself a muffin.
wow it's beautiful 😍
10/10 would recommend
Thank you, thank you! *takes a bow*

+Midnight Kitti Thank you ^///w///^
can you do a ballpoint pen only challenge?
+Kurisuti_Sama sure :) thanks for your suggest
Her hair looks like the Galaxy
This is gorgeous!

It's amazing how you can still do so much detail without the outline! :O So beautiful!!!
i love these, i love seeing the copic ink bleed on the paper...so satisfying
I would punch a nun in the boob to have 1/4th of the talent you have. :) Great job.
That's Rude...
Could i watch? That would be v funny xD
+Ocean Davis I'll get the popcorn!
Ginger GemTheif Great idea :D
Ocean Davis Get the sodas xD
how do you learn to control the colours so well? like not make the colour too dark, etc
+Rainbow Becca With a lot of practice, experience and patience with yourself (like a lot)
+Rambutan Illustration Oh ok thanks!
+Ariana Lashell Jacobsen that's not really a fair thing to say tbh. some people find their strengths in different media and switching can be difficult
the fact that you didnt sketch it out first is mindblowing, bravo. one of the best speed drawings done on paper hands down.
You are conquering each challenge !!, it's not even a challenge from my perspective, more so for us to be able to gain inspiration and motivation :D. Thank you for posting so frequently as well as with such effort in each video :)

Great job!! I'm always too scared to do that hahah
+tomgirl227 haha just try it :D I also was just experimenting XD my first thoughts are just "fuck, shit, looks totally creepy" XD
I love your artwork and the music!! I always listen to classical music when I draw, and it seriously helps me get ideas flowing and stay focused. (That or I listen to podcasts.) Lol i listen to dubstep when i draw... IT GIVES ME THE FEELINNNGGG
I listen to Halsey because it just gets me into the mood to draw
Fell asleep 😫 Why do some artists insist on using BGM that sounds like it came straight from a pre-school's nap time lullaby playlist :(
+Maggy Blue I think the BGM is not the problem maybe YOU are just too tired... ;)
+Rambutan Illustration I think so too.
+Autymn Maas Cute.

I don't know anything about Copics but I understand there is quite a system for using the pens alone. Then when there is no sketch, it's a pretty amazing accomplishment. Very painterly. The hair with the stars and the white stripes of the eyes kind of distracted me a bit, but overall it was quite nice. Good job!

This is therapeutic and unnerving at the same time.

That's a really difficult challenge. You did a really nice job of highlighting the nose and mouth to make them pop.
Das erinnert mich total an Twilight Sparkle von My Little Pony :D
Ist richtig schön geworden:)

Fantastic! Your drawing is really beautiful! I would like to know if you use a specific type of paper for such no outlines drawing? I wish I could blend and control the colours as well as you do!
she is using cardboard paper from a german store. so just try out different kinds of paper and use the one that suits your drawing style.
Why does the first song remind me so much of the anime Strawberry Panic?? When listening to it I can just imagine Shizuma and Nagisa dancing to it and it almost makes me shed a tear XD Damn fangirl feelings.
