    Digital Original: fav.me/d8pjvyg
    As with the last one, this one is kind of an experiment where I wanted to find out if I'm able to imitate digital art with traditional media and I chose this picture because it became somehow like classic to me.
    Also, I reflected about the differences which arise when you use a photo reference or digital work. And the reception.. it was pretty interesting xD
    Anyway, now and then I will probably attempt some other digital art for my RUclips channel, so stay tuned :D

    • @LaovaanArt

    I admire so much people who can work with watercolor bc I can't, I don't know what happens but I paint and everything is nice then it starts to dry and the colors start to expand and it gets all messy and weird and I try to not put too much water. Btw your painting is so good, you have so much control, the colors are so beautiful and it looks so much like a digital painting.

    • @fakiirification
      @fakiirification 5 лет назад +2

      the pigment only flows where there is water. sounds like you might be working wet on wet and trying to get wet on dry results. Try letting your previous layers dry before adding more over top.

    1 year ago I avoided Laovaan's videos because his technique was above my skill level, but know I am happy to watch his videos to learn his technique because I have been practicing a lot. To those saying you cannot draw or paint as well as him... Neither could he until he put a lot of work in. The same goes for me and could apply to you- everyone has potential in them but it takes a lot of time and practice to refine your artistic ability.

    I wish my art was as beautiful. I don't have the resources to have proper materials, so I'm stuck with crayons, which don't work well. I guess I should take a free art lesson from you and just observe as much as possible.
    I'd really like to work with colored pencils and markers. I've seen one person in my life use markers and she was amazing. she would take a picture of herself and add other details as she drew but used markers for the whole thing. It was so awesome.
    I don't really like paint because I'm shit at it, but I love getting messy, which is why I love clay.
    I guess what I'm most awesome at is writing stories and all that. But I'll keep trying to sort out my materials dilemma.
    You're awesome. You've got me as a subscriber. Totally beautiful work.♡

    so it was just 5 hours alltogather? How? I mean i use considerably fast to dry acryl and would take days..if i could do it anyway-

    • @LaovaanArt
      @LaovaanArt  9 лет назад +29

      +Kilyén Balázs with watercolors you have no choice but to work fast ^^" you have to get the shading done as long as the wash is wet, so you can create a smooth flow. Once it is dry and you forgot something, you have to wet everything again, otherwise you would see waterstains. Thus you try to do as much in one wash as possible, since you could easily ruin everything when making all wet again :)
      ..i hope you understand what i am saying english is not my motherstongue :'D

      It's not even about the medium. I'm also an acrylic artist and I could make this in one day. It's less about the medium , and more about your skill. If you can't do this in one day it's not acrylic's fault, it's yours. :|

    • @MQMads134
      @MQMads134 9 лет назад +15

      +AlmostEverythingOtaku It most definitely deals with the medium. Watercolours dry super fast because it's literally just water and pigment. The fact that this person had skill/many hours of practice with their other pieces also contributed to the time the piece took, but mainly it was the medium in use.

    what kind of paint are you using through your air brush? is it watered down ink, acrylic, or watercolor. Killer idea. I need to try this out!

    • @LaovaanArt
      @LaovaanArt  8 лет назад +8

      +jody hughes it is actually the watercolor i am using through it :) just mix it with a bit water and you can change the opacity of the color a bit ^^

    I can't believe that only now, I just saw this. I love all of your work! Such practice! I hate how people abuse the word 'talent' nowadays. It's as if that hard work of studying and practicing is reduced to a sudden appearance of skill. I disagree with that idea. This takes work! Please don't stop making videos! These timelapses are akin to tutorials, because I've learned a lot about watercolor by watching you paint. Thank you.

      +Erza Gutierrez you have plenty of time to learn. you can start with still life since it doesn't move or print a picture in black and white to create it with out tracing also good practice with shading.

    Hi, it would be nice to know what camera do you use for your videos? I'm considering purchasing canon 60D camera since it's right now on sale at Fry's. I know that 70D is a bit better with auto focus, and touch screen interface, but 500$ more expensive than 60D.
