      Hi, I was wondering about the mapping of the tablet to device on Android. I took a look, the available active area for the larger one is 6.25"x3.91" (ratio≈1.598) whereas Android devices are typically 16:9 (1.778) with 18:9 trending on phones.
      So I was hoping if you could tell me, if you draw a square on the tablet, does that map out to be a rectangle on device?

      @@ChrisisWWC Yes but that's thankfully changing. I've been using Wacoms for over 15 years now from Tablet to Cintiq and all of them have been awful with the exception of the Wacom Intuos 3. Have owned a few Huions and have always enjoyed them, now using an iPad Pro for all of my work now but whenever I did have an issue with my Huion, customer service was very helpful unlike Wacoms rude customer support.

      @@Valk-Kilmer Wacom's rude cust. support? Lol that's unexpected from a Japanese company. Back then I wasn't a fan of Huion's rechargeable pens but now they've switched to battery-free ones lately. Maybe I would give Huion a try in the future.

      @JonathanAnimate2 5 лет назад +2

      i was tempted, but ended up sticking with wacom when i needed a new one last week. i can agree that wacom c.service isn't great. but I still think their tablets are superior. compact, touch, Bluetooth. I'm not sure what the drivers and customisation options are with Huion. They've come a long way, maybe next time, just not quite there for me yet. it's great to have a growing competitor to wacom.

  • @catsupy

  • @artbygabe
    @artbygabe 5 лет назад +7

    @bradcolbow the shortcut buttons up top don't get in the way until you get a left handed person like me using the tablet. In order for a lefty to use the tablet we would have to rotate the tablet 180° so that the side buttons and scroll wheel are on the right which then make the top buttons that don't get in the way into bottom buttons that will definitely get in the way. SIGH, us lefties always get over looked 😭

    You can clean normal drawing tablets, with a damp cloth without chemicals. It doesn't ruin it like many people think. If anything it helps the drawing quality, because if the surface gets to sticky or something, it won't recognize the pen correctly. Just to be on the safe side, dry it with a dry cloth right after :)

    I got mine last week and i was skeptical if this will be good enough. Tbh i hv owned a quite a few wacom intuos and this one feels quite nice to draw on, yeah u will feel the difference a little bit if you have owned a wacom before but i don’t think the difference is that big. And if you are a beginner i can almost guarantee you cannot tell the difference. I asked my cousin, who is a traditional artist, to try the intuos pro and the huion hs610 and he wasn’t able to tell which one he think was better. He did say that he preferred the bluetooth and the pen on wacom but the android features and the softkeys were more important in his opinion and i think i agree with him. So any of you folks thinking about buying this. I think you will make a good decision that you will not regret. And also i saw a video of a youtuber, Draw with Jazza, if you use his code ( or someone else who has a sponsorship with huion) you can get 10% off as well. Btw just to make it clear I’m in not asked to tell you about jazza’s code, i just thought getting 10% the price was a sweet deal.

      tabundo001 ok i think you got confused between hs610 and h610 pro v2.
      The discount code works on amazon and the huion website but it is ONLY for huion hs610 model and not for h610 pro v2. Hs610 is an entirely new and different model and can be connected to any android smartphone, whereas the h610 pro v2 is a slightly older one. Hope this helps.
      Edit: oh forgot to mention that the hs610 also has a touch wheel which in my opinion is a big enough reason to choose hs610.

      @@ivak1897 Yes I do! I got it on discount so the price for me it's fine, I really like the dial for zoom and size of the pen, you'll get used to use the button for the most common commands, such as ctrl z, ctrl t, ctrl d, zoom, N, B, E, etc even though you don't have any clue about what button is what, when you customize them correctly believe me you'll oress them unconstiously. I haven't any big issue, just that leaving the pen in the surface might not let you use you mouse (because the suraor follows the nib of the tablet) or electronic devices, or that it doesnt detect the pressure sentivity if you connect the tablet in middle of and open program (sometimes) i just reconnect it and it works. Apart from that, any issue. I woukd reccomend it very well! I don't think you'll regret. Well, Aaron Rutten is not that good for me. Still, there's another person that's as good as Brad collbow for tablet review.
      He is not a RUclipsr, but he is a real reviewer that has way more detailed tablet review, with the most perfect methodology for tablet review compared to most RUclips review.
      digitalarttabletguides.wordpress.com
      That's the link. Just take a look into one review (either it's Wacom, Huion, or gaomon) and you will see how hinest and detailed he is.
      Since he is the first reviewer that doesn't make sugarcoated Wacom review...
      Even he could find Huion Hs610 vital weakness , the Non Linear Pressure problem, that even Brad and 95% of the tablet user doesn't notice, because how nitpicky he is in Review.

      Tomas Lukacovic Oh! That’s a very good point. I wonder if the soft keys can at least be completely disabled? That wouldn’t be a perfect solution, but it might make it usable.

      @@jngarrettart The softkeys can be disabled on HS610's predecessor, New 1060Plus so I assume it can be disabled in this one as well.

    I've just bought the XP-Pen Deco Pro and the Huion HS610 and it seems that the HS610 has some serious issues with linear pen pressure.
    Like I've compared both of them and it seems that the pen pressure from the HS610 explodes in the middle, you can simply test that by drawing a straight line and linearly trying to increase the pressure.
    A guy posted this in his blog post where he states the same problem from 2 years ago lol ..
    I really wanted to keep the HS610 but I clearly can't recommend it due the fact of Huion ignoring this problem for 2 years and pretty much has given up on this model.

    I absolutely love your reviews, Brad 😆 I bought a Huion tablet a few months ago, I got the H610 PRO V2, which is very similar to this one but no scroll wheel. I liked it ok but didn't really love it. As fate would have it, a friend of mine gave me a Wacom Intuos 3 as a gift and so I've been using it since. I wonder if that H610 PRO V2 also works with Android 🧐

    • @01_zenyobi
      @01_zenyobi 4 года назад

      It does work with Android. You only need to upgrade the firmware if it doesn't upgraded.
      But, is there some reason about why you didn't really love this Huion H619 Pro V2 ?
      The buttons ? The texture ?

    Try ibispaint x app for Android. It's like Medibang but the GUI is far better. It has some cool features that Medibang doesn't have.

    Hii Brad! Awesome video as always. I was really curious when i saw the ad for this tablet hahaha I don't personally like the idea, but it's different from what we already have in the market and i guess Huion made a bold move.
    I was wondering if you think about reviewing the Huion KAMVAS 20, their 19,5' display,i just bought it and it'll be arriving in a couple weeks, I need to thank you cause if it wans't for your reviews i wouldn't have considered buying a HUION, it was a huge investiment, but not as impossible as Wacom, but coming from someone who has spent 10+ hours a day working on an Intuous Small everything is an improvement.

    I should've gotten this over the xp pen deco pro tbh. I bought it so I can dip my toes in drawing portably with a smartphone. But it's implementation is utterly unusable if your smartphone/tablet screen ratio is not 16:9. Huion's approach of partitioning the tablet area according to screen resolution is genius.

    Hey I have a question to you people. I don't draw or anything. In my school we always have the powerpoints that our teachers present, so we sometimes have to circle/highlight stuff, draw some shapes or take notes. And sometimes that can be very annoying to do using only a mouse and keyboard (for example taking math notes). I use OneNote for everything. Now I just found out about these tablets, but it seems like people pretty much just use them for drawing. Is this type of recommendable usable for my needs or do you guys think it's a no-go?

    I hate the space taken up by these keyboard shortcuts. In the case of digital art, what you should get is a keyboard section that has CTRL, ALT, Shift, Z, X, C, V and SPACE. This combination will do just about everything from resizing your brushes, panning, zooming, dragging, straight lines, undo, redo, copy, paste and on... These specific buttons don't combine together to do additional tasks and they are hard to remember what they do, not just with which button does what but with your muscle memory.
