    How to fight Corona
    1. Every1 should be vigilant. Avoid stepping out of your homes until it is absolutely essential.
    2. Those over the age of 60 should remain inside their homes only.
    3. Avoid going to hospitals for routine check-ups. If there are surgeries that can be postponed, kindly do so.
    4. Do not cut the wages of those working in your homes, support staff and drivers, gardeners.
    5. Stay away from rumours.

      Good tips. Thank you. Also, support your immune system. Getting enough rest helps; the body needs to refresh.
      Get FREE Vitamin D , which is good for the immune system, from the sun's rays. It's absorbed mostly through the hands and face. Wearing a face mask and/or sunscreen blocks this. 15 minutes a day is good.

    For people who want to store it fresh (not frozen, like the video)....
    1. Make sure your onion is dry no water
    2. Wrap it completely in a paper towel... do not stuff it together!
    3. Store the wrapped spring onion inside of a sealed ziplock bag, squeeze out air
    4. Store in the crisper drawer of your fridge.
    Mine lasts for up to 1 month ...
    if you notice the paper towel getting moist change the paper towel and replace with new ones. I change sometime just once or not at all

    I use most of the scallion, and then I plant the root part in a flower pot in my

    off and use it. The root in the ground will keep sending up new shoots.

    You can also cut the green off and cook with it right away and put the white bulb with roots into a glass of water. It'll regrow if it's got a little sun and that way you'll have at least two harvests out of each batch of onions.

    • @meauxjeaux431
      @meauxjeaux431 5 лет назад +19

      A hell of a lot more than two harvests if you plant them in dirt. I get MANY harvests in the course of 6 months. Keep the bottom 3 inches and plant them 2 inches deep. then Just go outside and cut off whatever amount you need, whenever you want fresh ones. Cut 3 inches above the soil level. They regenerate in two weeks.

    I put scallions and parsley upright in a container of water, cover it with a plastic bag, store it in the fridge, and change the water every couple of days. They keep for weeks, maybe months if they lasted that long.

    Not sure why you would do this as fresh is readily available and frozen does change in texture and flavor. Generally this is used uncooked as a fresh ingredient.

    • @Anione111
      @Anione111 4 года назад +1

      I guess it is to avoid wastage, which is ingrained into the psyche of some cultures. The green onions are sold in pre-packaged bunches and may be too much for a small meal for one or two people. This is an option to store it and use it for another meal. Certainly, it will not taste like the fresh ones, but may impart some flavor and avoid buying another bunch and wasting half of that too.

    I buy them and stick them in a glass of water and a couple of days later replant them in a plant pot and just cut them off at about the white leaving them in the soil and you will allways have fresh, they even live through winter I have some over 2 years they just keep on re-sprouting
