    In this video i'll show you step by step how to cook a Tomahawk steak in the Weber Kettle!
    This method can be used on other thick cut steaks like t-bones, porterhouses, rumps, rib eyes and more!
    Reverse searing is great as you get a beautiful subtle smoke flavour and a much more even cook!
    I love tomahawks as you basically get a juicy steak with beef back ribs on the bone!

    I bought the prime rib rack instead of the plate ribs
    Essentially wanted to low and slow like usual and aim for high internal temps. Can I do this with the prime rib rack or only the plate ribs?

    You use rubs on most meat products which isn't something I've seen in Australia very often, as opposed to the US? Does it take away from the pure meat taste?

    • @LownSlowBasics

      I’ve had salt n pepper on most proteins in the past, I like to try different combinations now. Still highly encourage and recommend salt n pepper as an alternative.

    What do you do to keep your steak a a decent eating temperature while resting it for 20 mins?

    • @LownSlowBasics
      @LownSlowBasics  2 года назад

      Wrapping in foil pretty much holds it, only drops like 10-15 degrees in that time.

  • @Papa_Giuseppe

    Is it normal to use so much coal for a single cook?
    Im new to charcoal grilling and a lot of reverse searing videos are showing 2 chimneys to cook a steak or something. Feels like itll get expensive and wasteful.
    Some cooks looked like the coal costed more than the meat
    Your videos are awesome mate, ive been binge watching them all week hahah

    Any tips of how to get a more consistent cook through out the steak, I always seem too over cook the edges or under cook in the middle?

    • @LownSlowBasics
      @LownSlowBasics  2 года назад

      Make sure you let your steak come up to room temp before cooking and reverse sear indirectly first like this method, sear for only around 1 min per side and your cook should be much more even.
