      I was in Mexico on vacation back in the 80's with a friend of mine. It was a package deal where we stayed in Mexico City, Taxco and Acapulco. Taxco was the quaint little town back then. The streets were steep because it's up on the side of a mountain/hill. I'm not sure which they call it. We bought so much silver jewelry when we were there. Rings, bracelets, earrings and decorative pieces. Back then the peso exchange rate was low versus our dollars. We had so many pesos when we exchanged that it was crazy. Everything was so cheap that we ended up bringing pesos home with us. I have no idea where all my jewelry and such went, through the years, but I'm sure they would be worth a good penny now. The people that lived there were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. I'm sure it's changed since then but it was a great experience.

      @@denisedavis4328 It hasn't changed so much - I sheltered there for several months during the worst of the pandemic, a very kind and welcoming community. The silversmith community was hit hard by the pandemic as the drop off in tourism led to a huge slow down in production. This year I hope to return and see it vibrant with the church and museum back open!

      @@TheNurseFlipper I noticed you had two Native American pieces. They looked stunning! I live in Taos, New Mexico. I find old pawn silver and turquoise jewelry. Some of it isn't hallmarked or signed. But it is made of either coin silver or sterling. And they can appear worn or roughly made.
      For example, I found four 2 inch conchos for the grand sum of 10 cents. They look simply made but by hand, they are not hallmarked but they are worn with a nice patina. And they have that silver feel. So I tested them and they are sterling. They are probably close to 80 years old.
      Value is $100 each! I'm looking for 3 or 4 more to make into a belt for myself to enjoy.
      There is so much out there if you know what you want to find, you will. like you've said before.
      Anyways, hope that helps. Thanks again.

    Thank you so much for another great video! They are so informative and helpful! 💗 I don’t know if this would be appropriate but I have a question. You mentioned that if something is gold and it is marked 750 that it indicates it is 18 karat gold. I found a beautiful Victorian style vanity tray that is in two pieces. The top part is glass or crystal and the bottom is some type of gold plated probably brass. But the gold is very shiny and it’s a beautiful piece. I actually thought about just keeping it and have had it a while handling it many times . I just noticed that the number 7500 is on the bottom in one corner. It is molded into the gold frame and raised. I’m just curious if you might have any idea what that would mean. I don’t think it’s anything very valuable. I have seen one sold as low as five dollars and I see one listed somewhere for 75 right now. I just want to learn what the marking means whether I decide to sell it or keep it. Any input would be appreciated by anyone who knows. Thank you so much.

    @nurse flipper, I think it is important to be clear with viewers that items showing as sold for "best offer" could have sold for well over OR well under the listed price -- or they could have sold to a dummy bidder just to remove the listing. The only VERIFIED sales prices are the ones showing in GREEN. (The fad of listing Corningware for thousands of dollars should prove instructional.). When you say items sold for the listed price on a "best offer" it is very misleading.

    • @TheNurseFlipper
      @TheNurseFlipper  Год назад +2

      There's no way to know the best offer price and I do watch to see if the item has been reposted indicating non payment. The offer prices fall in line in between two prices when sorted from highest to lowest so these are in the video in that order meaning they sold for more than the previous one I spoke about but lots than the following one.

    Question: I looked up the Haunted Brooch and it looks like it sold twice or there were two. I am a bit confused?

    Isn’t it Christian LaCROY?
    Just want to make sure I’m pronouncing it right. Been saying LaCROY and so far no one has laughed at me yet lol.

    How do you find people who are interested in costume jewelry? Are there certain groups?

      Hi Linda I don’t know if this helps but there quite a few utube group videos on vintage jewelry. Just type in vintage jewelry in the search bar on you tube. I belong to a few of them and they are really great people!
