YAY! The Cat Stayed!!! Browser Won - how could anyone have the heart to kick Browser out??????? I am VERY THRILLED that the City Councillor is BOOTED OUT of the City Council.
To say that this cat has encouraged kids to go to the library and read is such an understatement on how important it was to the community. Think of it this way, kids who aren't allowed to have pets, will still be able to see an animal they love, when they can't have one at home. You could see how that kid loved the cat. The benefits of socializing, caring, education, emotional healing is a big part of a child's development. I'm glad that they have a place they can go to and do this. In today's social media and internet age, you can find information on anything, but you can't get what you need in petting and enjoying an animal in person.
If your pet allergies are that bad, probably shouldn't get books from the library anyways. The books are covered in pet hair. They do cuddle up while you read at home too!
They remove a cat that causes no trouble and offers a stress relief for kids and adults, but won't remove a drug addict peeing and leaving needles on the front door.
I mean, if it hasn't attacked anybody, or damaged the books by peeing on them, why would you even think about evicting a cat that's been there for 6 years? Really, allergy? People can be allergic to all sorts of things, including paper, and certain ink.
Everyone: He must stay! The city council: He is too dangerous to be kept alive. Kids who now enjoy going to the library because of the cat: I NEED HIM!

Clements reluctantly put forth the motion to reinstate the cat, so the council could move on to other business. “I would like to apologize to those that are unable to use our public library facilities because of this cat,” he said. After the decision was announced, the crowd erupted in cheers.
The amount of dander this cat would need to produce to make even a very sensitive cat allergic person react must be astounding, probably not even the top 10 allergens in the air at that library
Couldn't understand this complain. My niece family is love fur animal, especially cat and dog. However, they family gene is having Pet allergies. The news anchor totally put that council member on blast and straight up name checked him on live TV for everyone watching to know the enemy 🤣
Wow literally everyone was upset by this. That kinda makes me happy that everyone ganged up to keep the cat in their library.
There might be stray or feral cats roaming the streets too, better not step outside.

THEY READ TO THE CAT
The fact that they’re fixated on a cat and not on the real big issues is troubling.

I saw children running and playing in the library; by all accounts having a great time. Why would we want to take that away?
In an era when our libraries are, quite frankly, in danger, maybe it’s time we rethink what the space can be.
Can you imagine how sad this council persons’ life is that they lobby for the removal of a cat that people like. I seriously can’t even contemplate being that petty and pathetic
Update taken from the Guardian Newspaper: The town’s mayor, Ron White, said he had received more than 1,000 messages in support of the feline, from “everywhere in the United States as well as Germany, Australia, Malaysia, Guam, and England”.
Clements reluctantly put forth the motion to reinstate the cat, so the council could move on to other business.
“I would like to apologize to those that are unable to use our public library facilities because of this cat,” he said.
After the decision was announced, the crowd erupted in cheers.

Couldn't understand this complain. My niece family is love fur animal, especially cat and dog. However, they family gene is having Pet allergies. Yet, the kids come to my house often just to hold and have fun with my cat. They do take medicine later for that but they never complain.
