The sliding lightning buster has some more uses that you didn't mention - It can be used to drag enemies above you on low platforms outside of the platform to land a KO with a semi-charged B - It can be B reversed making you able to cover 4 different options (normal sliding B, sliding B changing direction, B reversing sliding B and B reversing sliding B changing the direction) Form drifting can be B reversed as well in order to be able to land upsmashes, grabs or other moves from behind... B reversing on a short hop also makes you lose almost all momentum in case you just want to stay stationary in the air while shifting IMO, form shift ledge drop is rather dangerous because it makes you lose your first ledge invulnetability and makes you 100% vulnerable to 2 framing... good oponents will capitalize on this Other foresight property: If you're getting hit by a multi hit move and you're shielding (pichu's bair or palu's nair for example), perform a spot dodge to instantly trigger foresight for a free hard punish
In Xenoblade 2, Photon edge has a 100 meter range which basically means it's omnipresent and hits all enemies in battle so I think it's smash version is quite fitting.
You can also B-Reverse the Sliding Lightning Buster on ground. You go back around one training mode block. And I found out that if you time it just right (namely neutralB on 2nd frame after stopping running, then tapping the opposite direction on the third frame) you can slide around 3 blocks to the direction you're running, but using a Lightning Buster backwards. Hard to pull off consistently but lets you retreat the entire uncharged LB's reach while you use it. Crazy spacing tool if you're already running away from the opponent. Kinda like an enhanced Sliding F-Tilt backwards.
Found that out accidentally in a match, had to start practicing it in training mode once I found out about this, and I’m already using it in matches. It’s crazy how far Mythra slides during Lightning Buster compared to other specials.
when I was practicing using pyra x mythra I noticed when I shifted there was boost but I didnt expect to phase while they shielded and that I could off stage k.o. with it, that's gonna up my gameplay alot
Thanks a lot dude just incase you can use foot stool with mythra at 83% with a down tilt then fast change in to pyra down air spike to bair and it kills depends the character weight
@@IamNster so... I’m not sure how to do that without using two people, unless turning computer shuffling on works. I used banjo with computer shuffling on at 10% and 20%. 10% I was able to combo almost every time so you should be able to catch all DI. 20% on the other hand was a bit more precise to hit. Fun fact: Prya’s back air can sometime hit very close in front of you. You’d have to hit that hitbox and then a regular back air. The first hit is important because without it, you might only be able to catch DI in. Hopefully this is good enough.
You can also grab and jab out of Blazing End. The opponent just has to be at low percent and you need to time a shield to cancel the ending lag. BE to rapid jab is a true 21 hit combo that does 41%.
Honestly pyra and mythra swap is pretty busted The move is 32 frames, is invulnerable from frames 6-18 (12 frames of invulnerability), doesn't stale rolls or dodges and doesn't have a cool down timer like pokemon trainer. For more context all of pyra and Mythras rolls only have 11 frames of invulnerability when fresh
I do that photon ledge thing all the time. Great for getting on the ledge and getting your opponent away so you can option slide, jump, get up or attack with more safety
The drifting around with the pair makes perfect sense. Mythra's foresight is great, and Pyra's agility is amazing in canon too. She's just not "light speed"
You should probably not move during the up b as your able to drift left and right, if your doing that and its still not connecting, it's most likely the opponents SDI, so you can actually drift to read the DI if you want to be fancy.
Though, I wouldn't be surprised if air foresight is removed. I imagine watching your character an inch towards catching the ledge only to be slowed to a crawl and brutally murdered would cause a ton of people to utterly lose it. Reminds me of the Lion King with Mythra being scar and the opponent being Mufasa.
the teleport thing is the very first thing i noticed when i got my hands on her. it felt too dumb to be true. im actually hoping for a hotfix patch soon, because i dont want another brawl metaknight
You can't take the characters basic set and call it "new tech". this is all of what was in the presentation sakurai gave us. New tech isn't based off one character and is usually founds months after the character is understood and figured out on a base level as such. All you did was just learn the character for what she can currently do with no real high risk high reward.
I like the name "form drifting" and its a really nice mechanic
What about switch phasing?
It's cool and it works actually super well haha. It really is like dbz where you just teleport behind hahaha

And now there are people using the charging hitbox with the sliding lightning buster to drag people off platforms from below.
Anyone got a link to see what this technique is talking bout?

We have to Petition to have Form Drifting a smash term in tourneys and all throughout the smash community.
Lol. I would like to see that! Yeah the name does have a nice ring to it.
Really helpful tips. Love the "form drifting" mechanic and now that I've seen how it works I'm gonna give it plenty practice. Great video! 😁

Form shift ledge drop looks cheeky. can't wait to try it on my brothers.
nice! this is pretty comprehensive, but I guess you did spend quite a bit of time labbing. Great video!
About 3 hours of labbing
@@NyleStylez lol still beats my 20 minutes. All I found was the swap sliding. I didn't even consider the possibility of edge cancelling.
One thing I just learned: at low percents, you can combo falling back air to another back air as Pyra which does about 30%
Was this tested with proper DI?

@@elisankar8567 it’s annoying but you can have two controllers and use frame by frame to test di and see if they can get out
Why do that when you can spam neutral b lmao
Nani!? Kansei dorifto!
I can't wait to see form drifting in actual tournaments!
Why does no one talk about pyra getting a free footstool off of side b
@Akira Kurusu yep

Calling it soul drifting instead of form drifting would've been a nice reference

With the light buster slide , if you breverse it u slide *backwards* , good on ledge
The drifting around with the pair makes perfect sense. Mythra's foresight is great, and Pyra's agility is amazing in canon too. She's just not "light speed"
Is it just me who struggles connecting both hits of Pyra’s up b a lot more than I should
I hit them pretty consistently
I also do struggle, but maye it's because you drift forward with it and doing so pyra goes past your oppontent and the move doesn't connect
You should probably not move during the up b as your able to drift left and right, if your doing that and its still not connecting, it's most likely the opponents SDI, so you can actually drift to read the DI if you want to be fancy.

If you charge with lightning buster slide and time it right you can drag someone off the platform above you for a kill
0:56 Btw sliding Lightning buster can be B reversed and the charging hitbox can actually drag people off of platforms
Yeh I noticed that too, if someone is directly above you they get pulled down in front of you while mythra is charging lightning buster
That "form drifting" I call switch phasing
The sickest tech I accidently performed was pyras side B off stage onto my opponent with a footstool midair, fastfalling and dair spiking lol
