PIONEER SX 770 has return to the bench with right channel is out!!!

  • This pioneer was just serviced but return after running nicely for a week, no sound on the right channel...what could of happen?? let's see if I can find what the issue is and is it repairable...

    Omg, that brings back memories. My father bought an SX770 brand new from a shop in London in the early 1970s. He also bought a Garrard SP25Mk3 deck and Wharfedale Triton 3 speakers. I've still got the speakers but the rest have long gone. Thanks for a great video.

    Maybe a shorted speaker cable caused the blown fuse? As you mentioned, Joe these pieces are 40 plus years old, any problem can develop, especially if stored away for a number of years..........

      I am thinking like you...something happen that shorted that fuse on the right channel and speaker was what I had in mind without my pal Tim noticing it that cause that fuse to blow yeah!! I know it's nothing to do with the receiver. I guess we'll never know haha!!!
      but possibly a weak OLD fuse ?

    fuses can over time be week and sundenly "blow" nice video 🙂

    These old Pioneer have problems with bias trimmers (50ohms). My SX-770 is one of them.

    Could the fuse have been damaged when the unit was in transit?
