    Hi Sigoni! You''re so right about it being easier to crochet in the spaces with yarn like this. I'm using Bernard Blanket with a 12mm hook. I'm making a larger blanket starting with 72 chains. Thanks for this easy to follow video. 💕

  • @K9WATCHER
    @K9WATCHER 2 года назад

    Question for ya. Why are you using an 11.5mm hook, when the yard calls for an 8mm.
    Does it really matter?🤔

    • @SigoniMacaroni
      @SigoniMacaroni  2 года назад +2

      Yes it does 😊 I used an 11mm because it gives the blanket more drape. You can use a 9mm but it will make your stitches tighter creating a stiffer fabric. It will also turn out smaller than the one I designed with the 11mm

    • @K9WATCHER
      @K9WATCHER 2 года назад

      @@SigoniMacaroni Sorry, I just saw this question further down. I may not have an 11mm, but I'll use the biggest one I do have and hopefully, that'll work.

This is the first time I’m attempting to crochet since I was 6 and now I’m well past 50! Idk if bulky, fluffy yarn was a smart choice for my first project, but that’s all I had on hand since I’m disabled and I can’t get out often. You mentioned that you had a video to show how to crochet a single stitch border that could possibly be used to help with wonky edges, but I didn’t see it posted in your video description. Do u put ur first half double in the very first space? And also, I noticed at end of row, you chain 2, but does that include the chain to close your half double stitch? (Half double, close, then chain 2 or are you closing the stitch with 1 of those 2 stitches?

    • @Kathy-G
      @Kathy-G Год назад +2

      To start the half double crochets you insert hook into the 3rd chain from hook (not counting loop on hook). At end of row... work the last double crochet then chain 2 and turn. Begin working the half double crochets in the next space. The 2 chain will count as a stitch unless pattern says other wise. Hope this helps.

    hello, i love this pattern, the half double is my favorite stitch 🤗is there a reason that you have 52 stitches in your starting chain, like if i want to make the blanket wider do i need a certain number of stitches or no ?

    • @SigoniMacaroni
      @SigoniMacaroni  2 года назад +5

      No you can absolutely customize it yourself. Just chain until you reach your desired width. I used 52 because I wanted it to be wide enough to wear it covered my lap (and then some) but also long enough to reach past my toes without running out of yarn. If you decide to make yours wider and longer, just know that you will need more yarn than what I used
