The tip about removing tab on old strut helped me remove them. I didnt need to cut them off, just bend it upward so it wont get caught. Also didnt need to remove bar end link or brake line holders.
The six 12mm bolts holding the rear damper gusset/cover, that he says to snug down at about the 7 minute mark, should be 22 ft-lb per the Honda Sevice Manual.
Great work dude! I was to install a set of adjustable struts, and wondering how shall I adjust the rear one. Knowing that the cover could be easily removed really makes me happy.
Great video, couldn't get the stabilizer link off (rusted Allen head) but pulling the 2 stabilizer mount bolts out worked just as well. No tabs on either my old or new strut
Getting the two bolts back into the body can be a real B if your car decides it doesn’t want to cooperate. Have plenty of different size pry bars! You’ve been warned.
From a different source, the torque of the two trailing arm mounting bolts is 84.6 lbf-ft(=11.7 kgf-m). There is a big difference between 54 and 84.6. Would you please double check it?
Is it possible to use a spring compressor to replace the strut without removing the control arm bolts and not lowering the control arm? after Honda did the rear subframe repair the bracket for the repair goes over the front bolt of the control arm requiring removing the entire recall repair bracket in order to lower the control arm.
At 5:47 the second bolt was over-torqued. The proof is the torque wrench did not move before the wrench clicked. All this proved is the bolt was at least 54 ft pounds. Could have been 65 or 75, you cannot tell unless the bolt turns before the wrench clicks. Over torquing is bad too. So many people don't torque bolts properly. Otherwise nice video. Thank you.

Do you have to get a alignment if you just change out the rear shocks/struts on the CRV?????

What’s the difference between the 2nd gen and 3rd gen rear struts? They seem identical but are listed as different parts
Thank you very much for the Information

I think they have a dog
We can only hope.
Aque lado lleva el amortiguador RR
Runs the compressor empty with a 1/2" impact...
"Now torque this nut down to 10 inch pounds"
Worked in a dealership for 8 years. Only time we torqued was on engine work 😂.
This video shows why having pets is terrible for your vehicle.
Please learn how to properly use a torque wrench.... 3 ugga uggas with an impact and then torquing is not the correct way...
Why are you doing all these unnecessary steps? I’ve seen the video from 1a auto and it’s much easier
You didn't even clean and lubricate the rusty screws?
Was it necesarry to demount stabilizer link and brake hose?
Very thorough / concise video instruction thanks.
Good video thanks.
