Well, Gus...you guys need to get to the former DANISH West Indies where I am from!, St. Thomas, specifically. Unfortunately, Paul included our islands in the U.S Territories video so we did not get our own spotlight, but it's not like I'm asking him to do a separate video on just us - well, I am. LOL
Over there, you will find a bunch of Kittitians and Nevisians like my mom and dad who both live on St. Thomas.

Thanks for visiting my beautiful island!! I had a friend who didn't know she had a sprained ankle because of drinking Killer Bees for 2 days straight.
Two things....St. Kitts and Nevis don't have separate flags each. There is one official flag. The Nevis flag is only used when when St. Kitts and Nevis compete separately in events.
The buildings aren't abandoned because of anything to do with our CBI program.
1.Sometimes people start projects and are unable to finish them due to financial issues.
2. People die and either have no one to inherit the property or its in family dispute
3. People migrate to different countries. Sometimes never to return. They make a life out there and in alot of cases their descendants either don't know there is property or are not interested in living here or doing anything with the property.
4. Some of them are part of old plantations. The owners went back to Europe to live.....or migrated to other countries such as USA. Again some of the descendants of the owners don't even know about them.... some don't care.

Daniel Vidal the government has programs for that.
They build 2 and 3 bedroom houses for families in lower income brackets. These families pay a reduced mortgage and are able to own their home.
Secondly their isb what is called a first time home owner grant where persons wishing to build their first home can go to a local bank and get a mortgage with a low interest rate. They also get duty free on building materials.
Returning students under this program are allowed to consolidate their student loans as well. They are able to get that low interest loan to pay off student loan debt and build their own home without having to wait years and years.

Daniel Vidal yes we have a good system here for that.... could do with some improvements as with most things but its good. The government s here have been doing the housing for lower income persons since the early 90s.
Then they added that persons who owned land but couldn't afford to build could apply and submit their housing plans to the National Housing Corp and get their homes built at a reduced cost.
After that came the first time home owners program I talked about earlier.
Now they are developing something to offer duty free on materials for homeowners who want to do renovations on their homes.

We have one flag for both islands . That second flag u display on was created when our federation was St.Kitts and Nevis and Anguilla .
Basically, the flag of Saint Kitts is like the Federation flag but with an extra green stripe on top.

Nope, they are correct. The federation has one flag, Nevis does have its own flag. It's just like the UK is represented by one flag but the individual countries that make up that union have their own flags too.
